Amanda scoffed in disbelief while the pieces danced in the air.
“How dare you!” Luther yelled at Devin and approached him to throw a punch in his face. Devin staggered back as pain shot through his body, and he spit out the blood that had seeped into his mouth. “NO way, are you a limp-dick or what? Can’t you try harder, sugar baby...” Devin mocked. “... Or did sleeping with that slut turn you into a slut too,” Devin said with provocation. But the next second, he was kicked to the ground by Luther. “You are done! Mr.Luther will make you regret being born into this world!” Amanda glared at him fiercely. “Who the fuck do you think you're talking to?” Luther stepped on Devin's face, and the immense pain made Devin roar in anger. "You son of a bitch! Get the fuck off!". But Luther pressed him even harder, he could even hear the sound of his own bones breaking. “What a ridiculous joke! Look at you, broke, beaten up, and in the end, you'll become a homeless stray dog.” Amanda laughed as Luther's cruelty persisted. “That's the consequence of your bravado! Your life is over!” Luther said to Devin, but soon he furrowed his brows, cause this motherfucker was actually laughing. “Anything funny?” He snapped. “You know what? You just pulled that 'your life's over' shit like a fucking Boy Scout at a talent show. Oh no, I'm so scared!” Devin stated, but the next second he got punched in his face, he could feel his teeth loosening. “Clueless bastard! You’ll pay today!” Luther snapped and hurled at Devin. Luther placed his massive weight on Devin and pinned him down, punching him repeatedly and furiously in the face. “You're begging for death, aren't you?” Luther kissed his teeth as he resumed his punching. Soon, Devin's eyes were swollen, and Amanda watched with intrigue as Luther beat Devin up. “That'll teach you a lesson!” She yelled at Devin. Devin's vision was getting blurrier and blurrier. He didn't want to die like this. He couldn't die like this! Driven by a strong will to survive, he fought back desperately. "Bang!" With a powerful blow he'd been building up, he knocked Luther to the ground. He pressed on with the advantage and firmly choked Luther's neck with his hands. The greasy feeling made him sick, but the sense of controlling a life made him feel elated. He was alive again! But Luther was on the verge of suffocating and kept slapping Devin's arms, but the other guy didn't let go. Instead, he tightened his grip even more. “Let him go!” Amanda cried out and screamed as Devin tightened his grip around Luther's neck. Amanda sneaked up on him and hit him with a brick. He let out a muffled groan, lost his strength, and his body fell to the ground uncontrollably. Gasping for breath, Luther struggled to his feet and took the opportunity to kick him. “You dare to touch me with those dirty hands of yours? I'll end your fucking life!” Luther managed to croak while waving his hands in a frenzy. “Fucking kill him! Or none of you motherfuckers will get out of here alive!” Luther commanded his bodyguards. The bodyguards swung into action. They kicked Devin to the ground and didn't stop beating him even when he bled profusely. Amanda supported Luther and tried to leave the place. However, with her sharp eyes, she caught sight of a magnificent box. “Stop…”Amanda commanded and walked towards him. She stepped hard on Devin’s hand with her high-heeled shoes and took it. “What do we have here?” She mocked him while she opened the box, and found a magnificent Ruby necklace. “Come on! Who the hell do you think you're fooling? This kind of fake is only fit to stay in the trash can with your crappy ring.” Amanda chuckled and threw the necklace into the trash bag “No!” Devin groaned but Amanda laughed. She helped Luther away while the bodyguards still pinned him down. At this very moment, Devin plunged into utter despair. That was his mother's precious relic, the wedding gift he had painstakingly prepared to present to Amanda. But she nonchalantly, even disdainfully, tossed it aside as if it were trash. How goddamn ironic! His heart, as if attached to that box, was hurled away and smashed into countless fragments. Fury filled Devin's heart while he watched them. They truly had no shame or conscience, not even a little bit. They are unworthy of being called human. But immediately after, the pain came from all directions, and he could even clearly hear the sound of his own ribs cracking. The leading man took out a sharp dagger and stabbed it hard into Devin's lower abdomen. Blood spurted out, startling the others. Devin felt that his intestines were being pulled by him, and then his internal organs... He was dying! Suddenly, Devin felt an energy rise within him. At first, it was like a little heat, but soon it rose like a flame. He didn't know what was wrong with him, but it seemed as if he had lost his sense of pain in an instant. All those intense aches vanished. He could even hear the faint sounds of his bones reconnecting and blood flowing back. As if he were on the verge of rebirth!

