Sabito twisted his head towards the door when it finally creaked opened and in, stepped a lady that's around her mid 50's.
She was wearing an apron and a flat shoe, hinting at the kind of work she's being hired to do. Their eyes met. “Oh, I can see you're awake.” She said, twisting a little to the side and closing the door. “I just stepped out for a moment.” Sabito wanted to ask her name, but… “I'm sorry, but how am I here?” came out instead. This lady came just right in time as he couldn't ask the system or whatever it was. “Oh, I'm Makio.” The woman replied, resting a hand to her chest. “I was tasked with watching over you until you woke up.” “And…who had tasked you to watch over me?” “My master…” “And who's your master?” Did she have to be so… Urghhh! Of course the person should be her master, but who was it?! Was it the man with the leather soles back at the lake? “His name is Muzan Sama, and he was the one that brought you in.” Sabito's face scrunches up in a frown. He was trying so hard to remember whether he had heard that name from somewhere, but apparently, he failed miserably. The name didn't ring a bell. “Well, can I wait until he returns? I'd like to thank him for saving me back there.” “Of course you definitely can!” The woman responded with a warm smile, one that tugged at something deep inside Sabito. He could not even remember the last time his own mother smiled at him like that. “But I think it will take him some time to come back after spending over seven days looking after you. That's just how nice he is.” The smile vanished from his face in an instant, replaced by a deep scowl. His body tensed, and his breath hitched! “Wait…what? Seven—seven days?!” His heart pounded against his ribs. He had just blacked out, barely a second ago—or at least, that was how he felt. But now, an entire week has passed?! His exams…he is going to fail his exams! Before he could fully process the shock, the system's cold, mechanical voice chimed in again. {Correct. And one more thing, Host. The funds provided must be entirely spent within five days.} Sabito barely had time to blink before the next text message flashed in his mind again. {Failure to do so will result in a randomized penalty. Potential consequences include: sensory deprivation.} His heart skipped a terrifying beat when he thought of how he was going to spend the money, but found none. {Enjoy your shopping, Host.} Sabito suddenly jumped down from the bed, surprising the elderly woman he just knew to be Makio. “Where are you going? Thought you said you're going to wait for Lord Muzan?” “I'm… I'm sorry,” Sabito apologized, scratching his head sheepishly, already walking away. “Something suddenly came up.” “Oh.” “Yeah.” Sabito started walking out after that but halted when he stepped outside. He was stunned, not just about how beautiful the compound was, but how master Muzan was able to make it beautiful despite how vast it was. But he didn't have the luxury of time to appreciate it. He would come back but right now, he had a revenge to plan and some cool funds to spend. Sabito started running, and he instantly became afraid when he realized something. His legs were moving abnormally fast, faster than they did before and even though he had run at an insanely long distance, he hadn't broken out in a sweat! He smiled. Perks of being selected? That's nice! Muzan’s house was on the outskirts of the main city of Chicago. He started running again and in a short period of time, he arrived in the main city, pausing when he came across a commotion. People are gathered around something he couldn't see properly no matter how he craned his head. He wanted to leave, but he overheard someone saying something in a pity laden voice and shaking his head. “Too bad, no one is going to save that girl. Such a promising young woman.” “Yeah, exactly. Imagine her acting career going to be gone because she couldn't afford to pay for the breach of contract.” “Em, excuse me.” Sabito chimed in after listening for a while. “A breach of contract? How much is she owing and what is the repercussion of her non-repayment?” “She is to pay the whopping sum of 20 million dollars. And for the repercussions… she would be to Mr Gojo and he would do to her, whatever he pleases,” the man replied, before giving Sabito a scornful look. “And why? It's not like you can afford to pay for it.” The man hissed and turned away, not giving him another second of his time. Sabito's hands clenched. He had heard a lot about the Gojo’s family. Of how tyrannical they are. Treating people like trash and hurting people whimsically. Gojo had lost his father, becoming the head of the family. But he was lazy and couldn't keep up, so he turned the company into an underground network, a thug for hire. He operated discreetly, taking jobs where he and his crew were paid to handle people. Sabito frowned. Even at that, it still doesn't justify the way they abused their power. And that was exactly the reason he was selected, right? To bring justice to humanity. So this would be considered contradictory to his purpose of being selected if he turned a blind eye to this. “What if I pay for her… will he let her go?” The man turned around again, this time giving him a look that could strip someone bare and then burst into a mocking, uncontrollable laughter. “Look, this riffraff here says he can pay off Lisa's debts.” He announced