CHAPTER 4

Olivia dragged Gabriel with her all the way to the other living room. All the family members were following closely. Tristiny and Kyla had an evil smile adorned on their faces. Amelia's face was expressionless, not a single emotion was shown on her face.

Olivia jerked Gabriel harshly, and he fell on the floor near her foot. He hit his head on the pointed edge of the marble table. Hissing in pain, Gabriel closed his eyes and took a deep breath to subtle the pain.

Touching the spot, Gabriel looked at his fingers to see blood on them. He gazed at them and saw they all had made a circle around him.

“This is where you belong,” Adam said, smirking evilly.

“In our foot,” Tristiny said, and stood on Gabriel's hand with her tapered heels.

He screamed in pain and tried to take his hand away, but Tristiny pressed harder. Tears streamed down from his eyes, not only from pain, but also from opprobrium.

Gabriel gritted his teeth and pushed Tristiny away. Not expecting it, Tristiny stumbled back and slumped on the sofa behind her. Her mouth went wide in shock.

Gabriel stood up and glared at her. He had enough. He is not some dog that they are treating like this. Even dogs, in this mansion, are treated better than him. He is also not a pathetic human. He is the heir of his empire, and here they are deflating him with every passing second.

“How dare you,” Adam growled and charged toward Gabriel.

Adam Gabriel's collar and swung a fist at his face. Gabriel stumbled back from the force of his fist, but Adam's hold on him was stronger. Adam punched him again and again. He punched him in the stomach, making him gasp for air.

It's not that Gabriel was not strong, but Adam was stronger than him. Adam was well-built and Gabriel was skinny due to being starved for days. Adam was in his early 30 and a trained fighter while, Gabriel was twenty-one years old.

Gabriel groaned as he dropped to his knees. His nose started oozing. His lips were busted, and his right eye was pitch-black. Touching his nose, Gabriel felt blood dripping and his blood started boiling. He glared at Adam.

Standing up with great difficulty, he glared at Adam, who was looking at him mockingly. Gabriel swung his fist and hit Adam hard. Adam yelped in pain.

Gabriel knew he is not in any competition with Adam, but he forbade to be their punching bag anymore.

Gabriel was about to charge Adam when a force slammed his face. It took him a moment to realize that someone has slapped him. Looking up, he saw Olivia glaring at her.

“How dare you,” Olivia screamed at him.

“Today, I'll show you your damn place,” Olivia staggered.

“Call everyone here, now,” Olivia ordered a maid passing by. With a quick nod, the maid scurried away.

Within two minutes, all the maids and guards gathered in the living room. Gabriel looked at everyone confused. He couldn't fathom what Olivia was on about.

Gabriel's eyes wandered to Amelia, who was sipping lazily on her coffee. Shaking his head, a sad smile bedecks his face. He looked away.

“My dear son-in-law here has forgotten his true worth. Why don't you help him remember him,” Olivia taunted with an evil smirk.

“ Everyone in line,” Olivia spoke up, and all the servants stood in a line.

“ Now all of you will whack him with your shoes,” Olivia said with an evil smirk. Gabriel's head swirled in her direction. He couldn't believe his ears. He was gazing at her, still unable to wrap his mind around her words.

Tristiny giggled and Kyla clapped her hands excitedly.

Gabriel was still gazing at Olivia when he felt a pricking pain on his cheek. He snapped his head and saw the maid from the kitchen has slapped him with her heels. Gabriel hissed and one by one everyone came and hit him with their shoes.

Olivia dismissed everyone and gazed at Gabriel, who was on the floor, breathing heavily.

Gabriel's whole body was on fire. His cheeks were red, but most importantly his heart was seeping.

Gabriel was still on the floor when Adam came forward and started kicking him. Gabriel tried ducking his hits, but Adam was stronger than him. Gabriel still didn't back down, he continued dodging Adam's hits and hitting him back.

Adam was continuing kicking him until Gabriel was barely conscious. By now, Gabriel was all bloody. Amelia and Olivia were worried about him. They don't want any problem with the paparazzi.

“Adam, stop,” Amelia said. She still doesn't feel pain, looking at her husband all bloody. But, she didn't want any police issues. They are already bankrupt and this can cause more troubles.

With one last kick, Adam pulled back and stormed outside. Everyone left him in the living room, all bloodied. They didn't care about him. After laying there for thirty minutes, Gabriel groaned and clutched his ribs. His whole body was paining, and he was having trouble breathing.

With great trouble, he stood up and came face to face with Amelia.

She stood before him with her arms crossed over her chest.

“Am-amelia,” Gabriel started, but Amelia stopped him with her hand.

“Leave,” Amelia said, and Gabriel looked at her shocked.

“Wh-what,” Gabriel asked slowly.

“Leave from here and never come back. This marriage was a mistake," Amelia said emotionlessly.

Gabriel stood still. His heart was ticking wildly. Her words were tingling in his mind.

“You are the blunder of my life and now I want to improve it,” Amelia said firmly.

Amelia has always desired about having a prince charming. But, she never knew that she would get a clown for a husband instead of a prince charming.

Gabriel opened his mouth only to close it again. His mind was blank. He never knew how everything took this turn. But one thing, he was sure that there is nothing left for him here. With a defeated sigh, he stared one last time at Amelia and left from there.

While walking towards the main gate, Gabriel was looking around at everything one last time. This place is indeed crammed with dreadful memories for him, but still, he has spent three years of his life here. They sheltered him when his family kicked without without listening to his justification.

He was near the gate when his phone started ringing. Taking out his phone, a small genuine smile appeared on his face when he saw the caller ID. Accepting the call, Gabriel felt his heart at ease just hearing his voice.

“Hello,” Gabriel said softly.

“ Mr. Gabriel Sigmund,” The voice from the other end said, making Gabriel chuckle.

“Come on, Grandpa Tony” Gabriel said with a small smile. Tony is Sigmund's housekeeper. He has been with them since he was a teen. Gabriel has always seen him as his grandpa. He is the closest to him.

“Oh, my goodness, Child. Is it really you? How are you? Where have you been? It's been three years since I last heard your voice. I dialed this number, but I wasn't certain…,” Tony blabbered in one breath.

“Breath, Grandpa Tony,” Gabriel said softly.

“How are you, my dear,” Grandpa Tony asked softly. A lone tear escaped Gabriel's eye when he picked up the love and concern in his voice. He was longing for this, for an ounce of love.

“I-I am fine, Grandpa,” Gabriel said softly. All the time of his danced before his eyes as he recalled the last three years of his life. Each word of humiliation, everything.

Was he really fine?

“Gabriel,” Grandpa Tony said and Gabriel stilled, sensing the gravity in his voice. He can't tell him anything.

“How is everyone at home, Grandpa? How is Grandfather,”? Gabriel asked softly.

“Dear he…,” Grandpa Tony said softly. He started, but stopped himself.

“I'm sorry Grandpa, but I swear I didn't do anything,” Gabriel said.

“I know my child, and everyone knows this. Your family has been searching for you,” Grandpa Tony said.

“What,”? Gabriel asked shocked.

"Yes, we all know you did nothing wrong. We all want you back in your home,".

"The Castle needs its king," Grandpa Tony said teasingly.

"You have inherited all the wealth of your grandfather," Grandpa Tony declared making Gabriel choke on the air. He couldn't help but recalled everything that happened three years ago.
