Zombies? kill!

The next moment the entire mall descended into pure chaos as people tried to run far away from the zombies.

By now even more zombies had exited the gateways and were already on their hunting spree.

“Idiots!”

Seeing the crowd was pushing each other Dante couldn't help but let out a curse involintarily.

With the way they were behaving more people would die instead of escaping!

At this moment they were more like mindless animals running without direction rather than intelligent humans.

“I also can't stand here like this.”

Muttering to himself, Dante searched around for a suitable weapon which quickly turned out to be a mopping stick some cleaner had dropped earlier.

Twisting the head off he swung it around a bit to gain a measure of the improvised weapons limits before deciding that this was balanced enough for him to use. It wasn't perfect but at least it was better than not having a weapon on him.

At exactly the same moment a zombie arrived at his floor of the mall and their eyes met.

“It's show time!”

While everyone was trying their best to escape from the horrors behind them Dante was the only one who was actively running towards it causing the people to look at him with a “he's gone mad look" Dante however didn't mind.

In fact he didn't even see it!

" If I remember correctly this should be a rankless zombie, no? Shouldn't be difficult to take out.”

During the apocalypse in his past life there had been rankings for the levels of both zombies and mutated beasts.

The first tier was actually a rankless zombie and they were the type that usually came out of the gateways first.

Mindless beasts driven by pure instincts, they were actually easy to eliminate since they were only slightly stronger than your average human.

As long as you had some common sense they were pretty easy to kill.

After that came the ranked zombies going from the F tier straight up to the A tier. There were rumours of an higher rank above the A tier but he had never seen it before. But just the F rank was enough to use him to wipe the floor.

Heck he got done in by a measly D rank zombie king in his last life!

Shaking these thoughts off his mind he raised the stick horizontally across his chest to ward off the zombies claws at the same time he gave it a quick sweep with his leg causing it to stagger.

Before the zombie could regain it's footing the mopping stick was already smashing into its face, a mini gale forming behind it as the poor stick bent to breaking point!

CRUNCH

With a sickening crunch the zombie's entire head exploded into pieces!

The force behind the strike was so strong that the stick actually ended up breaking into two!

“Damn it I broke the stick!. “

Without even bothering to look at the dead zombie Dante rushed towards the stairs.

Although it was relatively easy to kill the zombie, that was because it was alone, if it was a horde then even he would be helpless.

Furthermore he was still an ordinary, baseline human with no weapon at that.

Along the way he changed the remaining half of the stick with a fire axe he had found. The axe had a long handle and although the blade was a bit smaller it would suffice for now or at least till the system finished it's stupid update.

With a new weapon in hand it was like Dante had become a slaughter god as he cut down the zombies like he was cutting wheat and whenever he encountered a horde he promptly took the opposite direction.

With this strategy and how effective he was at clearing the zombies it didn't take him long to arrive at the ground floor.

By now the white marble tiling had turned a deep crimson while numerous zombies could still be seen chasing after some people.

Making sure not to attract the attention of any of the zombies, Dante quickly left the mall appearing outside.

The outside of the mall was even more chaotic as there were more zombies outside along with strange monsters that were prowling the campus grounds. The whole scene looked like a purgatory!

Running towards a small ice cream shop he hid behind the counter to catch his breath.

Currently Dante's reason for even appearing on the campus in the first place had to do with something that happened in his pastlife precisely it had originated on this campus. It was so valuable back then that the military had even sent a special force inside the city back then!

If he hadn't awakened the Black gear system then this wouldn't have mattered at all and his plans would have changed but he had awakened it and he just had to get it now as it was just too valuable for him as a mechanic.

Right now his destination was the school's research laboratory which coincidentally he had worked there before.

Now that he thought about it he couldn't help but wonder if the system had predicted that this would happen hence the mission with professor Germaine.

“Growll roarr.”

He was still in thought when a zombie suddenly popped up above the counter in front of him baring it's bloody maw at him. He could see the signs of what seemed to be strips of human flesh hanging from it's teeth.

It was so disgusting that any normal person would have fainted from the putrid stench and terrifying visuals.

But was Dante normal?

Swish!

