“And you, why are you still standing there? I told you to get something for me. Seems like you don't like your job right?“ He thundered revealing the outlines of his scary vines like web lines on his chest.

The supervisor broke into a stutter almost as a strange shiver went down his spine.

“I'm sorry sir. I will get it right away.“ He assured, pulling away swiftly from the place.

“I can assure you that you are going to lose this job.“ He smiled.

“Is this how you behave? Forcing your will on other people?“

“And who said that is the way to talk to your employer? Without a single trace of respect?“ He hits Eddie once again on his legs.

He could feel his anger rising badly and it was getting so difficult for him to control it.

He could contain any behavior in the world except from the dictator, a traitor, and a bully. They were enough to make him throw away his upbringing.

“I can let you go scot-free. I have to make sure that you pay for this. And when I meant to pay. I meant to pay several times for it.“ Eddie whispered under his breath but it was not loud enough for the manager to hear what he was saying.

Soon, they heard a pattern of feet from behind as the supervisor rushed down with the pair of clothing in his hands.

Staring at the scenery with so much fury, a deadly plan crossed through Eddie's mind, and for the first time in hours, a small smile made its way to his face.

“Here sir.“ The supervisor handed over the clothing to Mr. Japheth who in turn shoved it over to Eddie.

“And you don't have to worry about the pay. You might be touching the largest amount that you have ever held all your life today.“ He said.

Eddie was assigned to a section and he began to work on the floor slowly while he placed a timer on his phone.

“Punk. Stop staring and get those lazy asses of yours to work.“ He could hear the piercing sound of the manager from behind.

“You are going to pay so much for this.“ He wizzled under his breath.

Soon, his phone made a beeping sound and he got his phone from his pocket.

“A strange contact?“ He smiled.

“Guess they have been waiting for me for such a long time already.“ Eddie said to himself.

Picking up the phone, the voice of the caller came through from the other end, tender and filled with so much reverse.

“Good day Master Eddie.“ The voice came from the other ending, seemingly like someone who was learning to speak a new language.

“Good day. Sorry. Who is this?“ He inquired even though he already had a hint about who it was.

“I'm Thomas. Head of department directors. We've been expecting sir. But it's okay if you can't make it to the meeting. We can always reschedule it for another day.“ His voice was overly meek on the phone.

“Reschedule? I am already at the venue.“

“You are?“ Eddie could already sense the trace of panic in his voice making him smile a little bit.

He knew that feeling since he had been exposed a lot to it. It was awkward and he wanted to get it over with as soon as possible.

“I have been checking but couldn't find you. I'm sorry sir for lacking. Just give me your location and I will come get you.“

“Okay. But the thing is I am caught up in an unpleasant situation.“ He is Eddie.

Thomas's voice seemed to shiver as his words broke into a stutter.

“I'm sorry sir.“ He repeated twice. “I will come to settle it off right away.“ He noted.

“First floor. Left receptor.“ Eddie finalized and hung up, taking a breath of fresh air.

His heart kept racing fast as someone yelled his name from behind.

“Eddie Stinker?“ The yell of the manager was like a piercing stab, even much worse than that of Lady Gaga.

He has spun around slowly to meet with the blazing gaze of Mr. Japheth stamping swiftly towards him with so much rage.

“You fool.“ He hits him.

“How dare you use your phone while working?“ He thundered.

“Nobody told me that I could not take personal calls when I am less busy.“ Eddie's nonchalant response got Mr. Japheth flaming with so much rage.

With his anger boiling over, he stripped Eddie's cell phone away from him and threw it into the bucket.

Words failed to describe his expression as he stared at his cell phone, deepened in soapy water and back at Mr. Japheth.

“At least now you are going to focus on your work.“ He thundered.

Mr.. Japheth was about to leave but the raging sounds of footsteps advancing towards that direction stopped him.

His eyes swept through the distressed look of the head manager.

“Where is he?“ Thomas inquired swiftly.

“The young master. He told me he was right here.“ He explained but his words only got Mr. Japheth more confused.

“I think that you must have been mistaken. This bum has been the only one here.“

“Then I should ask him.“ Thomas replied, turning over to Eddie who was still staring at the bucket.

