Three years ago, Colonel Daniel Marsh buried his rank and his name to become an ordinary man for the woman he loved.  Today he's "the useless husband" until the same afternoon he was fired from a dead-end job over missing inventory, someone burned down the one man who could prove it was sabotage.  By nightfall, his father-in-law is moving to seize his daughter's inheritance. By midnight, Daniel realizes both events are connected  and that someone has been watching him far longer than anyone in his family knows.
