At that moment, Chief Raul and his men finally realized who these people really were.

They were subordinates of the "Lord of the Abyss."

The "Lord of the Abyss" was a figure of immense military power.

He controlled key trade routes, strategic territories, and wielded influence that extended into neighboring countries.

Seeing someone as formidable as him paying respect to Max left them both astonished and deeply impressed.

Chief Raul looked at Max with a newfound perspective.

In his heart, he reflected, if someone as influential as the "Lord of the Abyss" showed such respect to Max, then Max’s reputation must far exceed anyone’s imagination.

Max didn’t need to rely on corruption, threats, or underhanded methods to gain influence.

His very presence was enough to command authority and control any situation.

Chief Raul pondered for a moment.

If someone like Max ever turned his back on Morow State, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Only devastation would remain.

Moments later, the young man accompanying them stepped forward and opened the car door in front of Max.

With calm yet commanding steps, Max got into the car.

Before the door closed, he spoke briefly, “I’m heading to Mount Arleth.”

The convoy began to move.

Rows of armed vehicles advanced in perfect formation, catching the attention of the locals who came out of their homes to witness the spectacle.

No one said a word, but their expressions reflected curiosity and reverence.

***

At Mount Arleth

Upon reaching the base of Mount Arleth, another astonishing scene unfolded.

Warlord troops, who usually fought fiercely in the area, appeared unusually subdued.

The once-brutal soldiers lowered their weapons, standing along the roadside with their heads bowed.

Not a single person dared to speak or make a reckless move.

The cold mountain air was sharp, carrying the distinct scent of frost-covered ground.

At the summit, silence prevailed, broken only by the sound of the wind.

Max exited the car and walked alone toward a solitary tombstone standing resolutely in the frozen earth.

When Chief Raul mustered the courage to step closer, an unsettling sensation crept over him.

The atmosphere atop Mount Arleth was quiet yet weighed down by an invisible pressure.

Curiosity got the better of him, and he approached the young man.

In a hushed tone, Chief Raul asked, “Why is there a tombstone in this place?”

The young man immediately turned with a firm expression and hurriedly covered Chief Raul’s mouth with his hand.

His eyes were sharp and filled with warning as he whispered.

“Never ask questions that should not be asked!”

Chief Raul was startled by the sudden reaction.

But before he could protest, the young man continued in a low yet steady voice,

“This is a sacred peak. No one dares disturb it, let alone act recklessly here.”

“Even if rivers of blood flowed at the mountain’s base, no one would dare move. The peace of this place must not be violated.”

Max carefully placed the offerings he had prepared in front of the tombstone.

Fresh flowers and lit candles were arranged with deliberate respect.

The flames flickered but remained steady despite the relentless mountain wind.

Max’s face remained calm, showing no visible emotion.

It turned out that the tombstone belonged to Max’s late mentor.

In a quiet but resolute voice, Max spoke to the tombstone.

“I have followed all your instructions,” he said steadily.

“I have safeguarded Morow State as you wished.

“This state is no longer plagued by chaos and war. Now, the people here can live in peace.”

Max paused briefly, his gaze fixed on the tombstone, “Morow State has grown, just as you envisioned.”

“Now, it is time for me to leave.”

The wind suddenly grew colder, howling as if in response to Max’s words.

A snowstorm began to form at the summit, with snowflakes swirling violently around them.

Max stood unmoved in the heart of the storm, his posture as unyielding as the mountain itself.

Lower Floor, Max Corp Building 06:45 AM The air in the room was cold, dry, and smelled faintly of metal. Not because of the air conditioning, but because of intensity. The mental temperature was far hotter than the numbers on the wall panel. Zoza and the twenty men behind him stood in formation, bodies upright, muscles tightly defined. Three weeks of non-stop training had turned them into something else. On the tactical balcony above, Max stood with his hands behind his back, observing them like an architect evaluating his final masterpiece. On the other side, Frans leaned casually against the railing, still wearing an old hoodie and dusty sneakers, but with a satisfied look on his face. Behind him stood five Grandmaster Academy alumni, old friends of his. They had come to test the recruits. The result? A tie. If the public knew that the one who trained this unit was Frans Arturo, the former elite loser now known as the most reckless, loud, and absurd director at Max Corp, they p

