Chapter 7:Pond Trees

Just as the attack was about to land on Yang Zhai, a red colored light struck the wolf's stomach, the green wind wolf was sent flying by dozens of feet. Yang Zhai took the chance and took a few steps back. It was Cho Byeol.

"Thanks, if you hadn't helped me at the right time, I would have been severely injured" Yang Zhai hurriedly thanked Cho Byeol, while looking at the wind green wolf on the ground.

"Ok, but are you alright?" Cho Byeol asked while looking at Yang Zhai worriedly.

"Don't worry, I am fine," Yang Zhai answered.

The green wind wolf struggled to stand up, it was staggering. How could it be possible that it was not going to be severely injured after Cho Byeol's attack? After all, the green wind wolf was already injured, and it wasn't ready for Cho Byeol's attack. Even if it was a rank 4 beast, it still needed to defend itself. Even if Cho Byeol's attack was weak, it was enough for the injured and defenseless wind green wolf.

The green wind wolf was already prepared to attack Yang Zhai again. It took a step back and jumped towards Yang Zhai while showing its fierce teeth, it was obvious that if Yang Zhai was bitten by them, he would surely lose some flesh.

Yang Zhai took a few steps back and shot blue light again from his hand, this was Yang Zhai's attack. The blue light struck the green wind wolf's mouth, the green wind wolf's momentum stopped, and it landed on the ground. There was some blood spilling from its mouth, and it was growling in pain. It turned around and wanted to run away, but Yang Zhai knew what it was thinking and immediately took the knife from his waist and attacked the green wind wolf from behind, directly cutting one of its back legs in half. He could attack the green wind wolf's stomach, but he didn't, afraid of its counterattack. He wanted to make its movement render useless so that he could kill it easily without any injuries.

And why did he want to kill it, instead of letting it go? Because he was afraid that it would come back with even more green wind wolves.

The green wind wolf was laying on the ground now, trying to stand up. But it was already useless, even if it somehow stood up, it wouldn't matter. The speed of the green wind wolf which was its most useful ability was already rendered useless.

Yang Zhai watched its struggle and didn't want to wait any longer, so he attacked and killed the green wind wolf with the knife in his hand.

"Are you alright?" Cho Byeol hurriedly came to his side and asked with a worry on her face.

"I'm alright, what about you and the flowers?" Yang Zhai asked while making sure that the green wind wolf was dead.

"Don't worry about me and the black flower leaves are also fine, and it's not like I participated in the fight" Cho Said while smiling.

"Ok, let's rest for a while before we go back". With that said Yang Zhai started to cut the corpses of the two green wind wolves in pieces. Their body parts could be used as a material to refine some Kas and to cook some food. He didn't want his hard work to be wasted. So, after fully dismantling their corpses, he stored them.

After storing them, Yang Zhai went to the lake to wash the blood off his face and clothes. After washing the blood off his body and clothes, he went to see the condition of the black flower leaves, he wanted to make sure that there was no blood spilled on them. After making sure that there was no problem, he heaved a sigh of relief.

"Let's go back" after resting for an hour or so, Yang Zhai said to Cho Byeol who was sitting near him.

"Ok, let's go," Cho Byeol replied.

After that, both of them stood up and prepared to leave.

"I remember something, shouldn't we get some food before going back. After all, we came to get some food for us to eat for the next few weeks" Cho Byeol suddenly remembered and said.

"Oh, you remember, I thought you had already forgotten about the food after watching the yellow moonlights. What an impeccable memory," Yang Zhai said teasingly.

"I know, right. I was an intelligent person from a young age" Cho Byeol said with some pride in her eyes.

Yang Zhai:"..."

Yang Zhai was speechless at how innocent Cho Byeol was. He just made fun of her, but she took it as praise.

"Sigh, you're right, let's get some food before going back." Yang Zhai heaved a sigh and said. But still, he liked Cho Byeol's personality.

"But let's wait for the sun to come out first, we need to go into the forest to get some food. It's dangerous to go in the forest at night, and there's that Rank 5 beast as well. We can only go during the day. I was planning to go back to the cave as soon as possible, but it seems impossible now. After all, only the two wolves won't be enough for all three of us. We do need to collect some food," Yang Zhai said while looking in the direction of the forest.

