CHAPTER 1 : THE OUTCAST
Carrick Gale felt like an outsider at the party. He looked around the fancy room and saw people laughing and having fun. But he didn't feel like he belonged.
His mom, Janice, was smiling and talking to others. She was beautiful, and everyone seemed to like her. But Carrick knew the truth. She was treated poorly by the Gale family, even though she was kind and loving.
Carrick's mom called him over, but he didn't want to go. He felt awkward, and the other kids were staring at him. They whispered to each other, making fun of him.
Carrick's mom wanted him to join her, but he felt like he didn't fit in. The other kids were mean, and he felt like he was walking through mud as he approached them.
Their dirty looks and snickers hurt Carrick. He clenched his jaw and tightened his fists. He was used to being left out, but it still hurt.
"Hey, bastard, what are you doing here?" one of them sneered, a tall, muscular boy with a cruel grin, his voice like a rusty gate scraping against Carrick's nerves.
"Just enjoying the party," Carrick replied, his voice even, but his heart racing like a wild animal trapped in a cage.
The boy laughed, a harsh, mocking sound. "What does a bastard and beggar like you have to enjoy in a party meant for true Mafia scions. You don't belong here. You're not one of us."
Carrick's eyes flashed with anger, but he knew better than to fight back. He was alone, and the Gale family wouldn't hesitate to crush him like an insect under their heel. For the sake of his mother, he must remain docile.
Suddenly, a hand clamped on his shoulder, spinning him around like a puppet on a string. Carrick faced his half-brother, Domino, a sneer twisting his face like a grotesque mask.
"You don't belong here, bastard," Domino spat, his voice low and menacing, like a snake slithering through the grass.
Domino's eyes blazed with contempt. "You're nothing but a dirty secret, a reminder of our father's weakness. You're a stain on our family's name, a bastard child who shouldn't even exist." Domino's words stung him real deep. Shame and anger danced around Carrick's heart.
Carrick's mother appeared, her eyes flashing with anger. "Domino, leave him alone!" she demanded, her voice firm but trembling with emotion. Carrick could she was scared but still stood up for him.
Domino sneered at her. "You're just as guilty, whore. You and your bastard son are a disgrace to our family. You're the reason our father's lost respect, why our family's reputation is tarnished." Domino didn't hold back at all.
The room fell silent, all eyes on the tense scene unfolding before them. The guests were a bit excited as they anticipated a good show. Meanwhile Carrick's face burned with shame and anger, but he knew he had to keep his head down, to survive.
"Enough, Domino!" A voice full of power and authority boomed out. Zachary Gale, tall, muscular, handsome, with eyes cold and hard as steel. "Leave Carrick alone. He's still a Gale, after all."
Domino's sneer faltered, but his eyes still burned with hatred. "For now, he's still a Gale," he muttered, before turning and disappearing into the crowd like a snake slithering into the shadows.
Carrick's mother placed a gentle hand on her son's arm. "I'm sorry, darling. I wish things were different."
Carrick shrugged, his heart heavy. "It's okay, mother. I'm used to it." But deep down, he knew he couldn't take much more of this life, always living in the shadows, always an outcast. Something had to change. He needed to change his life and that of his mother's.
Zachary Gale approached them, his presence commanding attention. He was the current helmsman of the Gale family, and thus he commanded much respect from everyone. "Carrick, come with me," he said, his voice firm leaving no room for questions or discussion.
Carrick followed him, his heart racing with anticipation. What did his father want from him?
As they walked, the crowd parted, whispers and stares following them like a dark cloud. Carrick felt like a specimen under a microscope, examined and judged by everyone around him.
They reached a private room, the door closing behind them like a trap. Zachary Gale turned to him, his eyes piercing.
"Carrick, I know you're not like the others. You have a fire in you, a spark that can be fanned into a flame. I want to help you cultivate that spark, to make you a true Gale."
Carrick's heart skipped a beat. What did his father have planned for him?
"There's a business transaction I want you to oversee. Do this successfully and no one would ever look down on you ever again." Zachary said.
"Really father? What sort of business transaction if I may ask?" Carrick asked in curiosity, this was exactly what he need - something to prove himself as a capable Gale. But instead his father's brows creased as if he had committed a crime.
"You have no right to know. But I will tell you this, the merchandise is of great importance that even ten of your lifetime isn't enough to redeem it should you fail." His father said in a stern tone.
"Yes Father. I will not fail you. I will not throw away this opportunity you have given to me." Carrick said and bowed his head.
"Go and prepare, you leave at once. Edgar will drive you." His father said, dismissing him. Carrick bowed again and left his father alone in the study.
Seeing that Carrick has left. Zachary brought out his mobile phone and dialled a number.
"He's on his way. Make it swift and clean. He will be with a driver, you have my permission to clean off all witnesses." He then hung up.
"I'm sorry Carrick, but even I can't tolerate this anymore. I assure you that in two years your mother will join you and keep you company." Zachary said to himself with an emotionless face.

