Chapter 9.

Sooner than he had expected, a quick notice had been sent through his message: please Mr Jed Griffith, you are no longer welcome to work with us at Stoneshell any longer. We will ban you and any of your family that try to partake with any business consultation with us from this very moment. Thank you.

He had still been present in the firm, reading the message like it had been written in a foreign language, then some hefty men nearly twice as big as he was came towards his direction, lifted him up in the presence of everyone and threw him out. They didn't stop until they arrived at the trash bag outside before dumping him there. There had not even been a split second for an embarrassing moment.

His personal assistant hurried out to meet him, cleaning his clothes which had attracted particles of stains, but Jed pushed her away, sending her to a quick halt.

He was now starting to feel embarrassed. What would Ava think of him? Or his sister?! He was doomed.

Doomed!

Brad met with his secretary, Tia. The woman had been a young slender lady, no more than twenty five. Tia had big brown eyes and medium length hair styled into a fringe.

"He's been escorted out, Mr Bastien. More like thrown out." she joked, and a smile worked up on her bright face.

A faint tremor of amusement was on his lips. Pleased with that already being settled, he dived into the next issue. "There's another matter we need to take care of."

The smile that has formed on her face slightly faltered. "Related to the bidding?"

Brad frowned. "Yes. I'd like to know why my early instructions about giving the bidding to my wife had not been carried through. Care to explain?"

She straightened her posture and wore a serious expression on her face. "I'm sorry for going against your wishes but, the needs of the company are far larger than your wife’s bid can handle." She spoke in a firm voice, with conviction. "For this reason, that was why I had decided to postpone the announcement of the winner, hoping to further discuss this matter with you first so we can know how to proceed."

Well she was right after all! Things might be a bit more difficult than he'd anticipated. But nevertheless, he had to think of a way.

He agreed with her and began to think about how to tackle the problem.

A good bid should show how you will provide value...

If that alone made a good bid, then he wondered what value his wife's bid had to offer.

"How about bidding strategy?" He asked.

"Do you really think we could go for it?"

"Well, yea I mean, it's clear that the bids aren't high enough to compete for qualified buyers. We could tackle it with this." Tia nodded mindedly. "And then we can double the amount. Since it's clear that the bid isn't showing the client how values will be added. We have to step up our games. There are wild competitors out there, Tia. And my wife isn't going to lose to any of them."

With an affirmative nod, she replied." Yes Sir!"

Ava had been blessed with two kids, a boy and a girl at that!

Ivy on the other hand, she had just a girl. Same age as Brad. Raising her had not been easy, especially since she did all the work without a husband. Her husband died years ago, and so it had always been Ivy and her daughter, Rachel alone. She seated her down now, strategizing ways her own daughter could become the CEO of the family instead of Emily.

Rachel was an exact replica of her mother, as they both shared the same traits of Ivy's late grandfather. Slender, long brown full hair, and beautiful blue eyes.

"Well I do understand what you're trying to say mother," Rachel said calmly, and Ivy listened patiently. There was a form of respect between the two of them as well as there was a deep mutual relationship as well.

"But we need to be really smart here." She said,

"Maybe. But I only need to connect with the people at the top. That's all. Once that has been arranged, then your name will be all over the news soon, and before you know it, you're the winner of the bidding."

"Then I'll become the next CEO of the Wilson's family." A smile began to form on her face as she completed her mother's statement.

"Correct, my darling daughter." And together, they both cheered to their soon to come jubilation.

Ivy was envious of her sister Ava, and her twin brother who had been blessed with a set of twins—two boys—and a little girl. She was the only one with just one child, and all of it was due to the fact that her husband died twenty years ago. Ever since then, she had vowed never to get married again.

And after nights of condemning herself, she finally realized that her daughter had been a real blessing. Since that sudden moment of realization hit her, she had loved and cherished her daughter ever since then.

Now, she was on her way to becoming the mother of the family's CEO.

How intriguing that was!

Lex Wilson was not one to back down to a challenge, especially when it involved his sisters. Sure his own kids had been little and there was no guarantee that people under 18 would be allowed to become the family CEO, he wasn't certain about that yet.

He would be winning that spot for himself. That was his own plan.

There was an association called the Brotherhood, where they were all a set of powerful men. He knew he wouldn't be able to beat his sisters on his own, and so he had decided to reach out to his friends.

They would help him settle everything that would be needed for him to win the bidding. His own name would be announced as the winner, no matter the cost.

Lex might have been blessed with some of his mother's traits such as black hair and brown eyes, but he as well had his father's tall and medium built physique–though he occasionally worked out to maintain that physique.

That only meant one thing to him. He would be as successful and powerful as his father once used to be, and become rich as his mother was at the moment.

Ava was not relaxing either. She met with the Griffith household, and normally, Jed's sister, Esther always represented the whole household.

"Here," Ava passed a cup of tea over to the petite woman before her. Jed was exactly twice the age as Emily, while Esther was four years younger. She was younger, yet smarter than Jed himself.

"Everything is going well according to plan," Esther said, adjusting her glasses. "Jed has applied for the bid, and he's pulling some strings as we speak. So he will win. And then, both families can join hands together after their marriage."

"Not after their marriage. Even before." Ava said, smiling slightly. "I shall have Emily sent over to your brother soon, and then even before you know it, both of them will become acquainted! Our plan is really going as expected." She said with full confidence.

The woman before her smiled in return, loving the path their conversation was heading to. They would soon agree and finally, she would become part of the household of the great Wilsons!

"This is indeed great news. I feel bad for your daughter though."

Ava frowned. "Why would you? Because she has to divorce her poor husband? She sees it all now. Her marriage to Brad was not for the best. Now, she must choose to save her family and save her own life as well from poverty. All will be well now. So don't feel bad for her at all, alright?"

The woman was forced to nod her head in agreement even when she had not believed Ava one tiny bit.
