Jude stared at Brody in silence before nodding his head.

“Alright, I'll take your word for it. I'll begin the preparation to hunt down the prey at that location. If you dare give me one excuse or the other later on, I won't hesitate to have you killed.”

Brody vowed before the man.

“Trust me, boss. I won't fail you.”

There was a moment of silence before Jude waved his hand lazily.

“Get lost. The sight of you is starting to make my eyes itch.”

He waited until Brody was about to walk past the door when he suddenly spoke.

“By the way, where are those two henchmen of yours? I mean the new ones you came back with? I rarely see them with you. That's unlike you. I remember the last ones I killed in front of you. They used to flock around you like some foolish dogs.”

The room burst into laughter laced with mockery as Brody stiffened. Surely, those words were meant to bring back the painful reminder of the two original henchmen who were killed off as punishment.

Brody spoke with a taut voice.