in a loud tone, making people turn to look and jeer at him. “What? That's absurd!” “The bills are too much and you say you could pay it off? What a joke!” Before sabito could say another word, the sound of a car screeched to a halt. The sound of the door opening and then closing followed before a deep voice boomed out! “What's happening here?!” All eyes turned to the source of the voice and their attitudes did a 360 degrees, excluding one person, of course. It was George from the Anderson family. They owned quite a few companies in Oakenshield, making them well known and popular. “Oh my God! Lisa is lucky today! Master George is here and is going to pay off her debt in a flash!” A voice gushed in awe. “Yes, exactly! I heard he even does humanitarian work and is a philanthropist too. And he likes to help a lot!” Sabito frowned. No, he doesn't help. That information is not true. Infact, when they first moved to Oakenshield, his parents had heard this same information and tried to approach him for help. But George had ruthlessly thrown them out like dogs that wagged it's tail for food even after he had made them kneel down to beg like pheasants. And now, they are praising him? George started walking towards the scene and like the river parted for Moses in the red sea, everyone parted ways for him, creating a path that led to where Lisa knelt down. Even Mr Gojo's attitude changed for a tiny fraction when he saw George as a sign of respect. George raised his chin, hinting that he doesn't repeat the same thing twice. “This lady here,” Gojo said, fiercely twisting Lisa's ears, making her wince, “had refused to pay me for the breach of contract. Since she dared not to pay, then I decided it was time to make an example out of her. But since you're here, master George, hehehe, I know the debts are already settled.” George raised his shoulders, reveling in the praises showered on him. He thought being the only son of Anderson's wasn't a bad idea after all. “Yes, of course. The debt is paid already. You know me too well, Mr Gojo.” “What are you waiting for then? Hurry up and thank Master George!” Gojo reminded Lisa, in a harsh tone, “or how would you have been able to repay my 20 million dollars?” At the mention of the amount of money, all blood suddenly drained from George's face!

The pain was a storm ripping through Sabito’s body as he could feel every nerve snap, every muscle locked. The system’s cold voice echoed in his head again and again, and he grips his hair in an attempt to stop it.He dropped to one knee, breath tearing from his lungs. The floor beneath him felt like it was swaying, though he knew it wasn’t. His fists dug into the concrete as if he could hold on to himself by force, he could feel his true self slipping away. He had to do something...Gojo’s voice cut through the noise again. “Sabito! Fight it—don’t you let that thing take you!”Lisa was there too, crouched in front of him, her hands gripping his shoulders. “Stay with me, Sabito! Look at me, not the voice, look at me!”His vision blurred between her face and a blinding white light that seemed to be burning straight into his mind. The system was trying to weave itself into him, each thread pulling tighter, threatening to erase the parts that made him who he was.A flood of images hit
The Final Battle
The cold from the concrete wall pressed through Sabito’s back, but he stayed still. It was almost like he was living through the moment again. The wind under the overpass cut sharp against his face, yet the heat inside his chest hadn’t cooled since Muzan’s men had swarmed him and beaten him to pulp, but that wasn't what had left him shocked. It was the fact that the system had failed him again. It was the fight, the smirk on Muzan’s face, the way those masked men moved like they’d done it a thousand times before—and he found it rather disturbing. Gojo leaned against his motorcycle, watching him. His eyes had the kind of stillness that made people uncomfortable. “You’re quiet,” he said at last.“I’m thinking,” Sabito replied. His voice was low and hoarse. “The damaged part of the system makes me feel like a part of me’s gone… I need it fixed.” Sabito had somehow bonded with the system and now that part of it was dysfunctional, he felt empty. Gojo crossed his arms. “Fixing it isn’t

When sleep finally claimed him for a brief moment, he awoke with a heavy heart, his mind trapped in an endless loop of thoughts he couldn't shake off, no matter how hard he tried. Muzan’s words wouldn’t leave his head, and it felt more difficult, as he was trying to focus his mind on what to do.But this time, finally, his mind was set. For a long time his eyes were fixed on the wall, but he wasn’t seeing it as he was lost... lost in whatever thought that was running through his heart at that moment. For some reason the house felt too quiet. Sabito leaned forward, elbows on his knees, and took a long breath. His body was recovering well after the entire incident of late, and he could feel his strength returning, but not his heart wasn’t… because it felt like she took a part of it.For a moment, he thought about calling Rose again, just to hear her voice, even if it meant another argument, but his pride and maybe fear kept his hand away from the phone though he was staring right at it now.Instead, his thoughts wandered to something else, something he had been avoiding. It had be