BANG BANG BANG CHAPTER 210: RESONANCE
The silence beneath Blackridge was not silence at all—it was resonance. It hummed in the bones. It breathed through the walls.Luka stood in the pale green light of the chamber, his eyes fixed on the obelisk that had once been Threnody. No longer a mere construct, no longer a machine. It pulsed with something old, sentient—not alive in the human sense, but aware. Waiting. Listening.Alessia stepped to his side. “It’s not just a program,” she whispered. “It’s something else. I can feel it.”Vesper, pacing with a restless kind of tension, frowned. “Feel it? I hear it. It’s talking. Or... something is. Like echoes trying to fit into words.”Arden was the last to approach, rifle lowered but hands tight on the grip. “It’s not language. It’s resonance. Frequencies interacting with the nervous system. Look at the way the walls are reacting—see that shimmer? That’s not projection. That’s interference.”“Interference with what?” Luka asked, voice low.“Us,” Arden said. They turned to face the

BANG BANG BANG CHAPTER 209: DEATH SONG
The humming deepened as they stepped off the last rusted stair into the belly of Blackridge. Stone gave way to metal. Metal gave way to silence. The kind of silence that wasn’t empty—it pressed in from every angle, coiled and waiting, like it had teeth.Luka stood still, his breath low and even, eyes scanning. The hallway ahead of them shimmered faintly, lined with polished steel plates inscribed with hundreds—no, thousands—of names. Some etched deep. Some half-erased.“Memorial or warning?” Vesper muttered.Arden knelt by one of the walls. “These aren’t just names. These are ciphers. Encoded identities. Memory chains.”Alessia glanced around warily. “So this is a vault. A grave for minds.”Luka didn’t speak. He stared at one name in particular—partially burned, distorted, but still there.C.GALE.He reached out, fingers grazing the alloyed letters.“Carrick?” Alessia whispered, catching the initials. “Why would they—”“Because this isn’t just a database,” Arden said. “It’s where they

BANG BANG BANG CHAPTER 208: BENEATH THE SILENCE
The hum of servers had stopped. In the Foundation’s abandoned substation bunker beneath the East Rail terminal, silence settled like dust. Screens still glowed with half-decoded strings, flickering algorithms trying to make sense of fractured systems. Vesper stood amid the wreckage, arms folded, her pale eyes tracking the final lines of code shutting down. Luka sat on the edge of the long steel table, staring at the fragments of Mirelle’s old world.“No more ghosts,” he muttered. “She can’t pull strings from this far down anymore.”“She’s dead,” Arden said quietly, seated nearby with a dataslate balanced on his knees. “But ghosts don’t need to be alive. They just need echoes. And O.S.A. has plenty.”Footsteps echoed in the hallway. Alessia appeared, gun still holstered, coat open, eyes narrowed.“I just got word. Westbridge burned,” she said. “Not a fire. A virus. Digital. Thousands of hospital records purged. Transit hubs collapsed. They hit the civilian systems—again.”“Collateral c

BANG BANG BANG CHAPTER 207: THE FALSE MIRROR
Rain battered the broken skyline like a warning. In the depths of the fortified O.S.A. ruin, Luka stood over the flickering interface where Carrick's Eidolon—the ghost construct—waited in digital silence. Around him, a new war room had been cobbled together from salvaged terminals and blackout generators. The room hummed with tension and circuits."Status?" Luka asked without looking away from the screen.Arden tapped rapidly on a keyboard. "We’ve isolated the construct inside a recursive virtual environment. Vesper’s mirror design is in place. Think of it like a hall of infinite reflections—the ghost sees only what we want it to see."Vesper stood nearby, eyes dark, voice sharp. "It believes it's still interfacing with a live version of the Foundation's central command. All systems are simulated. Every command it gives is absorbed and rerouted. It thinks it’s winning."Marco leaned against the wall, arms folded. "You’re sure it’s fooled?""As long as we don’t give it anything new to

BANG BANG BANG CHAPTER 206: THE GHOST CODE
The storm outside had not ceased. Rain hammered the bulletproof windows of the O.S.A. ruins, now lit only by emergency lights flickering like distant stars. In the war room, Luka Gale stood at the center of the table, his coat soaked and fingers stained with blood and ink from torn documents.Around him: Marco, pale and furious; Vesper, silent but alert; Alessia, her arms crossed, jaw clenched tight; and Arden, dragging a data cable from a black steel box marked with the words PROJECT EIDOLON – RESTRICTED.“Tell me that’s not what I think it is,” Luka said, voice low.Arden didn’t look up. “It’s worse. This isn’t a program or an archive. It’s a seed.”Alessia stepped forward, her heels echoing on the concrete. “Define ‘seed,’ Arden. Use short, non-apocalyptic words.”Arden sighed and connected the cable to a manual port on his terminal. “Project Eidolon was a fail-safe. A backup personality framework. Designed to mimic high-value operatives… down to memory, speech patterns, tactical r

BANG BANG BANG CHAPTER 205: BLACK ECHO
The air inside the abandoned rail station tasted like dust and iron. Graffiti stretched like scars along cracked concrete walls, the floor littered with cigarette butts and shattered glass. A distant sound of dripping water echoed, sharp and rhythmic like a clock counting down.Luka stood still at the platform’s edge, eyes narrowed beneath the brim of his coat. Arden knelt beside a torn duffel bag near the tracks, unzipping it slowly. He glanced back at Luka, tension etched into his features.“They left in a hurry,” Arden muttered, rifling through the contents—moldy rations, bloodied gauze, and a datapad sealed in a cracked case. “This was one of Salvi’s temporary caches. My guess? A decoy.”Luka’s boots scraped gravel as he approached. “You sure this is even his?”“Positive. Same encrypted tag Vesper’s people tracked last month. He’s on the move, Luka—and fast. He’s not rebuilding an army. He’s assembling something smaller. Smarter.”Luka looked up at the rusted ceiling, eyes scannin
