“Is–is this young man alright?!”
A wave of noisy comments erupted. However, the driver of the luxury car with the prancing horse logo that had hit Alex immediately got out. She ran toward Alex with only a faint trace of guilt on her face.
“Wait, what’s your name? I’m in a hurry… Though you were also at fault for not watching the road… I was driving too fast as well. Inside this Royal VIP card, there’s $1,000 as my compensation.”
She was a young lady from the Wine family—Wine Clara. A young entrepreneur engaged in the antique business in Draken City. Besides her popularity, she was famous for her sharp eye in appraising antiques. The girl was also the heir of a highly respected conglomerate family.
Alex paused for a moment, staring at the white card handed to him. He vaguely understood that living in a new world required something as a means of exchange. Just like cultivators needed spirit stones, or gold coins—so he accepted it without hesitation.
“What a coincidence…”
“If you experience any health issues after getting checked at the nearest hospital… you can find me on Wine Grace Antique Street.”
Nodding, Alex—feeling the crowd growing larger—quickly avoided the onlookers. Using the memories of the original body’s owner, he walked toward the outskirts of Draken City, where small families had built their homes.
After fifteen minutes, he arrived at the Permai Damai residential complex.
Several pairs of eyes looked at Alex with pity. No one knew what had happened, but Alex sensed that something bad was waiting for him at home.
When he finally stood in front of a slightly rundown house, three burly men in black jackets stared at him with cold grins at the corners of their lips.
“Alex… you’re finally back. Now… pay your father’s debt! Otherwise, this house—this house will become our legitimate payment!”
Facing the debt collectors without fear, Alex stepped forward, recalling the amount of debt left behind by the original owner’s father.
“Pay the debt of someone whose whereabouts are unknown? You’re mistaken. This house belongs to my late mother, and it has nothing to do with my father’s assets. If you want the debt repaid, go find my father. This house has nothing to do with him!”
The faces of the three debt collectors darkened as they slowly approached.
“You ignorant brat who doesn’t understand the rules of debt! Your father may be gone, but you’re still here! You’re his son—so the debt falls on you!”
Alex briefly glanced around the condition of the house. Neighbors had begun gathering to watch the commotion, making him feel irritated.
“How much is the debt?”
“$1,000,000 with interest!”
“Are you insane?! I clearly remember my father only left $500,000 in debt—how did it become one million?!”
One of the debt collectors grabbed Alex by the collar.
“I already told you—that’s with interest! If you can’t pay, then this crappy house will belong to us today…” His voice was filled with menace.
Alex’s expression hardened. He grabbed the hand clutching his collar and shoved it away without fear.
“What if I refuse to pay?”
“According to our boss, this house will still be ours… but there will still be $500,000 left unpaid! And since you’ve been delaying payment, we’ll give you a little gift!”
Just as the debt collector’s fist was about to land—and Alex was ready to retaliate with a punch of his own—the sharp sound of a car horn interrupted them.
BEEEEEEP!
A brand-new BMW Series car stopped nearby. Olivia, wearing the same outfit she had worn on campus, hurriedly got out. Her elegance was still evident, though panic was written all over her face.
‘Again and again, Olivia… Does she really care that much about this body?’ Alex thought as he saw her approach, carrying a suitcase full of cash.
“Don’t hurt Alex! I’ve brought $500,000! Please issue a payment receipt!”
The expressions of the three debt collectors turned feral. Seeing the beautiful figure of the girl who had just arrived made them completely forget their task.
“S–so beautiful?!”
“How can trash like Alex have a girl this pretty—and this rich?!”
Hearing those comments, Olivia’s face changed. She stepped back slightly, but her raised voice startled the vicious-looking debt collectors.
“What are you staring at?! If you dare touch me, leeches like you will be wiped out by my father!”
The three debt collectors snapped back to reality and immediately opened the suitcase. However, after counting the money, dissatisfaction appeared on their faces.
“The total debt is $1,000,000. This is only $500,000… We can issue a settlement letter, but how about you serve the three of us for one night?” One of them licked his lips.
Olivia’s footing faltered as she stepped back, her body trembling. Seeing this, Alex—who had never intended to involve Olivia—pulled the suitcase back toward himself.
“What do you mean, huh?!” one of them snapped angrily as he stepped toward Alex.
“At first, I did intend to borrow money from Olivia when I saw her come… But seeing how shameless you are, I really can’t wait to teach you a lesson!”
“Hah, you little brat. With that scrawny body, how do you plan to beat us?”
Alex prepared to punch, but his hand was immediately held back by Olivia as she quickly warned him.
“My father’s people will arrive soon to help… Don’t get into a fight, Alex. Trust me.”
“Hey, pretty girl. Maybe a middle-class rich family can buy the latest BMW, but not have private enforcers. What, do you think you’re the heir of some prestigious family in this city?” one of them sneered.
“It’s getting dark. Our boss won’t bother dealing with the two of them… Wouldn’t it be better if—” his gaze shifted toward the suitcase in Alex’s hand.
Suppressing his anger, Alex—unwilling to involve Olivia any further—threw the suitcase back.
“Fine. According to the debt amount… the remaining $500,000 will be paid within two days. Come back then to collect it.”
“Two days! And if you can’t pay by then, this girl will have to sleep with us, alright?!”
Hearing that, Alex’s fists clenched tightly, veins bulging across his thin hands.

