Those who could afford it evacuated to the four fortified countries.

People lived in peace inside the four fortified countries, and everything outside the walls was forgotten. Sometimes, troops from the fortified countries would go out and search for more survivors. If found, they would bring them to the fortified countries.

The four countries were no longer called countries but cities because they consisted of mixed races. Each city got named, respectively, according to where it was located on the map. Westward, eastward, southward, and northward.
