Sabito took a step and the earth seemed to vibrate with each step he took. Finally, he was going to—

His feet came to a pause, and then he frowned when…

{Beep… beep…beep…}

A sharp, mechanical chime echoed through his head.

Sabito strained his ears to listen, paying more attention when another one sounded again.

{Beep. Beep. Beep…}

A cold, rhythmic and precise sound, like the countdown of a machine booting up.

And then—

{A new host, detected…}

“What the…”

Before sabito could process what it meant,

{Taking over the host…}

Sabito barely had time to register the words before it hit him!

Agony!

He doubled over, falling to the ground when a raw and unrelenting pain exploded in his veins, racing through every nerve like fire in dry grass.

His body arched, spine bending unnaturally, as though some invisible force was searing its mark into him.

His lungs forgot how to breathe.

His heart stuttered—then stopped.

Everything inside him was shutting down. System by system. Organ by organ.

{Testing the host's system…}

Sabito's muscles seized. His vision flickered. His mind blurred, trapped in an electric storm of data and static.

His world twisted, stretching into something incomprehensible—until, finally, he was plunged into pure, merciless blankness!

Somewhere far away, an engine roared.

It was deep, thunderous and predatory.

A black car pulled up, its surface gleaming under the storm-lit sky. Steam curled from its hood like breath from a slumbering beast.

And then it screeched into a halt!

Silence followed after, then footsteps. Slow and purposeful. Each one pressing into the wet ground with a quiet dominance.

Sabito barely clings to consciousness, his body a dead weight against the concrete earth. His vision was a wavering, unfocused thing, but he somehow managed see them—

Two polished leather shoes that gleamed like that car…

And then… A shadow loomed over him..

He tried to move, but the abyss thought otherwise, because it ruthlessly yanked him right back under!

~~~
And then—
{Host is awake…}
Sabito's eyes snapped open, flickering from side to side.
To his left, tall windows let in faint streaks of light and to his left, a bookshelf stood filled with well used books. A coffee cup sat nearby on a small round table.
In front of him, a plush couch, a neatly folded blanket, and a jacket draped over a chair hinted at someone's presence.
But at the moment, it seems there was nobody at home.
Sabito winced when another beep followed…
{Booting up…}
{Analyzing host vitals…}
{Warning: Critical damage detected. Initiating emergency restoration.}
{Assessing neural pathways…}
{Reconstructing cellular structure…}
{Host synchronization: 0%... 12%... 38%... 72%... 100%...}
{System, successfully integrated.}
{Welcome, host.}
A rush of foreign knowledge slammed into sabito, flooding his brain with numbers, data streams, and symbols he didn't recognize. It was like something unseen was rewriting him from inside out.
{System integration:100%.}
{Congratulations, Host. You have been selected.}
{New directives available.}
{Would you like to view them?}
Sabito was scared shitless. He swallowed hard, this throat painfully dry. His hands trembled, but he clenched them into fists to stop them from shaking. “W-What… what was I selected for?”
He couldn't help but ask. He could be accidentally selected to be amongst the people to burn in hell for all he knew, and he didn't want that for himself.
The soup he currently into was enough already.
{Host has been chosen.}
{You are now included among those who will bring justice to society.}
Just…justice?
Sabito almost laughed. A bitter, disbelieving laugh that was unable to leave his throat.
He had been the victim. And now, some faceless system was talking about justice?
His fists clenched tighter. His nails dug into his palms, grounding him.
The system's voice cut through his thoughts again.
{Host, are you ready for the directives now?}
Sabito hesitated.
The logical part of him screamed at him to wake up from whatever twisted nightmare this was. But the part of him that had suffered—the part of him that had drowned in betrayal and pain—knew better than to shake his head.
Slowly, almost unwillingly, he nodded.
A pulse of energy rippled through the space around him, as if the room had acknowledged his decision.
{Checking for detectives…}
Then, the system paused.
{Before proceeding, Host must be informed of his current status.}
{Reading host's manual…}
{Host Level: 0 (Newly Integrated)}
{Skills: None}
{Physical Enhancement: None}
{Combat Assessment: Utterly Pathetic}
Sabito twitched. “Excuse me?”
The system continued mercilessly.
{Host currently possesses no significant attributes. Success rate in any mission is dangerously low. Survival probability: 13%.}
Sabito scowled. He wanted to protest, but deep down, he knew it wasn't wrong. He had always been a weak, powerless mutt in front of the people who tormented him.
But not anymore!
Not after this!
His breathing steadied. His fear dulled into something heavier and dangerously darker.
“Just get on with it,” he muttered, his face twisted in determination.
The system complied.
{Directives initialized.}
{First mission: Begin your revenge.}
Sabito stiffened. His eyes widened slightly.
{Mission Details: Track down the individuals responsible for your death. Confront them. Retaliate. Unlocking this level will grant host access to enhanced capabilities.}
Retaliate…
The word slithered into Sabito's brain, wrapping around his thoughts like a vice. He could almost hear the sound of Ethan and Jasper's laughter of how their fists slammed into him, the moment they had decided his life wasn't worth a second thought as they hurled him into a lake.
And now, the universe itself was giving him permission to make them pay?
A slow, unfamiliar smile crept at the edges of his lips, but before he could revel in them, the system continued.
{Host requires resources.}
A bright flash erupted before him, forcing him to shield his eyes. When the light faded, something rested in his open palm—a sleek matte black card.
It was hard and cold to the touch.
{Host has been granted initial funds…}
{Transferring the funds to Host's account…}
“What?” Sabito dragged in a mouthful amount of air. “how much funds have I been granted?”
“The balance will be replenished upon expenditure. There is no limit to the card.}
He stared at the card, the weight of it sinking in. There are no boundaries, and no limit as well?
The world had done nothing but take from him. His pride. His dignity. His life.
Now, it was his turn to take.
{Welcome to the new you, Host.}
Great! He was so much going to torment them, and he was going to do it in a flashy manner!
    "So why am I here?" He asked with a smirk on his face. The last thing she wanted was to get into any arguments with him as she paced around the room. She could hear her heart racing at that moment. The last time she had seen Gojo, things had been different, but now she needed his help, and standing before her, he was calm enough so he could hear her.“Are you going to speak or not?" Gojo questioned. He hadn't heard such a thing before. "You have your answers already, why ask again."
