Pablo’s POV

There was still no call from Gunner, nothing to indicate that he had survived but I was sure he had. He has faced worse and he conquered them all. An abrupt shooting spree was nothing he could not handle.

I just needed to focus and keep my head in the game. Smith pushed the steel doors open and walked in sluggishly, panting heavily before flat of an armless sofa. He was too weak to be of any use to me, he was just a waste of space but I needed bait, a worm to catch the stubborn fish from the water and he seemed like the only willful option if he would agree.

“Smith, come over.” I ordered and watched him sluggishly drag himself off the chair and shuttle towards me. “We need to get them to come after me again. You are gonna be the bait and you ain’t gonna complain or say a word out of the context, here or there.”

“A bait? That will not be possible. I cannot be a part of your bullshit plan to sabotage innocent lives.” He yelled back at me, suddenly revitalized