The shopping mall Klaus picked wasn’t just high end, it was obnoxiously elite. The place was full of chandeliers, glass floors, heavy perfume scents, and workers who looked like they hadn’t blinked since their shift started. Amanda strutted through the entrance in designer sunglasses and a skin tight black dress that screamed. Klaus walked beside her in a navy suit with no tie, chewing gum and looking around like he owned the planet. “This place smells like desperation and overpriced lotion.” Amanda said, turning her nose up at the scent of vanilla and citrus. “It’s not desperation.” Klaus replied, barely glancing at the employees who’d stopped everything to bow their heads. “It’s fear. Fear that we’ll speak.” Amanda smirked. “As we should.” The first boutique they entered had a staff of five, all standing in a perfect line. A blonde salesgirl walked up with an overly fake smile. “Welcome to Odets, madam, sir. May I assist you with—” “No.” Amanda cut her off sharply

Amanda woke up in silk sheets. Yes, actual silk. The kind you’d find in movies or fashion magazines, the kind that she used to enjoy before her life turned to dust, costing way more than people’s rent. She stretched, smiling, and then turned to the side. A gold tray sat beside the bed, stacked with fresh strawberries, warm croissants, and a flute of champagne. A note lay beside the glass, folded neatly. She picked it up to read. -Join me on the terrace when you’re done. – K.- Amanda raised a brow. Klaus. She still didn’t know what his deal was. The man had picked her up from the street when she was done yelling for Devin like a stray dog, but instead of throwing her in a shelter, he brought her to this fucking palace. Who the hell was he even? And what did he want with her? She climbed out of bed and winced a little. Her body still ached, and not just from the rain. Her heart was raw, and her pride was still in pieces from everything that had taken place before then. But to

Devin’s Rolls-Royce pulled smoothly into his private underground parking garage as Dreykov went to open the car door for him. The deal was sealed, the mayor's invite was sitting in the glove box, and Devin had every reason to feel at the top of the world. He got out of the car, loosened his tie, and stretched slightly, smiling. He was about to see his gorgeous woman. “Anything else you need sir?” Dreykov asked. “No, thank you.” “I’ll park the car and be with you shortly.” Dreykov said. Just as Devin was about to head towards the mansion, Viktor came out of nowhere. “You’re late.” Viktor said, folding his arms with a frown on his face. Devin scowled. “How did you just do that? And you’re not my timekeeper.” “You haven’t responded to my last few messages.” Viktor continued. “We need to talk about something urgent.” Devin sighed, running a hand through his hair. “About what, Viktor?” “The portal. It has to be opened, and you need to—” “No. I already t
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTEEN
The boardroom on the top floor of the Stonehenge Conglomerate headquarters was made of pure hard glass and steel, and it had this cold yet elegant vibe, as it was designed to intimidate. Devin sat at the head of the table, looking like a man born to sit on thrones others only dreamed of. And he was in fact, doing that. His grey suit was tailored to perfection, and he wore a satisfied smirk as he flipped through the final page of the contract. Opposite him sat five of the most powerful stakeholders in the international fintech space. Men in their late fifties, who were sharp, greying at the edges, and wearing shoes more expensive than most people’s apartments. One of them, who was a dark skinned man named Elias Vegas, leaned forward. “I have to say, Stone…” Elias started to speak, tapping the edge of the folder with one finger. “When you made this offer two weeks ago, I thought you were a bold little bastard.” Devin looked up calmly. “Really? And now?” Elias smiled. “N

Amanda didn’t know how long she had been walking. Her feet were burning in her heels, and her thighs were very sore from Luther’s roughness, and her pride? Oh that had left her hours ago. The only thing keeping her going now was rage. Blinding, bitter rage, and a bit of hope. Wherever she went, they were always people to call her names and take photos of her. The most pleasant ones were the ones who stopped to stare and whisper, as somehow, they news had gotten round. Amanda was now #1 most hated person in the country. A young man stopped her, staring into her eyes. She tried to walk around him but he still blocked her way. Frustrated, she stomped the ground. “What do you want?” “I want to fuck you.” He said brazenly. “Are you crazy? I’m not a whore!” “Everyone else says otherwise. Or is it money you want?” He asked, waving his card in her face. Amanda groaned as he took a picture of her. “I can goon off to this later.” He was about to side stepped her when in r
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND ELEVEN
Amanda sighed, looking around to see that she was still getting scornful glances. Everyone has rejected her. Society, Luther, and even her own mother. Had she been wrong to kill Steve? If only for a while, she could have— she wished she could change the hands of time, but that was impossible. All she had now was herself. She bent down to pick up her phone and it started to ring immediately. Luther! She gasped when she saw the caller ID, and was about to pick it up when someone bumped heavily into her, throwing her into the ground. “Watch the fucking road!” She screeched. The guy who had pushed her just looked at her scornfully. “I just put you in your place, whore!” “Your mother!” She swore, picking up the phone. “Your sex tape wasn’t even good!” Amanda’s cheeks flared up and she picked up the call. “Hello.” Her voice was as meek as possible. “You bitch! I can’t believe you had the audacity…” Luther was beyond furious. “I can explain, please. That… that wa
