Despite leveling up 3 times the previous day, even as all his attributes increased with his level ups, something remained stagnant, his health points.
Despite leveling up 3 times, his total HP remained unchanged.
This led Clinton to conclude that his total HP would only increase when he either gained a class, leaving his classless status or when he finally evolved from a normal Undead Skeleton into a higher form of skeleton monster.
Here in this decaying forest, the concept of time was not straightforward since the world was always plunged in perpetual darkness.
Clinton only used his vague senses to determine time.
And today, after waking up from his nap under the roots of the decaying tree, the first thing that came to Clinton’s mind was not to hunt further but rather, the first thing that came to his mind was exploration.
If this was the first level of this dungeon, wherever it was and it followed the rules of a game, then there must be a gate that led to the next level of the dungeon.
And if there was a gate, there was a great likelihood of there being a gate guardian that protected the gate.
At the moment, all these were just speculations and Clinton yearned to clarify these speculations so he would not be left second-guessing.
This was why, waking up fresh and revitalized after the exhausting events of his first day since reincarnating into this world, he decided it was time to go out.
With his first skill, bone assembling that originally seemed useless but was slowly proving its use, Clinton was not scared of meeting dangerous enemies.
At the worst-case scenario, he could simply hide from their reach again by disassembling his bony body and entering where his enemies could not access.
And with that, he began his exploration.
…
Just 2 hours later, Clinton was done with his exploration.
He finally understood the full layout of this level of the dungeon. It was smaller than he expected, much smaller.
The only reason why he took so long to fully explore the dungeon was because of his cautious approach, not wanting to antagonize any of the monsters in the dungeon, most especially the Ogres.
By now, Clinton already learned something new too.
He learned something new about level 5 monsters in this level of the dungeon after having his first encounter with them.
Level 5 monsters were the strongest monsters in this level of the dungeon and unlike the other monsters, these apex predators already had access to magic.
There was only one level 5 Green Goblin in the whole first level of the dungeon, Clinton already confirmed.
There was also just one level 5 Undead Tree but as for the Ogres? The Ogres had three menacing level 5 Ogres.
The level 5 Green Goblin had access to basic ice magic.
The level 5 Undead Tree had access to wood magic, while the three level 5 Ogres had access to devastating stone magic that made them deadly predators of this level of the dungeon.
Despite all their power and magic though, they were not the absolute rulers of this level of the dungeon, they were not the apex predator.
After his exploration, Clinton learned that this level of the dungeon was smaller than he expected. It was just 2 kilometers long and wide.
Like he expected, there were only 3 different specie of monsters residing here; the Green Goblins, the Undead Trees, and the Ogre.
The population of monsters in this level of the dungeon never changed, always remaining constant no matter how many were killed at a time.
This made Clinton confirm even more that the workings of this world were similar to a game. Heck, maybe too similar even.
At some point, he had to ask in his mind. ‘Don’t tell me man!’
‘Don’t tell me, did I reincarnate inside a game?!’
‘The f*ck!’
He had to give his all to keep his composure and avoid freaking out. Thankfully, his passive skill, Calma was ever present at the rescue.
And just like he expected, this level of the dungeon indeed had a gate that likely led to a higher level of the dungeon.
And as expected, the gate had a powerful guardian.
The guardian of the gate was the apex predator of this level of the dungeon, and it was the sole 4th specie of this level of the dungeon.
The guardian of the gate was a powerful Golem who had access to stone magic that was even more powerful than that of the Ogres.
Beep!

{Warning! Enemy has been detected!}
{You have encountered a level 5 Guardian Golem!}
{You will die!}
(Miserable system hint: Escape or die!}

Clinton’s response to the system?
‘F*ck you!’
He did heed the warning though after watching one of the level 5 Ogres challenge the guardian only to be ripped to shreds by the unforgiving power of the Guardian Golem.
The level 5 Ogre respawned 5 hours later.
After his exploration, Clinton came to a conclusion. ‘I need more power!’
‘And if I am to get more powerful, I need to beat that guardian Golem and get access to level 2 of this dungeon’.
At that moment, he grinned spitefully. ‘Angel f*cking Athena, so this is your version of a world more miserable than hell for me to suffer right?’
He spat hatefully. ‘Yeah, I admit, this world is indeed insufferable and miserable but that is not enough to stop the almighty track King Clinton’.
‘Just watch me as I claw my way back from this hell worse than hell!’
‘Watch me as I rise from my ashes!’
‘Watch me as I rise from my ashes to destroy you!’
‘This, I vow, I will definitely get my revenge!’