"Really, we're going to stay here until the sun comes out!" When Cho Byeol heard what Yang Zhai said, she couldn't help but be happy. Even if it was dangerous, she was still happy that she could stay here until the sun comes out. After all, who would want to go back to the boring cave after watching the Yellow-moonlights?

How could he not be, after seeing that Cho Byeol still wanted to stay here after what just happened, who wouldn't be speechless?

"Hey, wake up, the sun has already risen," Yang Zhai said to Cho Byeol, who was already sleeping peacefully while her head leaning on Yang Zhai's shoulder.

Chi Byeol opened her eyes and looked towards Yang Zhai.

"It's already morning, so wake up" when Yang Zhai saw Cho Byeol looking towards him, he understood that Cho Byeol was still half asleep and said.

"Huh, ok," Cho Byeol was still half asleep and said confusedly. She was really tired after the incident last night. Even though she didn't participate in the fight last night, she was still there when Yang Zhai was fighting the green wind wolves, she was also facing the pressure.

When Yang Zhai saw that she was still half asleep and confused, he grabbed her from her arm and pulled her towards the lake. After reaching the lake, he took some water from the lake with his hands and sprinkled it on Cho Byeol's face.

Cho Byeol was jolted awake from her half-asleep state. Her body trembled a little because the water of the cave was a little cold.

"What happened?" This time, Cho Byeol was fully awake and asked Yang Zhai.

"I said, the sun has already risen, and it's time for us to go find some food," Yang Zhai said to Cho Byeol. They were already several hours late, this was because Cho Byeol kept on sleeping. Yang Zhai wanted to wake her, but when he saw that Cho Byeol was sleeping peacefully and without any worry in the world, he didn't wake her up.

Cho Byeol nodded, she knew that they were already very late and that it was because of her. So, she didn't say anything.

"Let's go, and huh, be careful because we might get attacked by some random beast," Yang Zhai said to Cho Byeol. He knew exactly where they needed to go, so he went in a certain direction of the forest after entering it. He was hoping that there wouldn't be any danger on the way.

After some time, they arrived at their destination. It was a place filled with trees that looked exactly like willow trees, and around every tree was a little pond of one to two meters long. Every pond was filled with water and from time to time, there would be some movements in every pond.

"These trees are known as pond trees, they're one of the different types of willow trees. In every pond, you'll find Rank 1 fish-type beasts. And every beast in these ponds possesses a different kind of taste. And when you cook two or more than two of them together, their taste gets even better. This is something I discovered when I first arrived here." Yang Zhai said while looking toward the ponds. His face was still the same as before without any kind of expression on it. He was already used to eating them, so he didn't feel any excitement.

"What are the beasts, living in the ponds known as?" Cho Byeol asked Yang Zhai.

"I don't exactly know what they are known as. After all, I also hadn't known about them before discovering them. But I do know that they are edible" Yang Zhai replied.

"So, how do we capture them?" Cho Byeol asked, not knowing how to capture them.

"It's simple, just watch me," Yang Zhai said while walking towards one of the ponds.

He grabbed a wooden stick from the ground, which was nearest to him, then he broke some of the leaves of the pond tree and tied them on the wooden stick. Then he put the tip of the wooden stick in the pond and waited for a while. After a while, the wooden stick began to move and it was being pulled by something. Yang Zhai hurriedly pulled the wooden stick out of the pond and saw that there was a fish-type Rank 1 beast on it.

He stored the fish and said to Cho Byeol,

"See, just how easy it is,"

Cho Byeol nodded, and said,

"Let me have a try"

After saying this, she went ahead and picked a wooden stick for herself as well. She did exactly the same as Yang Zhai, breaking some leaves of the tree, wrapping them around the wooden stick, and putting it inside the pond.

After waiting for a while, the stick began to move and was being pulled inside the water by something. When she pulled the stick out of the pond, she saw a fish-type beast biting the wooden stick.

But there was a difference this time around. The one, which was caught by Yang Zhai, was light red, and the one caught by Cho Byeol was blue with silver dots on it.

"Why are their colors different?" Cho Byeol asked with confusion on her face.

"It's simple because the one you caught has absorbed more air than the one I caught. When they absorb more air, they develop dots with different colors," Yang Zhai answered without any expression on his face.