With a quick fling of his wrist the axe whistled in the air. Before the zombie could even take another step it's head was already flying in the air.

“A simple zombie like you dares to ambush me? Do you know who this daddy is? I am the great…oh shit!”

Stomping on the zombie head that was rolling towards him he was feeling smug of himself when he suddenly saw a small horde of zombies enter the small ice cream shop.

Turns out the first zombie wasn't alone!

Without hesitation Dante rushed out of the window.

He might be rash at times but he wasn't stupid this was time to run!

“Crap!”For the first time in his life Dante fully experienced what it meant to be blasted by a blow horn. His ears were ringing like crazy! That however wasn't the main thing. Running to the window his face turned even darker. The perverted look that was previously hanging on his face was long gone replaced by one of fear and panic. Zombies were inherently optimized with great sharp senses. A slight sound was enough to alert them into a frenzy. Just as he guessed all the zombies that were previously wandering aimlessly were now staggering in the direction of the male hostel block. Last night he was able to avoid facing a horde but looking at the situation now there was definitely no way he could avoid one. Throwing all these thoughts to the back of his mind he quickly turned towards the door only to see the lady standing there. Thankfully she had covered the exposed parts of her body. “I went to take a bath….” “There's no need for an explanation, it's my fault f

  • Chapter 12: They actually get that big?

As he stared at the quest window floating in front of him Dante wished that he was dreaming. Unfortunately though this wasn't a dream. The existence of a sub-quest was actually long expected by Dante at this he wasn't surprised a bit. In his opinion there was no way the system would immediately assign him the main quest without some minor quests that would serve as stepping stones to reach the main quest. It was just like playing a video game, you had to deal with the minions before you could have a chance to fight the boss! What shocked him though was the fact that he only had a single year to complete the quest! "Hey system why is the timeline a year, there's got to be something wrong with your measurements.” Frowning he muttered to the system in his head as he looked at the still suspended interface. If he didn't remember wrongly humans were still existing after a year had passed. In fact he got killed by the D-tier zombie king five years into the apocalypse s

Naturally the young man was none other than Dante! Contrary to his belief that he could shake off the zombie horde from the ice cream shop, the opposite happened instead. The bastards stuck to him like a bloody loach! Furthermore, the zombies even had the guts to call over more of their kind. If not for his sharp wits and admirable skills he would have met his maker! Eventually he was able to shake off the zombies but by then the sky was already getting dark. If you thought the horrors of the day weren't enough try nighttime! Unlike in the movies where zombies became slow and super inactive at night the zombies in real life proved otherwise as they instead became even more ferocious in dark. Plus the chance of encountering a mutated beast was even higher at this time since they treated night as their hunting time. There was no way Dante would willingly offer himself up for dinner–ever! There was a problem though—he had nowhere to stay. By now the apocalypse had

The skies of Brayden were already turning purple with a tinge of greyish black smoke in them. The first day of the apocalypse was over. The terror however wasn't! In a small piece of shrubbery next to the student dormitories, a group of three girls could be seen hiding while doing their best not to make a sound. They looked tattered and there was nothing to mention their once youthful beauty as their clothes were torn and bloodied while dirt caked up on their faces. Currently they were watching or rather were forced to watch their friend being eaten by a zombie. They had just been heading out for a quick meal at the cafeteria when the apocalypse descended, the next few hours were their worst which unfortunately led to the death of their friend. The scene before them was utterly gut wrenching enough to make the strongest willed person retch, there was nothing they could do however as any movement they made would inevitably alert the zombies to their presence. Finally a

Well not like the sky actually fell. Rather this was the result of another dimension being imposed on Earth's spatial plane! The next moment the whole world shook once more before everywhere went quiet. Immediately the sounds of sirens filled the air as police car and rescue workers rushed towards various places that reported casualties. Right when everyone was wondering how weird the last few seconds had been gigantic, blood red portals suddenly appeared in the sky, ground, oceans even in the middle of busy streets! In every continent, in every country these strange portals suddenly appeared. As if with tacit understanding military personnel suddenly rushed to cordone away the gates from civilians who were trying to see what was happening. “Arrgh!” Right then a miserable cry rent the air! It turned
