The heavy, rhythmic thudding of Master Tie’s footsteps seemed to shake the very foundation of the Grand Horizon Hotel’s red carpet.

The seven-foot-tall underground fighter cracked his neck, the sound like dry wood snapping, and looked down at Lin Fan with eyes full of absolute, unfiltered disgust.

The crowd of socialites, who had been momentarily stunned by the five-hundred-million-dollar flex, quickly found their voices again. The whispers started low, but they quickly swelled into a chorus of mocking sneers.

"Five hundred million? So what?" a woman in a diamond choker whispered loudly to her friend. "Money can't buy muscle. He’s still a three-foot-four freak. That giant is going to fold him up and use him as a coaster."

"Exactly," her friend agreed, fanning herself. "It’s disgusting. The Su family is letting a genetic defect represent them. No amount of crypto luck can hide the fact that he’s physically defective."

Down on the pavement, Zhao Feng was grinning through his bloody teeth. He spat a glob of red onto the carpet and pointed at Lin Fan.

"You hear that, you little bastard? You can buy the catering company, but you can't buy your way out of a broken spine! Master Tie, don't kill him. Just paralyze him. I want him to spend the rest of his life drooling in a corner."

But before Master Tie could even take a step, the people who were supposed to be Lin Fan’s family completely threw him under the bus.

"Qing'er, we need to leave right now!" Madam Su shrieked, grabbing her daughter’s arm so hard it left bruises.

She was practically hiding behind Su Qing, using her tall daughter as a human shield.

"This useless dwarf brought a murderer to our gala! If we stay, we’ll get caught in the crossfire!"

"Yeah! Let the freak handle it!" Su Hao yelled from behind a terrified waiter, his voice cracking. "If Master Tie kills him, it’s just natural selection! Let's go, Mom!"

Su Qing stood frozen, her knuckles white as she gripped the carton of soy milk Lin Fan had handed her. She looked at her mother and brother with sheer disgust, but then she looked at Lin Fan.

Her husband was just standing there, his hands in his pockets, looking completely unbothered by the seven-foot monster towering over him.

"Lin Fan, get down," Su Qing hissed, her voice trembling with a mix of fear and frustration. "You can't fight him. He’s a professional killer. Just apologize to Young Master Zhao and beg for mercy. Please!"

Even now, even after he supposedly dropped half a billion on a whim, she still saw him as a fragile, useless child who needed to hide behind her skirt.

She was looking down on his courage, completely blind to the fact that he was the most dangerous thing on this red carpet.

Lin Fan slowly pulled his hands out of his pockets and stretched his short arms, letting out a quiet yawn.

He looked up at Master Tie, who was currently trying to figure out how to even aim a punch at someone whose head barely reached his kneecap.

"Zhao Feng pays you to break my legs?" Lin Fan asked, his voice carrying easily over the murmuring crowd.

Master Tie grunted, his voice a deep, gravelly rumble. "I charge double for midgets. Bending over gives me a backache. I’ll just stomp your skull in."

"Fair enough," Lin Fan said. He took a single step forward.

Master Tie didn't bother with any fancy martial arts stances. He just raised his massive, tape-wrapped right leg and brought his foot down in a brutal, axe-kick aimed directly at the top of Lin Fan’s head.

The sheer force of the swing displaced the air, making a few of the women in the front row scream. It was a strike meant to cave in a cinderblock.

Lin Fan didn’t dodge. He didn’t block. He just casually raised his right hand, palm open, and caught the descending sole of Master Tie’s size-fourteen combat boot.

*SMACK.*

The sound was like a whip cracking. The kinetic energy of the seven-foot giant’s kick was instantly absorbed and nullified by Lin Fan’s small, seemingly delicate palm.

Master Tie’s eyes bulged in shock. His leg just... stopped. It felt like he had kicked a solid pillar of tungsten buried deep in the earth.

"What the—" Master Tie started to grunt, trying to pull his leg back.

But Lin Fan’s fingers clamped down on the boot like a steel trap. With a simple, effortless twist of his wrist, Lin Fan applied a fraction of his Asura density into the giant's ankle.

*CRACK-SNAP.*

The sound of Master Tie’s fibula and tibia shattering echoed across the silent red carpet.

"GRAAAAGH!" Master Tie roared, a sound of pure, unadulterated agony. His leg gave out completely, and because his center of gravity was so high, the massive seven-foot fighter tipped forward like a felled redwood.

He hit the marble floor face-first with a sickening *THUD*, shaking the ground. He writhed in the dirt, clutching his mangled leg, crying like a beaten child.

Lin Fan casually dusted off his palm, slipped his hands back into his pockets, and looked down at the sobbing giant. "You were right," Lin Fan said, his voice perfectly calm. "Bending over is a chore. Good thing you came down to my level."

The entire plaza was dead silent. The socialites had their hands over their mouths. Zhao Feng’s jaw was literally hanging open, his brain completely failing to process what he had just witnessed.

But then, the sheer, unfiltered toxicity of the Su family kicked in.

"Look what you did!" Madam Su suddenly shrieked, stepping out from behind Su Qing and pointing a trembling, accusatory finger at Lin Fan. "You broke his leg! Do you have any idea how much a lawsuit is going to cost us?! He’s an underground fighter, his family will sue the Su Group into the ground!"

"You violent little monster!" Su Hao chimed in, suddenly feeling brave now that the giant was crying on the floor. "You could have just let him beat you! Now you’ve ruined the gala and made us look like criminals!"

They weren't looking at him with awe. They weren't looking at him with respect. They were looking at him like he was a naughty toddler who had just spilled juice on the carpet. They completely ignored the fact that he had just one-shot a seven-foot killing machine. To them, he was still just the useless, defective son-in-law who was causing them social inconvenience.

