Chapter 9 - The Big Six

Jin took an elevator that took him to the last floor which is the mega VVIP floor where only the stinking rich and elites spend their time. The dishes there are world class!

He occasionally glances at Chloe beside him, wondering why she disobeyed his instruction earlier.

He hasn't said a word to her since then.

Nonetheless, the elevator stopped at the last floor and the door gave way, revealing a breathtaking Sight.

The silence observed in the space would make anyone think if there are humans present there but the tables were occupied with rich looking men engaging in a light discussion with assorted dishes on their table.

The tables are adorned with fine china, polished silverware and crisp linen napkins and seated before them are plush leather chairs that offer comfort. The view of the skyline from there is breathtaking.

Jin proceeded forward, his presence calling attention as he passed through to a corner and took a seat. Chloe joined him on the table, refusing to look into his eyes.

Shortly, a waitress approached them gracefully with a welcoming smile on her face. She was professionally dressed in a white shirt over a black skirt, holding a beautifully designed print on fine, textured paper.

With a warm smile, she placed it gently on the table, the restaurant logo embossed in gold at the top.

She was slightly taken aback to see a young guy like Jin in the restaurant. Young men hardly come around, especially at the Mega VVIP floor.

“Good day sir and ma. Welcome to Lumiere restaurant. What would you like us to offer you.” She said, her smile practiced and unwavering.

Jin scanned his eyes on the menu to see the lines of dishes on the menu, making it hard to make a choice.

He looked at the waitress. “Just give us the most best.” He said and relaxed on the chair.

The waitress looked at him. “Our best meal comes with a great price. I hope you saw the prices, sir?” She said smoothly and politely, her brow slightly arched.

 Jin nodded, glancing through the menu again. The first meal on the list, the caviar pizza cost $15,000.

“We’ll serve you our golden opulence sundae and caviar pizza.”

“Are you still willing to go for it sir?” She asked, expecting Jin to blink an eye or widen his eyes to the luxurious prices of the dishes but he was surprised he didn't even flinch.

“Go on.” He said simply and the waitress left.

Jin looked at Chloe and exhaled deeply before saying.

“Why did you come when I instructed you not to?” He stared at her.

The girl raised her head but didn't look into his eyes. “I was worried because you stayed long so I decided to come after you.” She said with a low voice.

Jin kept quiet for some moments before pushing forward.

“And was that why you were crying too?” His gaze was fixed on her.

The statement made tears cloud in her eyes again, threatening to spill out.

“Is he the one? I mean your boyfriend?” He asked smartly.

Chloe nodded, a drop of the tears streamed from her eyes.

“He promised never to leave me. I did everything for Alex and we've planned to do our wedding next week but he..” Her voice trailed off painfully, more tears spilling from her eyes.

Anabelle had cheated on him for Chloe's boyfriend. Jin felt the same pain she's currently feeling.

Anabelle wasn't worth it.

Even though he loved her, he had broken all the emotional bonds he had with her and she meant nothing to him, not anymore!

But she's going to bite her finger in regret for toying with his feelings!

“Listen Chloe. I know you love him but you have to take his betrayal as your stepping stone. Don't be a weakling for someone who doesn't appreciate your love! It’ll be fine!” Jin said.

 Chloe shook her head. “No master, it'll not be fine. You don't understand this. I'll be in trouble if my father knows I broke up with him, which I had done since I caught him cheating!” She said, sniffing in tears.

“Trouble? What trouble?” Jin frowned slightly, eager to know more.

Chloe sniffed again before she began. “Alex and my dad are business partners.”

“His father elevated my father because of the relationship between me and his son. He won't even think once before stripping my father off from his status.” She said, her voice laced with pain.

Jin leaned forward interestingly. “So the relationship is based on business.” 

Chloe nodded her head.

"But I love Alex..but now, I hate him!” She spat derisively.

Just as the conversation was going on, six men, all in crisp black suits, stepped out of the elevator. Their stance emits an aura of authority and confidence.

The look on their faces was not inviting at all.

They're commonly called the biggest men in the city due to their high status in the business world. Subordinately, each of them belongs to a deadly organisation that operates worldwide

The once quiet space was filled with whispers of anxiety at their arrival. “The big six are here.”

Someone whispered, his voice laced with anxiety.

“I hope they don't cause any trouble as usual. I should quickly leave now!” A lady murmured fearfully, grabbed her bag and left the restaurant.

They looked in Jin's direction like a hungry predator targeting its prey.

The corner where Jin sat is their usual hanging spot.

They approached the table and stood before them.

Jin looked up to the men to see their scary faces. He forced a smile and lowered his head, disregarding their presence and continuing his conversation with Chloe.

“On your feet kid and leave!” One of them spoke up, his voice mean and rough with harshness.

“You met us here first.” Jin looked up at the men, unmoved by their presence.

Didn't Jin know the men!?

 Of course he knew them. Their names are always on the first page of daily newspapers. They're the prominent business moguls in the city.

The one who spoke up smirked, a deadly grin at the corner of his lips. “Do you know you're dealing with!!” He barked, his voice filled with threat. “Just stand up!”
