"No mom, I wouldn't divorce him."
She shakes her head, held Derek's hand.
Derek knew deep down she didn't trust him. So he believed that she would readily opt in for a divorce upon her mother's suggestion.
But not until he saw the same serious expression on her face that her mother had.He remains rigid, without any motion.
"I'm really surprised….."
He mutters to himself, not quite audible. He decides to surprise his wife, he never thought she would be saying this.
He hastens down to his motorcycle which is down. He is going to do this no matter what, it's not a planned decision but he doesn't care.
He didn't inform anyone before leaving. He just wants everything to be a surprise. Before reaching the family estate, he calls his family's asset manager.
He picks.
"Mr Aurelius, I'll be coming back home to take over." He first starts. "I'm already on my way!"
Aurelius Julius, an Italian, had been in the job of managing the vast billion dollars worth of the Dawson's assets for about seven years after the first manager died in a plane crash.
"You're really serious?" He is amazed to hear this, for over years, Derek, the heir to his family fortune hasn't called and he wondered if he doesn't want the inheritance again.
In a short time he arrives at town, then with the little amount left in his food credit card, he walks into a common restaurant and orders for the least meal he can afford.
To avoid embarrassment, he doesn't go for what he wouldn't be able to pay although this is a common restaurant and the price of all food is within the reach of people like him.
He calls Aurelius again. "Yes sir," he replies, only to shock Derek. He had forgotten his status, so it sounded somehow in his head.
He wants to refrain from calling him this again but then, he remembers who he is, who he was born to be.
"I think I'll be signing the documents or both assets today?"
"Yes sir." Aurelius replies.
His grandfather had gotten two major assets in his youthful days, which he both willed to him. Though he has a lot more, apart from this which he is also going to get, he is focused on these two.
The Golden Estate in Dubai costs about eight hundred billion dollars, a huge amount beyond his consideration. For some time, he never cared to check the current real estate value of the property.
It's a ninety storey building constructed both in and out with pure gold. The furniture and decorations in the interior of the building are made of pure gold as well.
The structure becomes most beautiful at night, from what he saw when he traveled with his grandfather many years ago. Then he was a young teenager, hoping to grow up one day.
At night, when the golden light gets to illuminate the entire building, it stands out as a star in the dark sky. There are lots of beautiful skyscrapers around it but it's the only gold house in the entire country which qualifies it standing out among the rest.
Being of this quality, it carries the most expensive rentage tag in the whole of Dubai. A million dollars for a single room per month, excluding charges for the vast facilities inside of it which are separate.
"That's good!" Derek remarks with delight in his heart upon thinking of the great worth of this Golden House he would be taking into his control.
His thought moves over to another lucrative asset, the company where his grandfather was the owner. Deonz specializes in the production of luxury cars of different models with price range of a two hundred thousand dollars to thirty million dollars. It's said to be one of the most expensive car brands in the world. Derek's grandfather has operated the company for forty years ago and since then, the world have seen Deonz in its best form.
The company is worth three hundred and eighty billion dollars. After signing the contract, he would be the owner of Deonz company, which is a company that manufactures the latest version of luxury cars. Derek Dawson.
"Well," he says with a sigh of satisfaction as he was still on the call with Aurelius. "I'll be arriving soon, be expecting me in the next twenty minutes."
"Okay sir. Please endeavor to call me when you arrive at the estate so I can come down to pick you up. The estate has been renovated to a great extent. You may not know where you are going."
"Okay, I understand you. I will."
Derek begins to imagine how it will feel like being in his childhood home, which has now undergone some changes as he heard.
At least the three years period given to him to go out and live without his family's support is over and he is now returning to take his rightful position in the family.