Su Qing stared at her husband. She looked at the crying giant, then at the perfectly calm, three-foot-four man who hadn't even broken a sweat. Her mind was racing, trying to connect the dots. *He caught a kick from a seven-foot man with one hand. His bones are too hard. He healed Su Hao’s hand in a second. He has five hundred million dollars.*

But when she opened her mouth, all she could say was, "Lin Fan... why do you always have to make a scene? Can't you just let things go for one day?"

Lin Fan looked at his wife, then at his screaming mother-in-law, and finally at Zhao Feng, who was slowly backing away toward his car. A cold, dark amusement flickered in his eyes.

*They really never learn,* Lin Fan thought. *It doesn't matter if I buy the city or break their bones. To them, I'll always be the dwarf.*

"Alright, Qing'er," Lin Fan said, his voice dripping with fake meekness. "I'll try to be more careful next time. But I think Young Master Zhao is leaving. Should we go say goodbye?"

The atmosphere in the Su Group’s executive lobby was thick with panic and the smell of sweat. Elder Kuang was still lying on the conference room carpet, twitching and drooling, while his disciples had long since fled in terror. Madam Su was pacing a trench into the floor, screaming at anyone who would listen. "We’re ruined! The Zhao family is going to bury us! And it’s all because this clumsy, good-for-nothing dwarf can’t hold onto a thermos!" Lin Fan was sitting quietly on a leather sofa, sipping from a backup carton of soy milk he’d pulled from his pocket. "I told you, Mother Su. It was an accident. Gravity is a harsh mistress." Before Madam Su could launch into another tirade, the glass doors of the lobby burst open. Su Hao stumbled in, looking like he’d been dragged through a sewer. His clothes were torn, his hair was a mess, and his eyes were wide with a mixture of sheer terror and drunken hysteria. He had just escaped the Black Lotus Casino by the skin of his teeth after t

The morning sun did nothing to brighten the suffocating, toxic atmosphere inside the Su family villa. In fact, the screaming had started before the sun even came up. "Ten million! The Zhao family is demanding ten million in medical fees for Master Tie’s leg, and they’re threatening to call in all of the Su Group’s loans!" Madam Su shrieked, pacing the living room floor like a caged, hysterical hen. She spun around, pointing a trembling, manicured finger at Lin Fan, who was quietly sitting at the kitchen island, trying to enjoy a piece of plain toast. "And that’s not even the worst part! Master Tie’s master, the famous Iron Palm Grandmaster Elder Kuang, is coming to the Su Group headquarters at noon! If we don’t hand you over, he’s going to cripple all of us!"Lin Fan slowly chewed his toast, swallowed, and took a sip of his cheap soy milk. "Hand me over? Mother Su, I’m starting to think you don’t actually like me.""Shut up, you useless freak!" Su Hao yelled from the couch, where he

  • Chapter 7- The dragon God of venture capital

The silence on the red carpet was so thick you could carve it with a knife. The flashbulbs had stopped popping. The socialites were frozen with their champagne glasses halfway to their mouths. Everyone was staring at the three-foot-four man in the cheap, hemmed slacks, and then down at the billionaire catering mogul groveling in front of him."What the fuck did you just call him?!" Zhao Feng roared, spitting a mouthful of blood onto the red carpet. He scrambled to his feet, his face twisted in ugly, purple rage. "He’s a bum! He’s a literal dwarf! You’re talking to the wrong guy, you senile bastard!"Mr. Jin flinched at the shouting, but before he could open his mouth to defend his boss, he felt a sharp, localized pressure on his right foot. Lin Fan had casually stepped forward and planted his cheap canvas shoe squarely on Mr. Jin’s instep. To the onlookers, it just looked like a short guy awkwardly shifting his weight. But Mr. Jin, who was currently having his metatarsals ground into

  • Chapter 6- The cover charge

The next morning, the Su family villa was a whirlwind of expensive perfume and frantic yelling. Madam Su was barking orders at the maid, while Su Hao was practically doing a victory lap in the living room, his fully healed hand flexing as he showed off to his friends on the phone. Lin Fan, meanwhile, was sitting at the kitchen island, quietly eating a bowl of plain oatmeal. He was wearing his only "nice" outfit: a slightly faded gray button-down shirt and a pair of black slacks that he had to have hemmed three times because they kept dragging on the floor. His burner phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out and read the text from Secretary Yan. *Boss, the acquisition is complete. The Golden Lotus Catering Group is 100% yours. The funds were routed through three shell companies. Awaiting your instructions for the Zhao family gala.*Lin Fan took a slow sip of his oatmeal, his thumb hovering over the screen. He didn't want to ruin the food completely—that would be too obvious—but

Dr. Wang’s laughter echoed off the sterile white tiles of the VIP room, loud and grating. The nurses outside the glass partition were giggling too, whispering behind their hands as they looked at Lin Fan like he was a talking cartoon animal. "Delivered a pizza? No, I think he delivers bad luck," Dr. Wang sneered, adjusting his gold-rimmed glasses. He turned his back on Lin Fan, dismissing him entirely. "Nurses! Prep the patient for a manual bone reduction. We don’t have time for general anesthesia, and frankly, the Su family isn't paying for it. Just bite down on this leather strap, Su Hao. This is going to hurt."Su Hao’s face drained of whatever little color it had left. "Wait, what? No anesthesia? Doc, I read that manual reduction without numbing can cause nerve damage! I play golf, I need my grip!""Shut up and take the strap, you spoiled brat," Dr. Wang snapped, his arrogant facade slipping to reveal the sadistic impatience underneath. He grabbed Su Hao’s swollen, mangled wrist
