Chapter 1
Chapter 1
Chance stood outside his girlfriend, Vinita Iron’s, front door, heart pounding like a bass drum. The flowers in his left hand had begun to droop slightly because of the summer heat, and the box of gourmet chocolates in his right hand was slick with sweat. He tried to talk himself out of being nervous, but his sweaty palms wouldn't let up.
He had spent every last cent of his savings—five thousand dollars scraped together from his three part-time jobs—for this moment. It was her birthday eve, and he wanted to do something unforgettable for her. He'd been planning this for months. The sleepless nights spent scrubbing restaurant floors or catching up with schoolwork in the library—they were finally going to pay off.
He hadn’t told her he was coming. He couldn't wait to see the look on her face. There was no way she would be expecting this caliber of gifts from him.
She had warned him before about surprises like this. Their relationship was a secret, and according to Vinita, it was imperative to her survival in the school that nobody knew about their relationship. He'd done his best to be careful. He knew that Vinita liked surprises, just not the kind that messed with her image. And he could understand that. At Elite Society University, everything was about reputation.
In a school where everyone was of the elite class and from families who had a net worth of nothing less than $1 billion, your reputation was everything. The kids at ESU took snobbishness to a whole new level. If it was even rumored that you weren’t from a rich family or didn’t have millions in your account, it was over for you. And as someone who had been found out by these spoiled rich brats and humiliated and scorned at every turn, he knew it was something he didn't want the girl he loved to go through.
Vinita was kind of like him—from a humble family but talented and smart enough to gain a scholarship to ESU. Vinita was so beautiful. She was one of the popular ‘baddies’ in the school. An upcoming model and social media influencer. And she’d been very discreet about her background, so to these kids, Vinita belonged with them. She didn’t have to suffer the taunts and humiliation that people like Chance did. In ESU it was either get humiliated or become a dedicated worshipper of your bullies.
He was proud of her for distinguishing herself like she had, but Vinita didn't see it that way. She was always on high alert for anything that could possibly expose her, and these days it was like Chance topped that list.
But Chance was in love—deep, stupid, hopeful love—and he believed that this gesture, this act of romantic spontaneity, would touch her heart even if she had guests she didn't want to see him.
He knocked.
When the door swung open, the expression on Vinita’s face was anything but touched. Except maybe touched with rabid annoyance.
“What are you doing here?” she demanded, voice sharp.
“H–hi,” Chance stammered, offering a shaky smile and the flowers. “I wanted to surprise you.”
From behind her, a girl with long, dark curls and designer sunglasses perched atop her head stepped into view, peeking over Vinita’s shoulders. She was about two inches taller than Vinita.
Courtney Wiley.
The name alone could buy a wing of their college. She was rich, bold, and ESU elite royalty—and Vinita’s new best friend.
Chance’s stomach dropped. He could already feel the trouble that was to come with her presence.
“Oh my God,” Courtney gasped with a twisted grin. “This is your boyfriend?”
Vinita’s face turned pale, then red. “No, he’s not. Not anymore.”
Chance blinked, his mouth going dry. “Nita?”
She stepped out, pushed him backward, and snatched the flowers and chocolates from his hands, then tossed them into the trash can beside the door with such vigorous hatred that Chance stumbled backward.
“This. Is. Trash!” She spat out as she pushed them further into the bin angrily.
“Th–that cost five thousand dollars,” he whispered.
“And yet it looks so cheap,” Courtney smirked from inside the doorway.
Then, with cruelty only the rich can afford, Courtney pulled a thick wad of bills from her Prada purse—ten grand at least—and hurled it at his chest. “Here, go buy yourself some self-respect.”
The money hit him and fluttered to the floor.
Witnessing treatment like this, no one would believe he and Courtney were the same age.
“You’re so embarrassing,” Vinita hissed, vibrating with what looked like anger but what he was sure was shame. He'd fucked up again. This is what she'd warned him about severally.
She pushed him further back and leaned in out of Courtney's earshot. He had to bend his 6’2 frame to her 5’6 height so as not to appear nonchalant, as she’d once accused him of.
“Do you know what this could do to my chances with the elite circle? What Courtney must think of me now?” she whispered ferociously at him, her eyes blazing.
“I just wanted to—”
“You wanted to ruin my life!” she snapped. “Get lost, Chance. I can't even look at you right now.”
“B– but—”
She turned around and stomped inside. Courtney smirked, then slowly raised her middle finger. Chance’s face turned red, and she cackled breathily as she turned to go inside, slamming the door shut in his face.
He stood there for a long minute, winded. Then turned and began walking. There was an ache in his chest as he thought about not just Vinita’s treatment of him but the money that’d practically just been thrown away.
Behind the closed door, Courtney pulled out her phone, thumbed a quick message to Roy Brown.
[News for you on our boy. Costs twenty grand. You in?]
Seconds later, her phone pinged with a reply:
[Send account details.]
A credit alert followed. Twenty thousand dollars. Courtney smiled and typed her final message:
[Chance has a girlfriend. It's Vinita.]

