The room beyond was unlike the rest of the café.

It felt like a mini palace: velvet armchairs, crystal vases filled with blood-red roses, bookshelves lined with ancient manuscripts and modern medical journals.

Sophia stepped forward with her usual grace. Her heels clicked lightly against the polished marble as she gestured between the two men.

“Adrian,” she said, her tone shifting into something unusually formal, “meet Dr. Alaric Wexford.”

She turned sl

The mob erupted as they surged forward with pure rage. “Rot in jail!” a teenager bellowed, chucking an apple that smashed against Johnson’s chest, leaving a stain. “You sold our hope for cash!” screamed an elderly man, flinging a tattered shoe that clipped Lee’s ear.Trash rained down on them... coffee cups, crumpled papers, half-eaten sandwiches... Anything the crowd could muster. “Monsters!” a mother cried, her voice breaking as she threw a plastic bottle, hitting Kane’s back. Kane tried to stand tall, but his face burned red with fury and shame as a rotten tomato splattered across his cheek, dripping down his jaw. “Get back, you filth!” he snarled, twisting against the officers’ grip, but his voice was drowned by the crowd’s relentless chants. “Burn in hell, Kane!” “No mercy for snakes!”Edgar cowered, his knees buckling as a soda can struck his shoulder. Johnson and Lee staggered with their heads low, trying to dodge, but all their attempts were futile. The crowd pressed clo

He pulled a flash drive from his pocket. He plugged it into the projector. The screen lit up with files."First, Cobra's final call logs and texts." Adrian clicked. Logs appeared, showing Kane's number. "You ordered the kidnapping of Eliza Vance. You ordered assassination attempts on my team. I got it all from Cobra's phone after I dealt with him."Kane's eyes widened. "That's fabricated! Lies!""Next, the bribes." Adrian opened spreadsheets and emails. "You paid Edgar here fifty thousand to vote against us. And others too... Look, transfers to board members Johnson and Lee."Edgar nodded weakly. "It's true... he did."Johnson jumped up. "No! I deny it! That's not me!"Lee shook his head. "Fake! All fake!"But the evidence scrolled on, bank records clear as day."And this." Adrian played a video. Surveillance from Vance's home showed Cobra's men bursting in and grabbing Eliza while she struggled with them. The board gasped.Vance stepped forward, staring at Kane with pure hate. "I nev

"Your family's name is trash now, Rowan..""Shambles, utter shambles! All that talk of miracles, and what do you have? A failed vote and a ruined reputation." "Kane Pharmaceuticals will reign supreme. I'll flood the market with real drugs, crush every competitor, and watch your empire turn to dust. You thought you could challenge me? Pathetic! This is my victory, and I'll savor every..." Adrian moved like a blur, faster than anyone could blink. He pulled a syringe from his inner coat pocket and lunged at Edgar, one of the bribed board members. Before Edgar could flinch, Adrian jabbed the needle into his neck and pushed the plunger. Edgar gasped, clutching his chest. "Ahh! What... what's this?" His face turned pale. His eyes went bloodshot and his hands shook wildly. "What's happening to me?!" Edgar cried out, his voice cracking. Adrian stepped back, calm as ice. "You have the cancer, Mr. Edgar. And you're deteriorating rapidly. I'd say you have less than an hour." Kane jumped

  • CHAPTER 233

A muscle ticked at Adrian’s temple. “Cobra,” he repeated. “Cute.” “This,” Cobra said, lifting the knife with reverence, “is the Serpent Blade. I stole from the Dragon Clan years ago. You think it’s just a blade? Think again.” He ran a fingertip along the etched spine. “It’s been dipped in the venom of the ten deadliest cobras,” Cobra whispered. “It's not a myth. One scratch, one drip, and your blood boils. Ten seconds. That’s all you get.” Adrian’s eyes narrowed at the carvings. He knew the pattern. It was indeed the serpent blade of the Dragon clan. Cobra smirked. “See that pulse on the blade?” he asked, tapping the steel. “It’s alive. This blade has been used to conquer plenty of wars; one swipe can take out a hundred men. Why so quiet now?” Adrian looked at the Serpent Blade, then up at the smug face of t