Vesula City, Morow State – Ordic Corp Headquarters The Ordic Corp building towered like a black obsidian monolith in the heart of Vesula’s eastern business district. Its glossy black walls were lined with faint glowing blue veins, like the pulse of a giant machine. On the 77th floor, the CEO’s office was dimly lit, filled with the faint metallic scent of unreleased experimental technology. A young man in formal attire rushed into the room. He was the personal assistant of Zakaria Thorne, the CEO of Ordic Corp. “Mr. Zakaria,” he said urgently. “News just came in. Max Corp has officially been approved to enter Vesula. They purchased a building right in the center of our influence zone.” Silence. Zakaria Thorne, dressed in a sleek metallic gray suit with silver hair slicked back, slowly stood from his chair. His fists clenched at his sides. His eyes radiated a dangerous tension. “I warned them,” he muttered, voice rumbling. “Five years of Max dominating Lanua City... wasn't that e

Less than twenty-four hours after that conversation, the storm arrived like a promise kept. Fifteen Ladder Corp staff members involved in corruption, embezzlement, and internal sabotage were arrested at the same time by the Lanua City Police, now under the command of Chief Raul. The operation began at 4:35 a.m. There were no warnings, no polite summons. Just the sound of boots, cold handcuffs, and firm orders. "Down or we’ll put you on your knees." Everything moved fast. The national audit team worked directly with the police. Data was handed over. Arrest warrants were signed. And one by one, the fifteen were picked up like cheap thieves.*** In the interrogation room at the Lanua City detention center... Five of the most influential senior staff from Ladder Corp sat behind a long steel table. Their hands were cuffed, their faces full of anger. One of them, a middle-aged man in an expensive but now wrinkled shirt, growled. His name was Clive Darnell, former Head of Internal Fin

Lysa. The new CEO of Ladder Corp. A dark-haired woman with sharp eyes and a strong yet striking face, dressed in a clean, perfectly tailored dark gray suit. In her left hand, she carried the latest-gen iPad with a reflective carbon screen. Frans froze in the doorway. Then, forgetting he had planned to leave, he turned around and sat right back down in the chair across from Max’s desk. Max said nothing. He just glanced up for a second, as if he could already predict Frans’ flirty behavior just by hearing his breathing. Lysa stood gracefully and said in a flat tone, “I need to speak with you, Mr. Max. It’s confidential.” She looked briefly at Frans, hoping he would take the hint and leave the room. Frans raised his hand immediately. “If it’s a secret, that means I definitely need to hear it. I’m great at keeping secrets. I even forgot my own birthday once, that’s how secretive I am.” Max didn’t react. But Lysa just looked at Frans with cool professionalism. “Sorry, Director Frans

"Hmm… but I know," Frans said after calming down from his laughter. Frans knew exactly what kind of enemies Max was talking about. Not just greedy corporations, not just global economic cartels, or typical business rivals. No...it was something much older. Something darker. The kind of enemies tied to ancient forces, the same power now flowing through Max’s veins — the legacy of Lord Hades. "Alright then. If you're looking for enemies..." Frans said with a sly smile, "I'll help you find the most annoying ones." Max didn’t answer. He just turned his eyes back to the screen, cold and distant, almost inhuman. But Frans knew... Max heard him. Frans Arturo wasn’t just some regular guy. Six years ago, he was a loser and an alcoholic. The disgrace of an elite business family in Morow who regretted ever letting him be born. He graduated from White Iron School, the most prestigious business and martial arts academy in the state. He should’ve been a golden child. But no. His father

Three days had passed since the first training session. And for Zoza and his men, those three days felt like three months of silent hell. Frans didn’t let a single one of them touch a weapon. No sparring, no fights. Just basic stances, breathing techniques, and body correction drills repeated over and over again with military-level discipline. Sweat poured like rain. Neck veins popped. A few of them even threw up during the internal energy breathing exercises, which demanded complete control over both body and emotions. Zoza nearly snapped on the second day. “What’s the point of all this?!” he yelled at Frans, panting hard, hands trembling from two hours straight of isometric tension drills. Frans stared back at him. "You wanna learn how to fight, or just feed your ego?” His voice hit like a whip, slicing straight through pride. Zoza said nothing. But he went right back into his stance without another word. *** Frans Arturo’s footsteps echoed steadily against the marb
