The Silo sat forty feet underground, accessible through a rusted maintenance hatch behind an abandoned gas station.

Dante descended the ladder slowly. His side burned with every rung. The bleeding had stopped, but the wound was angry and hot. He needed to clean it. Needed to think.

The hatch sealed above him. Darkness swallowed everything.

He reached the bottom and triggered the emergency lights. Fluorescent bulbs flickered to life, revealing a concrete bunker fifteen feet square. A cot in the corner. A table covered in maps and equipment. Lockers against the far wall.

His safehouse. His last resort.

Dante stripped off his jacket and inspected the wound. A graze, but deep enough to need stitches. He found the medical kit, cleaned the cut with antiseptic, and stitched it with steady hands.

Pain was familiar. He worked through it.

He opened a locker and pulled out a fresh weapon. Sig Sauer P226. Clean. Loaded.

Then he checked the cameras.

Eighteen feeds. All green. No movement outside.

But something was wrong. The air filtration system hummed louder than usual. The oxygen levels showed a slight drop.

He checked the logs. Someone had been here. Three weeks ago. A single entry.

Gary Price.

The old man had found the Silo. Left something behind.

Dante searched the room. Under the cot. Behind the lockers. Inside the ventilation shaft.

Nothing.

He sat on the cot, exhausted. His mind replayed the last twenty-four hours. The dead drop. Gary's body. Naomi's trap.

Webb was always three steps ahead.

Dante closed his eyes for a moment. Just a moment.

The camera feed caught movement.

His eyes snapped open. Two figures on the north perimeter. Armed. Moving toward the hatch.

He grabbed his weapon and moved to the ladder. But before he could climb, the hatch burst open.

Flashbangs. Two of them. White light and deafening noise.

Dante turned away, firing blind. He hit something. A body crashed down the ladder.

More boots on the rungs. At least three more.

He dove behind the table, flipping it for cover. Bullets tore through the wood.

He returned fire. Two shots. A man screamed.

The chaos lasted forty-seven seconds. When the shooting stopped, three bodies lay on the concrete floor. Dante crouched behind an overturned locker, ears ringing.

He counted breaths. One survivor. The man who'd climbed down first was still moving, dragging himself toward the ladder.

Dante crossed to him. Pressed the barrel of his Sig against the man's temple.

"Who sent you?"

The man coughed blood. "Webb."

"I know that. Who else?"

"Viktor... Kral. The transfer route... changed."

Dante's grip tightened. "Changed to where?"

The man's eyes flickered. "The port. Sasha... she's running it. She knows... everything."

"Why did Webb tell you to come here?"

"To... kill you. Or..." The man smiled. Blood on his teeth. "To send a message."

"What message?"

The man laughed. It turned into a gurgle.

"Gary was just the beginning."

Dante's finger tightened on the trigger.

He could end it. Pull the trigger. No more questions.

But if he let this man live, he'd carry a message back to Webb.

Dante had never left a target breathing before.

He lowered the weapon.

"Tell Webb I'm coming," he said.

The man stared at him. Confused. Terrified.

"Tell him I know about the Silo. I know about Gary. And I know about Sasha."

Dante stepped back. "Now go."

The man scrambled up the ladder and disappeared.

Dante stood in the silence, surrounded by bodies.

He'd made a choice. A dangerous one. Webb would know he was alive. Angry. Unpredictable.

But more importantly, Dante had learned something. The route changed. Sasha Kral was the key.

And Gary left a message for a reason.

Dante walked to the table. He examined the maps. The prisoner transfer route had shifted from the airport to the port.

He circled the port on the map.

Then he checked his phone. The unknown number. The countdown.

T-67 hours.

He stared at the bodies on the floor.

His first onscreen kills. Two men. Maybe more.

He felt nothing.

That was the scariest part.

He packed supplies, grabbed fresh ammunition, and climbed the ladder.

The hatch opened to grey morning. The rain had stopped.

He walked away from the Silo without looking back.

The port was his next target. Sasha Kral was his next lead.

And this time, he'd be the hunter.

The safehouse fell silent.Dante's hand rested on his weapon. His eyes were locked on Naomi's face. She was pale. Trembling. But she didn't look away."Three years ago," she began, "I was recruited by the network. Not by choice. They had my family. They threatened to kill them if I didn't cooperate. I was young. Scared. I did what they asked."Dante's jaw tightened. "That's the same story you told me before.""Because it's true. But there's more." She took a shaky breath. "After my family died, I had nothing.
