As Allen was left in the silence.

Out of anger, he got up and signed it.

He then sat well on the floor and allowed his tears to fall.

Where will he start from?

Ella's father brought him from the orphanage where he grew up here three years ago.

On bringing him, he requested Allen to marry his daughter before he can keep him in the family.

Allen had agreed.

Not because he had a choice anyway.

The orphanage was a harsh place to be and he would appreciate the comfort.

Aside that, Ella turned out to be a very beautiful woman.

He was astonished the man was persistent on him marrying his daughter when he could easily get the best suitors for his daughter.

The man made sure Allen was well taken care of and respected.

Shorty after the marriage, he died of a mysterious illness.

Ever since then, things had been terrible for Allen.

His mother-in-law stopped treating him nicely.

Ella too, changed towards him totally and soon turned him into an errand boy in their home.

But Allen had no choice but to endure.

He had been saved by Ella's father and thus, indebted to her family.

That alone, has been his strength to endure it all.

But now, the relationship he had tried so hard to sustain had crumbled.

Ella and her mother had sent him away and he also had no where to go.

He laughed painfully at how pathetic his state was.

He noticed his phone vibrating in his pockets

It had been ringing since he got home but the trouble he met with, deprived him of giving it attention.

He checked the wall clock and saw it was half past eleven towards midnight.

He angrily took the phone to check who was disturbing him by this time of the night.

His eyes bulged when he saw its content.

89 MISSED CALLS!

AND ONE MESSAGE!

Surprise found itself spread across his face.

Who could this be?

On his phone, he had only four contacts.

His Boss's number.

His mother-in-law.

Ella.

And Johnson, his colleague.

He checked the call logs, only to see it was from an unknown and private number.

All the call was from this numbers?!

Could it be his boss?!

But he knew his boss won't waste his time, calling him this much, no matter the circumstances.

He checked his inbox and the first message he saw, made him almost scream.

It was an alert of 40 million dollars.

As he checked, another message popped in.

It was a message from his bank.

His account received an extra 40 million dollars!

He almost went crazy at the sight and stood up.

He read through the message slowly to be sure he wasn't dreaming.

He continued to read it repeatedly, not believing his eyes.

It could be a network typo. Maybe.

Just then, the phone rang again.

It was the same number.

He instantly picked it." Hello?" He said in a hopeful voice.

" Young master! " the voice on the other end exclaimed.

Allen almost laughed. He was a nobody.

" Sorry. You must have dialed a wrong number," he said and was about to end the call.

But what the voice said next, stopped him.

" Sorry... Are you not Allen Penthorne?" The voice asked.

Allen was confused.

How did he know his name?

" Yes, I am." He placed the phone back on his ear.

" Then I'm correct! You're young master! It's so nice to hear your voice after such a long time,"

" I'm sure you must be confused right now,but I'll explain everything in the morning. I'll send my men to pick you up but for now, I've sent you 80 million as allowance. Forgive me if it seems little, I'll send more in the morning " the voice said.

Allen coughed twice, not believing his ears.

The man had sent the money!

Could this mean the money is real!

He took a deep breath.

" W-wait, who're you? And why do I believe you're not a sham?! How do i know you're not some international criminal or something?" Allen asked as he paved around the room in worry.

The man on the other side laughed.

" I am Sir Edward, I'm your father's assistant. Your father owns the richest consortium in the country which is now yours . I've been looking for you for a very long time"

Allen didn't feel convinced.

His family was dead, that was what he was told.

" Then how did you get my number! How did you find me?!" Allen demanded.

" We found out your location few weeks back but we had to made sure it was really you before proceeding. I'm sure you must have noticed random eyes staring at you at intervals. Those are our men." The old man laughed.

Allen thought about it.

The man was right!

He had observed how random strangers had glared at him every now and then.

And how he saw the same faces each time, thinking it was a mere coincidence.

The old man's voice interrupted his thoughts.

" I know you'll be confused but I'll explain it all when it's morning. Go rest now. I'll send for you soon" the man said.

He wanted to talk more but the call ended abruptly.

He tried calling back but the information he received was that the number was not in existence.

That added to his curiosity.

Millions of questions raced through his mind.

He didn't even know what to believe anymore.

He kept refreshing his account balance and seeing the 80 million intact fueled his anxiety.

He wanted to make a transaction to confirm the alert but was scared it might lead law enforcement agencies towards him.

That night, he couldn't sleep, thinking that the FBI might show up anytime soon, knocking.

He felt drowsy and forced himself to stay awake.

Soon, it was morning and he felt grateful for that fact.

He took his bath very early, dressed up and sat waiting for Ella to show up.

His plan was simple.

Immediately she arrives, he would go on his knees and beg her till she took him back.

Simple as that.

He checked his time, it was still early in the morning

7:21am.

He could see the sun setting outside, from the tiny lines in the window curtains.

She will be here anytime soon.

Just as he took his phone to call her, the door bell rang.

A smile appeared on his lips as he rushed to meet her.

But he hesitated.

Ella would have barged in, instead of ringing the bell.

With uncertainty, he went to answer the door.

Immediately he opened the door, the sight he met with, made him shiver at first.

In front of him, stood about twenty man dressed in tailored black suits and dark googles.

Behind them, laid a convoy of black cars.

It was so long, it created traffic in the small street and outsiders began to notice.

His heart pumped hard in fear at the sight.

They looked cut straight out of a spy movie poster.

Is this the FBI?

Are they here to arrest him?

His heart beat harder with his thoughts.

He could not even talk as his lips felt paralyzed with fear.

On seeing him, they all went down on their knees, bowing respectfully.

They stood up and one who happened to be the leader stepped out.

He then handed Allen a letter sealed in gold.

Allen studied their face.

Their faces was void of smile.

He wouldn't want to anger them so he reluctantly collected the letter.

Immediately he received it, the man marched back to his men, forming a synchronized line.

Their persistent staring indicated they wanted him to open the letter.

He opened it slowly and it read,

" Welcome back, young master "

Allen continued " If my father had all this… if my family was alive, why… why did I suffer like that? Why did it take so long? ” Sir Edward’s eyes grew distant, sad like someone who carried guilt for years. “Nineteen years ago, on a summer evening, your father took the whole family, your mother, your brothers, and you—out for a treat.” “Then the car… the accident happened. It was brutal. When we got to the scene, we only found the charred remains of your mother, and the bodies of your two brothers. Your father’s body too… but your body wasn't there.” " You were inside too, Allen... but somehow, you miraculously survived.” Allen’s heart raced. Maybe this was the reason he never remembered anything from his childhood. " We thought maybe… just maybe, you survived. But no one could trace where you went " “We searched everywhere. All we found was a torn piece of your father’s coat, stained with blood. Blood that traced back to Fredrick but the devil denied everything. He manipula
