Chapter One Hundred & Sixty-Three

“Father, this is the man I want to marry.” Amanda’s voice resonated in the dining room.

She was having lunch with her father and beside her was her fiancee, Richester. He composed himself like a man who has always been serious in life. He would do everything possible to make himself look presentable in front of his future father-in-law.

“Isn't he the same man that you disagreed to have an affair with?” Mr. Conrez asked cryptically.

He was discharged a week ago and Amanda didn’t hesitate to share the good news with him.

“He is.” She placed a palm on his hand. “But that was in the past, I love him.” She said seriously.

“Young man, do you love my daughter?” Mr. Conrez asked, dropping the fork and knife. He focused on Richester, trying to observe him.

Amanda was his only family and he didn’t joke with her.

“Yes, sir. I love her yesterday, today, and forever.” He said and changed the pattern, he placed his hand on hers and squeezed it gently. Amanda blushed.
