Isabelle’s breath caught in her throat as she stared down at Adrian’s seemly lifeless body.
“Lucian,” she whispered, “What do we do now?” Lucian got back to his feet and spat right on Adrian’s face. Then the next moment, his lips curled into a cruel smile. "Perfect! Let's stick to the original plan, then." “We toss him overboard, into the sea.” “We’re in the middle of the ocean. No witnesses. No evidence. Just a tragic ‘accident.’” Isabelle shuddered but her eyes lit up. Yeah, they could stick to their original plan! The only difference was that Adrian wasn’t drugged beforehand, but instead got knocked out by her. But then, it made no difference, did it? Lucian was already moving. He quickly rolled a sheet over Adrian's body and began dragging Adrian toward the door. BOOM! RING! RING! RING!!! However, just as they reached the cabin door, a loud crash echoed from further down the corridor. And the alarm grew louder and louder. And then, there were footsteps and voices. Isabelle’s breath caught in her throat. Someone had pulled a nearby emergency alarm and people were coming this way. Lucian cursed under his breath. “Shit. We need to move...” The voices grew louder, nearing their room. Throwing someone into the sea without anyone noticing was one thing; being caught in the act was another. He didn’t like the idea of being caught. So, without hesitating, Lucian hissed, “Move!” He grabbed Isabelle’s wrist and yanked her towards the balcony door. “Lucky you, bastard!” With one last glance at Adrian lying behind the half-closed cabin door, Isabelle turned and bolted. As Lucian and Isabelle disappeared into the distance of the corridor, neither of them noticed a trickle of Adrian’s blood slowly soaking into the pendant around his neck. And then, a faint, glowing white light pulsed from it. It flickered once, then twice ,,, and totally surged into Adrian’s body like a living force. The deep wound on Adian’s head immediately sealed itself. The bruises quickly faded and were replaced by smooth skin. If anyone were there to watch, they would surely be astonished. But the transformation ran deeper than the eye could see. Adrian’s shattered bones fused back together. His torn muscles regenerated, stronger than before. Every cell in his body was revitalized, restructured, perfected. And then, without warning, the door burst open again. A beautiful woman staggered inside. Her delicate fingers trembled as she slammed the door shut behind her, shutting out whoever was far behind her. She locked it with a shaky hand before she fell unconscious. Meanwhile, as Adrian slipped into unconsciousness, an ethereal voice echoed in his mind. "Time has shifted, the seas turned to fields. Over a century has passed since Terra's Great Cataclysm. Now, Terra’s will has awakened anew, its energy eternal, seeking a new heir. Remember—the bearer must uphold righteousness, and defeat evil invasions. Should one fall into darkness, their soul will be utterly destroyed." The next moment, Adrian ‘saw’ the pendant that his mother had left him before her death suddenly transformed into a blazing phoenix wreathed in flames and frost. And with a shrill cry, it shot straight into his forehead. "Ah—!"Latest Chapter

"You called, Boss?" she asked, her eyes fixed on the cowering Marcus. "Take Marcus on a brief flight around the city," Adrian ordered, his voice cold and flat. "Teach him what it feels like to be truly helpless. When you are done, dump his body where the vultures can have what’s left. I never want to see his face in this realm again." Marcus’s laughter died instantly. He stumbled back, his face turning a pasty, sickly white. "What? No! Stay back! What are you? Don't you dare come close to me!" Lyra stepped toward him, a wicked, predatory smile spreading across her face. "Oh, don't be like that, Marcus. You said you wanted to reach the top of the world, didn't you? How would you like to go on a fun little flight?" "Keep away from me! Guards! Someone!" Marcus screamed, scrambling backward, but there was no one left to save him. Lyra reached out, her fingers locking onto his collar with the strength of an iron vice. With a casual flick of her wrist, she vaulted into the air, draggi

Vanessa watched in horror and awe. She had never seen anything like this. Adrian tore through the elite guards as if they were made of paper. Marcus backed away, his face turning pale as his "army" dwindled to nothing in a matter of minutes. The last guard, a giant of a man, lunged at Adrian with a roar. Adrian stepped inside the man’s reach, delivered a lightning-fast strike to his solar plexus, and then a spinning kick that sent the man crashing into the oil drum.Adrian stood alone amidst the wreckage of three hundred men. He looked down at his arm, where a small piece of a guard's flesh was stuck to his sleeve. He flicked it off with a look of pure disgust."Do you still think you’re in charge, Marcus?" Adrian asked, his voice calm, which made it even more terrifying.Marcus looked around at his fallen army, his chest heaving. He looked terrified, trapped, and utterly broken. Adrian took a step toward him, the emerald light in his eyes beginning to flare. "I warned you to release
CHAPTER 691
Adrian’s fists curled at his sides, the leather of his gloves creaking. The emerald glow in his chest pulsed once, a heartbeat of pure power. "Let her go. Now."Marcus laughed, the sound bouncing off the cold concrete. "You still have the guts to shout? Look around you, boy! There are more than enough guards on every floor to tear you apart. Don't tempt me, or they will finish you on the spot!"Marcus reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, silver vial filled with a glowing, amber liquid. He set it on a rusted oil drum between them."To save her life, all you have to do is this: inject yourself with this vial. It’s a fast-acting neurotoxin. You’ll be dead within minutes, it's quite painless, mostly... and then I’ll let her go. That’s the deal. It’s as simple as that. One life for one life."Adrian looked at the vial, then back at Marcus, his expression utterly bored. "And if I refuse?""Then you die, and she dies," Marcus snapped. "But this way, you get to be the hero. You get

Marcus laughed, a dry, rasping sound. "I’d love to see you try. Lilith’s father was just the beginning, Adrian. I’m going to take you out one by one. You’ll be the last one to die. I can’t wait to feel what your 'awakened' blood tastes like.""I will kill you before you harm another soul," Adrian vowed."Is that so?" Marcus chuckled. "Well, there’s someone I’d like you to meet."Marcus hit a button, switching the call to a live video feed. He held the camera up to Vanessa’s face."VANESSA!" Adrian screamed through the phone, the sound so loud it distorted the speakers.Marcus reached out and grabbed a handful of Vanessa’s hair, yanking her head back violently. Vanessa let out a muffled, agonized scream behind the gag, her eyes filled with tears as she looked into the camera at Adrian."Let her go! Let her go right now!" Adrian’s voice roared through the speaker, vibrating with a power that seemed to crackle the very air in the room.Marcus threw his head back and laughed, a jagged, ug

She fought with everything she had, kicking and scratching, but the men were professionals. One of them grabbed her by the hair and dragged her out onto the cold concrete. As she opened her mouth to scream again, a thick cloth was pressed firmly over her nose and mouth. The sweet, chemical smell of chloroform filled her lungs. Within seconds, her vision blurred, her limbs turned to lead, and the world went black. When Vanessa finally groaned and blinked her eyes open, the first thing she felt was a throbbing pain in her head. She tried to move her hands, but they were pulled tight behind her back, bound to a heavy wooden chair with thick rope. Her ankles were tied to the chair legs, and a rough cloth gag was tied across her mouth, muffling her breath. She looked around frantically. She was in a hollowed-out, uncompleted building. The walls were bare concrete, and the only light came from a single, flickering bulb hanging from the ceiling."Mmmph! Mmmph!" she screamed, but it only cam
