Allen stood at the bus stop, among the pool of bodies, observing the busy road before him while biting his lips lightly. He noticed some bystanders were secretly stealing glances at him, probably due to his obvious uneasiness. He wished he could explain what troubled his mind but he was sure they would just laugh at him.It was night time and he had to get home on time to prepare dinner for his wife.He checked his wristwatch and stamped his feet in anger after realizing how fast time has gone. His boss, Mr Geraldine had intentionally delayed him without reason, giving him extra work while he exempted his colleagues. He remembered how his colleagues sneered at him when this happened. He tried to protest, saying he had urgent things to do but it all fell on deaf ears. It left him no choice but to do it and it had cost him an extra thirty minutes aside his working hours, hence the reason why he's minutes behind the time he's meant to be at home.He could still recall his boss's words.

The man behind laughed. " A nobody like him doesn't deserve a beauty like Ella. He should know his place. Ella is better off in my care," he said and walked over to Ella.He brought out his napkin which he used to wipe the tip of her eyes gently. " Someone like him doesn't deserve you. Accept me and I'll take care of you in unimaginable ways." The man smiled as Ella looked up to him.Mrs Flora laughed." I wonder why you keep delaying the divorce with Allen. Just present him with the papers and be done with him or Don't tell me you are already head over heels with that loser?" Mrs Flora said angrily and Allen's ears straightened. What?Ella had been planning a divorce all this while. He doesn't want to believe his ears and stared at her.The stare he received from her proved all his fears right." Impossible! She won't accept him, right? " He said to himself, denying himself the truth.Mrs Flora laughed once again and pointed to the young man." Sir Rodney here is the manager of Great

As Allen was left in the silence. Out of anger, he got up and signed it.He then sat well on the floor and allowed his tears to fall. Where will he start from?Ella's father brought him from the orphanage where he grew up here three years ago.On bringing him, he requested Allen to marry his daughter before he can keep him in the family.Allen had agreed. Not because he had a choice anyway. The orphanage was a harsh place to be and he would appreciate the comfort.Aside that, Ella turned out to be a very beautiful woman. He was astonished the man was persistent on him marrying his daughter when he could easily get the best suitors for his daughter. The man made sure Allen was well taken care of and respected.Shorty after the marriage, he died of a mysterious illness.Ever since then, things had been terrible for Allen. His mother-in-law stopped treating him nicely.Ella too, changed towards him totally and soon turned him into an errand boy in their home. But Allen had no choice bu

He looked at them in shock. " So I'm your young master?!" He said to himself, aloud " Yes, Boss!" The man responded in a synchronized shout. He blinked his eyes and let out an amusing smile. It felt so real, a part of him believed. He knew men as structured and disciplined as this won't be going about, playing pranks on him. They were clearly too expensive for that. But how did all this happen? If his father is really wealthy as proclaimed, why did he allow him to suffer? Why did he have to spend his childhood in an orphanage and suffer while his family was actually alive?!Did they resent him?Did they send him off for a reason. He couldn't understand Just then, his phone rang. " Good morning, Allen" the voice from yesterday said as Allen picked the call. Allen was elated. " You're right! You're right!!! " He could hardly contain his excitement. The voice smiled. " That confirms that you have seen the men, " " Yes. But if this is real. then that means the eighty million is

Allen continued " If my father had all this… if my family was alive, why… why did I suffer like that? Why did it take so long? ” Sir Edward’s eyes grew distant, sad like someone who carried guilt for years. “Nineteen years ago, on a summer evening, your father took the whole family, your mother, your brothers, and you—out for a treat.” “Then the car… the accident happened. It was brutal. When we got to the scene, we only found the charred remains of your mother, and the bodies of your two brothers. Your father’s body too… but your body wasn't there.” " You were inside too, Allen... but somehow, you miraculously survived.” Allen’s heart raced. Maybe this was the reason he never remembered anything from his childhood. " We thought maybe… just maybe, you survived. But no one could trace where you went " “We searched everywhere. All we found was a torn piece of your father’s coat, stained with blood. Blood that traced back to Fredrick but the devil denied everything. He manipula

“Did you think I’d let you off that easy?” Grey breathed hotly against Allen’s face. Allen sighed and scratched his head . He was not ready for all this and had more pressing matters on his head. He thought of an escape. He knew how much Grey loved money and then reached into his pocket and pulled out his sleek black card, Sir Edward gave him earlier “Here,” he said, extending it toward Grey. “This card has approximately a hundred million dollars on it. Take it. Buy whatever you want. Just let me leave in peace.” Grey’s face went pale. His voice rose, catching the attention of everyone nearby. “You clearly stole this!” he barked. “Black cards like this are reserved for the elite. Only men of prestigious reputation carry them. You think you can fool me? You’ll rot in jail for this! ” Laughter and whispers rippled through the crowd. People began pointing, sneering, Allen felt so humiliated as it only worsen his migraine. “ You can't fool me, the owner's name will be on

His mind ran a thousand miles instantly in panic. He forgot he was no longer the poor and broke Allen and his palms began to sweat.“I’m dead,” he whispered to himself, panic rising fast.“How the hell am I supposed to pay for a Porsche?!”He stumbled out of his car, heart pounding, already rehearsing apologies. It was a slight dent and the small smoke was actually coming from his car. But still, his heart nearly jumped out of his chest. The driver of the expensive, sleek Porsche, stepped out furiously.“Are you blind?!” the man shouted, storming toward Allen. An escort SUV had been trailing behind the Porsche. Before he could blink, the car doors flew open, and three soldiers in full black suits jumped out. They rushed toward him and encircled himTheir guns d

Allen stepped out of the elevator and walked through the long corridor that led to Mr. Geraldine’s office. A few employees looked up from their desks but he paid them no attention. He opened the door without knocking.Mr. Geraldine, hunched over a pile of documents, didn’t look up. “I hope you’ve come to explain why you vanished and left your duties hanging, Allen. The audacity! You won't be paid this month—”“I came to resign.”Mr. Geraldine looked up, his face creasing in disbelief. “Excuse me?”The Allen he knew would have started begging at the mention of his pay being pended.Allen walked to the desk and placed a sealed envelope down. “My formal resignation. Effective immediately.”Mr Geraldine stood, pushing his chair back “You think you can just waltz in here and quit like you matter? You’re nothing, Allen. You should be grateful we even let you near a desk!”Allen looked at him calmly. “ Grateful you treated me like a trash!" He chuckled.“What are you even talking about?” Mr

She turned and saw her mother standing at the foot of the stairs. With a soft smile, Ella walked toward her."What is it, my love? You look a bit off," her mother asked, gently brushing a strand of hair from Ella's face.Ella forced a small smile. "It's nothing... I was just looking for Allen. Have you seen him?"At the mention of his name, her mother’s cheerful expression vanished, replaced by a scowl."Why on earth are you looking for that freeloader? When I came back this morning, he was nowhere to be found. I'm sure he left last night, probably in tears."Ella exhaled, not saying anything. Her mother narrowed her eyes "Wait... he didn’t sign the divorce papers, did he?"When Ella handed the letter to her mother, she took one glance at it and didn’t look the least bit surprised.“He signed it?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.“Yes,” Ella replied quietly. “And that’s what’s strange… The Allen I know would never give up so easily. He’d be here, on his knees, begging.”Her mother scoff