Chapter 74: War Realm [9]
The fire had burned down to soft embers.The cold air of the War Realm crept into the ravine, brushing across rock, steel, and bone. A silence hung between the trio; not tense, but heavy. Weighted with unspoken truths and shared survival.Clinton had returned from his expedition to the territory of the Dreadjaw Tribe alive, and he revealed everything to them.That was what caused this tense silence between them after the initial argument. But there was something else in the tension, a truth hidden behind layers of blood and race.Clinton broke the silence.“We need to talk”.Vaelin didn’t move. Garrick looked up from the blade he was tending but said nothing.Clinton’s voice was quiet. “I’ve been patient. I didn’t ask questions when I should’ve. But now, I want to know”. He looked at them. “Why are you two after me? Why me? You didn’t just stumble onto my trail. You were tracking me. From the Monster Domain”.The die was cast.And now, there was no going back. This is the conversation
Chapter 73: War Realm [8]
Night cloaked the ravine in stillness, the fire Vaelin had managed to conjure flickering low in the ring of stone.Garrick sat near it, sharpening his blade with steady strokes, though his muscles remained coiled, ever ready. Vaelin stood nearby, arms crossed, gazing into the shadows beyond the ridge as though expecting monsters to crawl free of the dark.When Clinton returned, neither man stirred, but both took notice.He stepped into the firelight, quiet as ever, though something about his presence had changed.His gait wasn’t rushed or cautious. Rather, it was exposed, like someone who had walked through fire and returned with answers.“You’re alive,” Garrick said flatly, glancing up from his blade. “That’s a good start”.Vaelin’s eyes narrowed. “What did they say?”Clinton sat down beside the fire, letting the flickering warmth lick at his bones. “The chieftain, Grumak Skullspliter, knows I’m from another level”.The Human and Elf looked at him sharply.Clinton shrugged. “He calle
Chapter 72: War Realm [7]
The Dreadjaw encampment was chaos carved into order. Rows of tents made from beast hides and bone stretched along the uneven valley floor, surrounded by spikes, glyph wards, and pits lined with iron-tipped stakes.Fire burned at every corner, warriors sparred in blood-soaked rings, and the drums of war thundered endlessly.The stench of sweat, blood, and magic tainted the air.Clinton walked through it all, led by the shaman.All eyes turned to him, the skeleton cloaked in tattered robes, marked by silence and aura.Some hissed, some snarled, some even dropped to a crouch, unsure whether to pounce or kneel. But none attacked. The presence of the shaman warded them, for now.They reached the center of the encampment.There, a crude throne carved from the ribcage of a mountain wyrm loomed atop a raised stone platform. There sat the chieftain.DING!~----~[You have encountered Grumak Skullsplitter, Chieftain of the Dreadjaw Tribe, one of the 5 Orcish Tribes of the War Realm!][Level: 30]
Chapter 71: War Realm [6]
“I’ll do it”.Silence.A few moments later. “You sure?” Garrick asked.Clinton gave a hollow laugh. “I’m already a dead man in a world that hates me. What’s another risk?”Clinton was about to move on but as soon as a sudden mischievous thought entered his head, he couldn’t help it. Looking at the Elf and Human, a smile crept up his face which in his skeleton face only looked eerie.He grinned. “You know, I was a human once”.Garrick looked at him sharply, then he muttered coldly. “Good joke”.Clinton chuckled. “Take it any way you want, but that’s the truth”.“Besides, what’s so hard to accept? This skeleton, is it not that of a human?” He pointed at himself.Garrick looked at him coldly. “Skeletons are undead, hideous monsters of the World of Dark. You and your kin were created from the darkness. Even if you came from the remains of a human, the original soul is gone and resting in Heaven”.“So, no, you’re no human skeleton. You’re an undead”.“So serious”. Clinton chuckled.Convers
Chapter 70: War Realm [5]
After Clinton’s first cold lessons in the ravine with his teacher, Vaelin Duskwhisper, while he had a rest to recover from the exertion, Garrick finally brought up a new conversation.They couldn’t escape it, it was a conversation that they would have now or later. So, the human mercenary brought it up now.With a calm and even look on his face, he looked at them. “How do we move on from here?”The Elven assassin and undead skeleton looked up at him.Vaelin answered. “What do you mean?”Garrick looked at him. “This Orcish tribe”. He paused for a few moments, taking a dark look at the top of the ravine. “Obviously, we can’t go that way. We don’t have what it takes to beat that guy, and we won’t have it in a long time”.“And staying in one place is not an option either. Staying in one location in a realm we know so little about is a recipe for disaster”.“I agree”. Vaelin nodded.Garrick took a deep breath. “So, the only way to go is forward”.“From what we’ve observed about those Orcs
Chapter 69: War Realm [4]
The ravine, jagged and narrow, curled like a scar across the mountainside.It was brutal terrain; sharp rocks, thorn-rooted bushes, and the occasional growl from something unseen deeper in the shadows, but it was quiet. And more importantly, it was safe.Safe enough.Garrick slumped against the wall, chest heaving from the exertion of hauling two people through a nightmare.Vaelin sat nearby, cross-legged, arms folded tightly across his blood-caked armor. He hadn’t said a word since they stopped, just staring into the cold wind, silent and unreadable.There was a subtle tension between them. Afterall, they were yet to address the topic of previously kidnapping the skeleton.Clinton? He perched in the corner like a gargoyle, skeletal frame motionless, faint blue frost still wafting off his bones from the magic he had unleashed earlier. The battle with Gor’Zhul had nearly killed them… again.And yet somehow, they were still breathing. Or at least, two of them were.Finally, Vaelin broke