The Young Student Trillionaire Chapter 242
Marlene set the files down on Ava’s desk, crossed her arms, and gave her a long, assessing look.“No,” she said simply.Ava frowned. “That’s it? No?”“That’s it.” Marlene sat on the edge of the desk. “You’re not weird, Ava. You’re straightforward. Blunt. Fiercely principled. Sometimes a little too sharp around the edges—but that’s because you’re used to protecting yourself.”Ava looked away, throat tightening unexpectedly. Whatever Marlene was saying was nothing but the truth of the matter and she wasn't going to dispute it. She had excelled in her career so much to the extent that it had somehow built a wall around her that she suddenly seemed to scare men away. But with Gerald's audacity to kiss her even without her consent, it wasn't just bold, it was romantic too—at least to her. Gerald was the first man to try something like that with her, and no matter how much she tried to deny it, she liked it.The feeling had been something else—something she had only seen in movies and had a

The Young Student Trillionaire Chapter 241
Gerald didn’t drive straight to headquarters. As a matter of fact, he raced there as his thoughts were moving faster than the car, looping, tangling, crashing into each other with every turn of the road.Flynn’s words wouldn’t leave him.The shooter wasn’t Julia. The angle was wrong. Someone else fired that bullet.By the time he reached the CSSA building, Gerald’s pulse had become a steady drumbeat of urgency. He flashed his badge, walked through security, and ignored several agents who tried to greet him. He went straight for the restricted archive room.It took his clearance, a fingerprint scan, and a retinal verification before the steel doors slid open with a heavy hiss.He had watched the CCTV footage and had not noticed anything unusual with Bruce's death. As a matter of fact, the video that proved beyond reasonable doubts that it was Julia who fired the gun and killed Bruce. But now that Flynn had told him of the possibility of someone else being the killer and not Julia, he

The Young Student Trillionaire Chapter 240
Gerald arrived at the café upstreet in less than five minutes as the café wasn’t very far from Ava’s law firm.It was a small place known for its quietness, and was tucked between a flower shop and a bookstore, with the smell of roasted beans drifting out through the open door. Exactly the kind of spot where no one paid attention unless you wanted them to.He stepped inside, scanned the room, and immediately spotted Flynn Holloway seated near the window.Flynn was impossible to miss. Twenty-one. Sharp-eyed. Hair slightly messy in a way that suggested he had been buried in work for hours. His laptop was open, screensaver flickering, camera bag at his feet, fingers absentmindedly tapping a rhythm on the table as though processing a thought only geniuses understood. He looked up when Gerald approached.“Agent Gerald,” Flynn said with a small nod—respectful, but not intimidated. That was something Gerald appreciated about him.“Flynn.” Gerald pulled out the chair opposite him and sat. “Yo

The Young Student Trillionaire Chapter 239
Ava Rennet was stepping out of her law chamber, heels clicking sharply against the polished floor, when she froze. Just a few feet ahead—leaning casually against the wall with his arms folded, stood Officer Gerald. For one full second, she simply stared, thrown off by his presence. Gerald was not the type to lurk around her workplace without a reason. They were not friends, and had not fixed any appointment prior to this time that they’d be meeting at her office, and judging by the look in his eyes, he hadn’t come for small talk.“May I have a word with you?” Gerald said, skipping greetings as he pushed away from the wall and approached.Ava’s brows drew together as she tightened her grip on her bag. She had no business whatsoever with Gerald, and wouldn’t want anyone to see them together and begin having the wrong notion.“As you can see, I’m in a hurry,” she said briskly. “And I don’t have time for any cheap talk with you.”“Really now?” Gerald stepped closer, closing the distance

The Young Student Trillionaire Chapter 238
Harry said nothing as he didn’t trust his voice Instead, he simply turned to the next page where more photos greeted him. There was a younger version of Doomdoer in crisp suits, a younger version of his late mother laughing and a small boy with missing teeth—him—standing between them.He flipped again, and again until his hand paused.A new figure appeared in one of the pictures. A man who looked almost like Doomdoer, but darker, broader-shouldered, with sharper features. A man with a smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.Harry stared, as something about the man he was seeing in the picture was just enough to make him halt, as though there was some kind of interesting story about him that he’d love Doomdoer to tell him about. And of course, there was an interesting story about the fellow, and Doomdoer didn’t wait for him to ask before he continued speaking.“That’s my brother. Robert.” His voice dropped lower, deeper. “We looked so much alike that people often mistook us for twins.”

The Young Student Trillionaire Chapter 237
Brenda didn’t even bother knocking, not today having heard that the men they had assigned to help Harry escape from the CSSA had succeeded, and that Harry was now speaking with his father.Harry hadn’t supposed to be part of the plan and even Doomdoer had given up on him, but seeing how unreliable Gary had been in helping executing their plans after he got involved with Courtney, there had to be a plan B and that was where Harry became relevant. The metal door slid open with a hiss, and she stepped inside just in time to catch Harry’s stubborn declaration echoing through the dimly lit room.“…and I’ll turn myself back in to the police. I never asked to be broken out. I don’t want any part of—”A low, disbelieving laugh slipped from Brenda before she could stop herself. She pushed the door fully open, arms folded, posture relaxed but eyes burning with sharp amusement.“You’re sure gonna have to rethink that, Harry,” she said, sauntering forward. “Because that? That right there has to b
