Chapter 34

A few women had left to get extra supplies along with Thelma, Rose and Olivia

It was only until last night that we realized that people still eat and water is an essential of life. With the villagers crashing at the hotel, all this supplies need to be in the hotel with us

Some other women had volunteered to get the farm produce they had and others go to get anything they might find and the rest especially the younger ones arrange for water from the hotel

This leaves me and the Boys the opportunity to find out where these men stayed. We need to know if they stay at the mansion or another place

The mansion is going to be our last resort or in essence we are not going there, if we have checked everywhere and no sign of anyone then the only plausible location will be the mansion

Another thing we hope to find is how they transport themselves. We all can recall that it was a long drive to this place and if we go by foot – I don’t even want to imagine what my pretty legs will have to say about that

So we just aimlessly scan the forest area around the village, knowing well to mark the places we have been so we don’t go in circles, another thing to consider was the border to the village, I sincerely don’t want to convulse to death

Following willow’s lead we roam the forest sliding across trees and stepping slowly on the soft soil areas

I was careful to cover every inch of my skin with the thick black leather pants I wore with ankle boots and black leather jacket that covered my pink tank top

I had decided to wash my hair and carefully brush it with every product I could get my hands on so my hair manage to glow and the messy curls have straightened a bit so I don’t look so much like shit anymore when I leave it to fall on my shoulders and I did apply a little lipstick – at least I shine a little

Willow has his attire from when we first met him and Tony has a jacket on jeans with a black round neck top inside. He huge hands cover mine as he gently pull me through the forest. We had deodorant sprays handy in case something comes up and we couldn’t make it back

A black rope that wounded tree to tree appear before us and we stop “this must be the border” Willow says and bends over, he digs a little into the ground and rips out the orange material and flaunts it at our faces “this is one of them” he says and we nod along.

One of the weird codes we were wasting our time trying to read was carved into the tree “I think we are not compulsorily digging out all of them to be able to leave, we just need to dig some particular ones” I suggest

“how would you know that?” Willow asks with a grin

“Olivia, apparently she was the one in the hut that you ransacked. She had someone trying to get her out” I never told them Olivia's story

Maybe because I wasn't sure if it was my place to and she was too emotional that day that I couldn't asked her if I could tell the others

“wait… what?!” Tony yells and I slap my palm on his mouth but he eyes still pop

“I forgot to tell you guys –” the fact here is that whatever it was she knew might be our bet to survival and I am not willing to keep the info we might need to survive. If she didn't trust me to make this kind of decisions she wouldn't have told me on the first place

We continue strolling as I fill them in on what Olivia told me that night excluding the part of what brought her here in the first place. I don’t think she would appreciate everyone knowing that. Willow nods and smiles

“she had always known something. But still didn’t say anything” he tsk and forces the orange material into his hoody front pocket

“yea, she had left the village too but she got caught before she could go far” I respond

Tony hisses to himself “I always knew something was off about her. Good thing I finally fitted the puzzle”

“I get it now, he wrote out the ones that needed to be removed for her to be able to cross over” Willow says slowing his steps for us to catch up

“maybe because they are too many or removing all have a different effect on the village” I respond

“doesn’t matter, we just focus on the ones he wrote out” Tony declares

“this one?” Willow rips the material from his pocket and points it at us

“I don’t know… since we already removed it, we can just leave with it” Tony says and I shrug in support

“or burn it already” I blurt

“we should circle the border, thanks to this rope we will not cross it. maybe we would find something useful” Willow turns away from us again

“sounds like a good plan” Tony finalizes

A stroll through the border wasn’t as easy as we earlier stated, the uneven ground below us and the numerous deeps we had to circle round made sure we expended the junk we had consumed before coming out here

We had gone through this for some time now and we settled to rest a little before we continue from where we stopped,

and like that we continue aimlessly

We only had to go a few extra miles before we would come across something that kept us gaping from where we hid

It was a house – I mean a small unpainted house. It is tiny and cube-like, the unkept metal door and rough zinc roof covered with long leaves in some areas showed that the house was rushed

The brick structure was visible and around the house were low grasses and a black tinted bus was packed in front of the building that face away from a narrow untarred road path. Apart from that, nothing else. But it was just a few miles from the border

We sit on the soil waiting for anything but what we are currently looking at. Time went by and the bus is still packed in front of the tiny house

“the house is quiet and look empty” I say with a ragged breath

“yea, this could be their meeting place” Willow whispers cutting his eye at me - yea, maybe I was a little bit too loud

“if they fit into this place then they can only be a handful of them” Tony counters scowling at the building

“which I highly doubt, there is still the mansion for habitation” I say

“so what is the use for this house then?” Willow asks turning towards us

“I don’t know, maybe they meet with their client here. That over there” Tony points to the solar panel lined on the floor a few miles from the house and we follow his finger “it is a solar panel and although it doesn’t seem like it, it powers the house”

“wow, electricity… its been ages” Willow whispers and I grin at him knowing better not to laugh

“but the house is too small to house people in it and it is totally unkept” I say

“it could be their storage place. Looks like that to me” Tony says

Willow tsk “to store what exactly?” he asks and their lids tear apart slowly, then they both look at me

“can we not?” I hiss at them “I know you guys are thinking organs and all those scary thoughts”

“that is the only plausible explanation” Willow says with amusement written on his face and Tony blows a laugh

Are they really teasing me right now? Or is this their way of adsorbing the fact that this secret organization might need our organs?

“there is a lot of plausible explanation guys” I roll my eyes at them

“she is right, let us not jump into uncomfortable conclusions” Tony says and I smile at him in response

“of course she is” Willow rolled his eyes and backs us and I silently giggle making him groans in frustration
