DONALD'S PRE-BIRTHDAY SHOCK

"Hey, I'm running late. I have to go now," Donald said, after checking his wristwatch. He had better go back to work before it was too late.

"Donnie, to where? By the way, I wanted to tell you I wouldn't be able to come around to your birthday tomorrow, so..."

But before Jackson his close friend at the University could finish his statement, Donald had dashed away, replying to him from a distance. "See you later!"

Donald was in his final year at the University of Chesbil and was to turn 20 years old the next day.

He had been experiencing a low-key life ever since he was born and had been involved in low-status jobs to learn what his future employees might be like and most importantly, to better understand, the inner and basic core of running different companies and leading its employees.

Within a short time, he arrived at the Royals' hotel, where he worked as a food server.

"Hey, Donald," one of his colleagues at the hotel greeted him as he walked in.

"Hi, Greg," Donald replied, as he went over to the table at the reception to check the log book.

"Okay, I'm to deliver food to the guests at Room 307," Donald told himself, as he flipped through the book in front of him checking details of the food he was to deliver; then he walked over to one of the attendants to get the order which he carried up the stairs.

Within a short while, he was in front of one of the hotel rooms with the number tag, 307. He pressed the doorbell, and within a short while, the door was opened by a young man in a bath towel. The man left the door open when he saw that it was a server, and returned to his girlfriend to talk and kiss her.

Donald had decided to ignore what the guests were doing and only pay attention to putting the food on the table, but...

"What? Why...what are you doing here, Sandra?" Donald asked, a feeling of betrayal building up in his mind. The lady he saw in the room was no other than Sandra his girlfriend! Donald had remembered correctly, he and Sandra had been in a relationship for the last two years.

And now, look what he was seeing, his girl with a man in a hotel room with a bath towel barely wrapped around her chest.

"And who...who is this man?" Donald asked, his voice shaking as he turned to the stranger. Sandra was also shocked to see Donald at first.

But soon, after staring at Donald for a short while, she managed to smile and say, "I am here to discuss my project work with him.

Sandra was in the same class as Donald, and they were getting close to the defence of their project work.

"You are lying! You're wearing a bath towel with a man in a hotel room, and you tell me that you're discussing your project work with him?! Who does that? Do you think I am a fool?" Donald spat in anger.

However, hearing his words, instead of feeling ashamed, Sandra walked towards the man in the bath towel and placed her arm on his shoulder.

It was obvious that she didn't care about what Donald had just seen and suspected. This pained Donald more.

"You know what? There's no point in babbling here. You should know that I can't have anything serious to do with you. Look at you in rags and cheap clothes, how can you give me the happiness and luxury life that I deserve?" Sandra said as she scanned Donald from head to toe slowly as if gesturing what a total loser Donald was.

Donald was surprised by Sandra's reaction. He never thought that Sandra could still be this shameless to accuse him after he had found out that she was sleeping with another man.

He had expected her to be remorseful, but it was obvious that she was not.

"I can't believe this. Sandra, are you out of...

"Hey, idiot. Can't you see that Sandra has no feelings for you?" The man who was now wrapping Sandra's waist with his sweaty hand broke in.

He could sense that Donald was Sandra's boyfriend, but who cares about what a loser thinks? Beauties are for the rich, not the poor, otherwise, it would be a waste.

"You know what? I think Sandra is 200% right, she deserves a better life of milk and silk, with humble rich men like me. As for you with neither power nor penny, you deserve to live in a cave with a female monkey.

On hearing the man's remark, Sandra inevitably burst into laughter.

"Oh, my goodness! I'm beginning to catch so much fun already." It was obvious that she didn't feel at all sorry for Donald, instead, she was enjoying the sight of humiliation. It would be even better to see Donald rush out of the room ashamed of himself, but he didn't seem to want to leave.

"Hey, food server! You have overstayed your visit to this room. Now, will you leave us alone?" The man commanded, but he noticed that Donald did not bulge.

"Boy, do you need anyone to tell you that you are too low-profiled to have a girlfriend like her? Can you afford what it takes to take care of a queen like her?" The man asked as he drew closer to Donald.

Donald instinctively drew back a little, since he was not sure of what the man was about to do. Meanwhile, Sandra had already taken a seat and begun to eat the food Donald had served them.

"Ummm...this is good food, which the poor can never afford," Sandra remarked. She intended to mock Donald stylishly.

"Now, if you continue disturbing us, as the guests of this hotel, I will call the manager, and who knows if this will lead to you being sacked! A poor loser will then even be poorer. Nice. Now, get the hell out of here!" The man commanded with a sarcastic tone, pointing at Donald's nose.

Before being shown out of room 307, Donald had never thought his relationship with his girlfriend would end up this way.

Can money be more powerful than love?
