A surge of intense, liquid warmth erupted from his chest, instantly flowing through his limbs, spine and muscles.
Gideon gasped as his posture straightened naturally.
His shoulders broadened, his core tightened and his vision became noticeably sharper.
He could feel the dense, powerful surge of energy coursing under his skin—his body had been upgraded.
He raised his right fist and clenched it tightly.
The faint sound of air compressing beneath his grip filled the quiet office.
He glanced at the floating system panel.

Gideon let out a breath and a cold, dangerous smile spreading across his face.
Cutting off a toxic traitor didn't just give him peace of mind—it made him physically stronger.
He closed the system window with a wave of his hand and walked back over to his desk, grabb his car keys and jacket.
"Step one complete," Gideon muttered to himself, his eyes flashing with a sharp golden light. "Now... it's time to get some real money."
He tossed his jacket over his shoulder and strode out of his office toward the elevator.
...
The elevator doors chimed and slid open on the ground floor lobby of Metro Commercial Center.
Gideon walked past the polished marble pillars ignoring the nods from the front desk security guards.
He stepped out into the bright morning heat, pulled out his phone and tapped his main investment manager’s contact.
The call connected on the second ring.
"Gideon!" his senior broker spoke cheerfully through the earphone. "I was just looking at your portfolio. Your tech shares are up twelve percent this morning. Excellent timing—"
"Sell everything," Gideon interrupted, his voice flat.
Silence fell over the line for a beat.
"Excuse me?" the broker laughed nervously. "Did I hear you right? Sell everything? Gideon, your holdings in the skyscraper expansion fund are gaining massive interest—"
"Sell every stock, bond and equity share I own right now," Gideon repeated, stepping into his black SUV. "Execute a rapid liquidation order."
"Gideon, a fast liquidation means you take an immediate fifteen percent penalty f*e for instant cash settlement!" the broker argued, his tone rising. "You'll lose over a hundred thousand dollars in penalties alone!"
"I don't care about the penalty," Gideon said, leaning his arm against the steering wheel. "I want the funds cleared into my primary account within two hours. Do it now."
The broker sighed deeply through the speaker. "Fine... if you're certain. But this is financial suicide."
"Just process the trade."
Gideon hung up without waiting for a reply.
He tossed the phone onto the passenger seat and started the engine.
Liquidating his personal assets would yield roughly one million net cash after penalties.
Combined with his savings, he would have around two million dollars.
For an ordinary person, two million dollars is a fortune.
But for fortifying three entire floors of a commercial skyscraper with titanium armor, independent power grids, geothermal air filters and thousands of tons of long-term food... it's not nearly enough.
He pulled out of the parking garage and merged into the city traffic, heading straight toward the financial district.
Twenty minutes later, Gideon pulled up in front of a building with blacked-out glass windows on the south side of Metro City.
A small iron plaque beside the door read:
Blackwood Capital & Credit.
It was the main front for Big Tiger, the largest underground loan shark in the commercial district.
In his past life, Masterson had borrowed millions from this syndicate to finance his shady property deals.
Gideon walked inside while ignoring the set of security guards standing by the metal detector.
The interior smelled of stale tobacco and expensive leather.
Behind a massive mahogany desk sat Big Tiger—a man with a shaved head and a thick gold chain around his neck... and a scar running down his left cheek.
Big Tiger looked up from a stack of cash squinting at Gideon.
"You're not one of my usual clients," Big Tiger grunted, leaning back in his leather chair. "Who sent you?"
"I need a loan," Gideon said, taking a seat opposite the loan shark without waiting for an invitation. "A large one."
Big Tiger chuckled, tapping his gold ring against the polished wood. "I like a man who gets straight to the point. What kind of collateral do you have?"
"My architectural equity shares, my personal property titles and a high-interest personal pledge," Gideon said calmly. "I need three million dollars in cash today."
Big Tiger stopped tapping his ring as his eyes narrowed into dangerous slits.
"Three million?" Big Tiger sneered, leaning forward. "Do you know what my repayment interest rate is, kid? Thirty percent monthly. If you miss a single payment, my boys will come for your legs."
Gideon didn't flinch nor blink.
'In seven days, money will be useless paper and your thugs will be shadow food,' Gideon thought, a dark smirk playing on his lips.
"Thirty percent is fine," Gideon said, his voice entirely steady. "Wire the three million to my account within the hour and I'll sign whatever paper you put in front of me."
Big Tiger stared at Gideon for five seconds trying to find a trace of fear or hesitation in his face.
But found none.
He then let out a booming laugh, slapping his palm against the desk.
"You've got balls, kid! I like idiots who don't care about their lives!" Big Tiger signaled to his assistant. "Bring out the contract. Three million cash wire, thirty percent monthly interest."
Ten minutes later, Gideon signed his name on the final page of the contract with zero hesitation.
[PING!]
The moment the ink dried, a golden-blue screen flashed quietly in Gideon's vision.
[System Directive Triggered: Money Conversion!]
[Current Liquid Capital: $5,245,800.00]
[System Recommendation: Convert all capital into high-grade titanium vault doors, thermal insulation, solar-grade circuits and long-term emergency reserves!]
Gideon closed the panel with a flick of his eyes.
Over five million dollars in cash sat in his account.
He stood up, tucked his copy of the contract into his jacket and walked toward the exit.
"Don't forget the first payment is due on the first of next month!" Big Tiger called out from behind him, chuckling darkly.

Viper groaned in agony clutching his crushed wrist against his chest while staring up at Gideon with terror."Go back to Big Tiger," Gideon said, leaning down until his eyes were inches from Viper's face. "Tell him if he sends another thug to Floor 48 before the first of the month, I won't just break wrists. I'll throw them down the elevator shaft.""I... I'll tell him! I swear!" Stacks of crisp hundred-dollar bills filled the leather interior."Five hundred thousand dollars," Gideon said, leaning against the truck door. "Consider it your signing bonus."Mark swallowed hard looking at Gideon with trembling eyes. "Gideon... what is going on? Is someone after you? Why do you need a fortress?"Gideon looked up at the sunny sky above the industrial district, his golden glint flashing in his eyes."The sun is going dark in six days Mark," Gideon said, his voice dropping low. "The temperature will drop to minus forty, and monsters will eat anyone standing in the dark. We are building the Sun Temple at the top of Metro Commercial Center. I need the best welder in Metro City to turn it into an impenetrable steel vault.
