THE EXTRAORDINARY TRILLIONAIRE

Chapter 1: Big Bite

The cafeteria buzzed with the usual rhythm from students as they trooped in, in groups for dinner.

Big Bite restaurant.

The biggest cafeteria in the school, patronized only by the rich kids, per plate here costs more than Dominic's account balance.

Yet, he was sitting inside a booth at the end, surprisingly dressed in a modest navy suit that he probably got from a thrift store yet it looks good on his body.

His presence immediately made heads turn. He was known as the poorest guy in the school, a guy who juggled different odd jobs together just to survive the following day.

But today was no laundry day, and neither was it an errand time.

Dominic Mercer had planned a proposal for his girlfriend right in the restaurant.

For four years, they'd been in a relationship that was kept secret as requested by Carol. She'd told him she disliked attention, and explained that anything kept hidden is usually meaningful at the end.

Dominic was reasonable with her.

Four years of silent love and sacrifices, of romantic text and secret meetings was going to be made public today, and the entire school will know the school beauty is his girlfriend.

Dominic's head kept glancing at the door. Carol had earlier told him she was coming to the restaurant, and she'd be surprised to see him there, a perfect romantic scheme that'll leave her stunned.

A smile crossed his lips at the thought about her. He pressed his hand to his chest to check if the ring hadn't disappeared.

Thirty minutes after he waited, the door finally parted and the person he was anticipating walked in. Even the room noticed her immediately as the chatters dimmed.

Carol Flair.

Her beauty is exceptional, stark under the light of the restaurant, black hair cascaded Behind her back in soft waves. Her posture was straight, her body clad in a crimson gown that fitted her like a second skin. She clicked forward with elegance and Dominic was momentarily blown away by her presence.

"Damn, " his jaw dropped, "I'm a lucky one."

Guys stared at her from their tables with interest as they ignored their meal and dates, girls gawked at her with naked jealousy.

Carol walked over to the table at another corner and sat down, she set her bag on the table, unclasped the cover and pulled out her phone.

At the same time, Dominic was already up, he tugged the hem of his suit in readiness, his smile was all over the place. Yet, despite the excitement in his heart, his heart raced with anxiety.

He cleared his throat, did a quick rehearsal of the scripts he rehearsed throughout the night, then he walked to her table.

Carol's head was down to her phone, scrolling through a platform when something dropped beside her.

She turned to the side and it was who she didn't expect.

Dominic.

He was on one knee.

Her expression twisted with a tight frown immediately.

"Dominic, what are you doing here..why are you in your knee?" Her voice cracked slightly, her face obviously flushing in embarrassment but due to excitement, Dominic misunderstood it as shock.

The entire restaurant dipped, their heads turned in their direction.

Dominic smile was all teeth as he reached into his beast pocket and took out a velvet box that drank in the light.

He flipped the lid open and a diamond ring caught the light.

The room gasped.

Dominic lifted his head to her, "Carol Flair," he called, his voice soft, "I am done looking for a woman to spend the rest of my life with right from the moment I met you four years ago.."

At this point, the students pulled out the phone, recording the entire scene. The restaurant buzzed with murmurings.

Dominic continued with a soft voice, his heart thrumming with excitement. The camera caught a faint tear at the corner of his eyes.

"..you are a decision I made without hesitation because you're perfect for me. I would like us to take it further to forever."

"Will you marry me, Carol Flair?"

Murmurs of shock rippled across the room in waves that struck something inside of Carol. Her face flushed red in embarrassment. Inside, anger boiled in her blood. Her fingers dug into her thigh, her knuckles whitening.

"Say yes!! Say yes!!"

The chanting started from the end of the hall then the entire hall carried it on.

Amidst the chant, whispers of shock and disbelief reached Carol's ear.

"Dom, the poorest dude on this campus has been dating the school beauty? This is unbelievable!"

"Damn! I'm still trying to process it."

Carol's face reddened to beet red as the entire thing infuriated her more.

Her body shook out of sheer anger which she was barely holding back.

Then she reached her limit.

Her palm swung through the air like a whip— packed with anger and infuriation of the proposal, she struck his face hard.

Dominic's head snapped to the side, his body hurled across the room and blood splayed from where Carol's ring cut on his lips. The box clattered to the floor, skidding across the room.

The room gasped.

"Are you mad!! Who the hell do you think you are!!!"

Carol jerked up from the chair so fast the chair scraped back.