“Hey.“ He was about to say but fell backward immediately when he saw the face of Eddie. His lungs stripped out of air and he almost stopped breathing.

His eyes were filled with so much shock and Mr. Japheth noticed it.

“What's wrong?“ He could not help but inquire. His eyes filled with so much curiosity but he was firmly ignored.

“Young Master. Why are you here and why are you in a worker's uniform?“ Thomas shivered to his spine as he spoke to an angry Eddie.

“You should ask whoever is standing over there that just threw my phone into this pocket.“ He replied swiftly.

Thomas was confused not knowing what to say or to do not to get Eddie angry.

His head was tearing apart into a million parts but he knew that whatever he did, he could not face the young master.

Sweat dripped down steeply from his hair as there was only one option left for him now

He turned around towards Mr. Japheth and questioned him, praying to get a positive response from him.

“Mr. Japheth, what is going on? What have you done to get the young master so angry when you are supposed to make him most comfortable?“ He panicked but tried as much as he could to keep his calm so that Eddie was not going to notice.

“Are you referring to this freeloader? I think that you must be making a mistake , manager.“ Mr. Japheth replied.

“Or do you know him beforehand? He begged you on the Street? This is getting even more interesting isn't it.” His dark smile made its way to his lips.

Thomas's eyes brightened at the words that he just spat out from his mouth.

“Freeloader?“ His eyes brightened even more.

The sun was setting behind thick clouds when Eddie drove into the industrial district. The sleek glass towers of downtown gave way to old concrete buildings and empty warehouses. He parked his car two blocks away and walked the rest of the way, dressed in jeans and a plain jacket, nothing that would draw attention.Calix Therapeutics. The name was barely visible on the faded sign outside the building. According to Thomas's research, the company had gone bankrupt eight months ago, right after John Mark's acquisition. But the building was still standing, still locked up tight.Eddie pulled out an old ID badge - one of dozens Thomas had found in a data breach from the company's final weeks. Most companies would have deactivated these immediately, but in the chaos of bankruptcy, small details got forgotten. The badge reader beeped green, and Eddie slipped inside. The facility was mostly stripped clean. Equipment gone, files erased, anything valuable removed. But Eddie had learned that peo

The roundtable had been kept quiet in the mainstream media, but people who mattered were talking. And now his name was attached to whatever was coming next.He made coffee and sat down at his computer, pulling up the footage from last night. The micro-camera in his cufflink had caught everything - every word, every glance, every nervous twitch. He'd learned a long time ago that the most important conversations happened in the spaces between words.Eddie replayed Dante's dismissive remarks, watching how the man's eyes never quite matched his concerned tone. Then he focused on the other faces around the table. Most had reacted predictably when Sophia mentioned Blackworm - shock, fear, disbelief. But there was one man who had caught his attention.Dr. John Mark, pharmaceutical magnate from Southeast Asia. When Sophia had said the w

Eddie stood in his living room, holding Sophia's letter, the city's quiet hum drifting through his windows. He read the note again, her elegant handwriting sharp against the cream paper. "You're not invisible anymore. You might as well sit at the table."He set the letter down and walked to the window. The streetlights below cast long shadows, and he could see people moving through the night, unaware that their world was about to shift. His anonymity was gone. Whatever quiet life he'd built was over now."Shit," he said to himself, running a hand through his hair. "Here we go."The next morning brought chaos. Eddie's phone buzzed non-stop with calls from reporters, bloggers, and people he'd never heard of. Eddie walked out of the banquet hall beside Sophia, feeling like a thousand pairs of eyes were burning holes in his back. The night air hit his face, cold and sharp, but it wasn't as cold as the silence between them. Behind them, he could hear the whispers starting up like a wildfire. "Well, that was something," Sophia said, her voice calm as always. Eddie didn't respond. He kept walking, but he could feel the crowd inside still watching through the windows. Clara was probably still standing there with her mouth open, trying to figure out what the hell just happened. And Gerow? Eddie could picture his face right now - that fake smile finally cracking. "You want a ride?" Sophia asked when they reached the parking area. "I'm good, I'll get an uber" Eddie said, pulling out his phone to call a cab. But before he could dial, he heard footsteps behind them. A group of people had followed them outside, phones already out, some trying to look casual while they took pictures. "Eddie," Sop
