Chapter 144

It was a mild evening as Sonia was seated on the balcony, sipping her wine served by the butler and enjoying the cool breeze of the evening.

As she stared at the trees in the quiet street, she was jolted back to awareness by the roaring engine of a car entering into the driveway. It was a familiar car, one she recognized instantly.

Her heart skipped a beat as she saw Elvis stepping out, but what really took her by surprise was the person that followed him. Natasha.

Sonia's eyes were bolded in shock as she watched Natasha gracefully exit the car, her hand fully grasped and interlocked with Elvis'. Natasha looked up and caught Sonia's gaze in that moment and for some seconds, their eyes locked. Sonia's mind raced with questions, confusion, and a hint of unease.

She had not been in touch with Natasha in years, not since that fateful night when their friendship had broken beyond control. Sonia had always wondered what had become of her best friend, but she never expected to see her again