Alex turned off his phone screen, slipped it into his jacket pocket, and stepped out of the house. The old wooden door closed slowly behind him, leaving the inherited house wrapped once again in silence.Night had fully fallen.Dim streetlights cast long shadows along the narrow alley where Alex walked. His steps were calm, unhurried, as if he were heading toward something he had long anticipated. His destination wasn’t far—an old shop at the corner of the street, its paint peeling and its signboard hanging crooked. That was where the three debt collectors who had haunted his father’s life usually gathered.Alex pushed open the half-rusted iron door.Creeeak…Inside, three men were lounging casually. Cigarettes burned, bottles of liquor lay scattered across the table. When they saw Alex enter, the three exchanged glances before curling their lips into crooked smiles.“Well, well… the kid came alone,” said the burly bald man. “Alex, right?”Alex stepped inside with steady strides, even

“Who is it?” Alex asked again, his voice low but alert.“Alex… it’s me.”The woman’s voice sounded calm, slightly hesitant, yet clearly trying to remain polite.Alex frowned. The voice wasn’t unfamiliar. He walked slowly toward the door and opened it just a crack. A woman stood outside, wearing a simple beige coat. Her hair was neatly tied back, her face beautiful with sharp features and intelligent eyes. In her hand was a black leather handbag—expensive, but understated.“Wine Clara?” Alex asked flatly. The woman smiled faintly, relief evident on her face. “Thank goodness you still remember me.”Alex opened the door fully. “Come in.”Clara was slightly surprised. She had expected questions—or even to be driven away. But Alex’s demeanor was far too calm for someone who had once been at odds with her over a trivial matter.Once inside, Clara immediately observed the house. Simple. Clean. Yet cold and eerily quiet.“Are you alone?” she asked.“Always,” Alex replied briefly.Clara nodded

Djanu stepped forward first, followed by Abel and Ruyan, who spread out in a half-circle.A formation painfully familiar to the original body’s memories.Back then, the original owner of this body always stood in the center of that circle—head lowered, trembling in fear, silently enduring the bullying until his entire body was covered in wounds. But now, the positions were reversed. The Alex of today was no longer a loser. He was a former God Cultivator, once revered across countless regions of the Immortal Realm.“So you dare challenge us here,” Abel said coldly. “This place… wasn’t it always the graveyard of your dignity?”Alex smiled faintly—a smile utterly devoid of emotion.“That’s exactly why I chose this place,” he replied calmly. “So you can experience again what you used to do.”Djanu snorted. “Bullshit. You think answering a lecturer’s questions makes you someone important?”He lunged forward instantly, his fist shooting toward Alex’s face, powerful and filled with force.Bu

Djanu curled his lips into a thin grin and prepared to throw his punch. However, in a split second, Alex had already caught his wrist. And then....“Fighting in the classroom? Do you still have any respect for me as your lecturer?”A young man with a slightly muscular build, dressed neatly, entered the classroom together with Zonia.Abel’s jaw stiffened. Djanu’s and even Ruyan’s expressions froze. For some reason, every time they were about to beat Alex, someone always appeared to stop them.“Alex… once again, you’re truly lucky,” Abel said coldly. “But once you step outside campus grounds, I’ll continue this matter.”Abel signaled Djanu to back off. Yet Alex’s grip was terrifyingly strong—like iron shackles that could only be unlocked with a special key.“W–Why…?” Djanu choked out.Alex suddenly released his grip and shoved Djanu aside.“I’ll be waiting for that time to come.”He sat down in the seat provided. Unexpectedly, Zonia sat down beside him.“Isn’t your seat in the back?” Al

Casting a brief glance at Alex’s expressionless face, several of Clara’s attendants immediately exclaimed.“T–That necklace… the one that symbolizes absolute authority!”“That’s right! It’s said this necklace was valued at over ten million dollars! But due to a sudden act of greed, it vanished without a trace! Even now, rulers of various nations are still searching for the symbol of the Blue Ocean Dragon!”Clara carefully picked up the necklace. Her appraisal could not be wrong, yet suspicion still rose within her.“Where did you get this necklace?”“I’m the same as you—someone who can judge an item with just two eyes,” Alex replied calmly. “What makes you so suspicious? Right now, I just happen to need money. How much is this necklace worth?”Clara fell silent for a moment. Even in the past, its price had reached ten million dollars. Now, after the Blue Ocean Dragon Necklace had been lost for years and suddenly resurfaced, its value would surely multiply several times over.“Based on

Glancing around his surroundings, he found no trace at all of the old vendor from earlier. Even when using his Divine Eyes, there was nothing—no shadow, no aura. The old man had truly vanished into the void.“In this new world… there’s a cultivator as well? Interesting…” Realizing who the old man truly was, Alex continued walking toward the best shop on the antique street. That shop belonged to Wine Clara—the finest antique appraiser in Draken City.Upon entering, Abel, who was browsing the items displayed on the shelves, immediately spoke to Alex.“Why are you tailing us?! Do you really think that rotten clay jar of yours can be exchanged for money here? Hahahaha! You must feel scammed, right?!”“Scammed? I don’t think so. I came here after seeing that this is the largest shop I’ve encountered… and I’m here to sell what’s inside this jar. What right do you have to comment on me?”Seeing someone he had always regarded as trash dare to speak back—almost as if challenging him—made Abel
