Chapter 1: Evox Delhade

“Where am I?”

“Who am I?”

“Why’s everything so dark?”

“Maybe it’s because my eyes are closed”

“I’m going to open them,” The Lad said slowly, opening his eyes.

Immediately the Lad’s eyes were open, he was greeted by a middle aged man. It was obvious that the lad was being carried by the Man.

“ Why do I feel so small?’ The Lad thought to himself, waving his little hands at the Man, grabbing his attention.

It then dawned on the lad that he was actually a baby.

“I’m a baby!’ The Lad said, obviously shocked by his recent discovery.

Seeing that the Lad was awake, the man immediately erupted with joy, wearing a bright, warm smile.

“Whoa, He’s awake!” The Middle aged man exclaimed in surprise.

“Lilith….. Lilith, come and see.. He’s finally awake!” The man excitedly exclaimed .

Immediately, a young woman rushed into the room. She was extremely beautiful, with bright crimson eyes, long black hair, sharply pointed ears and smooth pale skin. She was currently wearing Medieval styled clothes and a red apron.

She was rather busty, as her boobs juggled freely in mid air, while she made way towards her husband and baby.

“Are you serious?” She answered, earnestly rushing towards the middle aged man and young lad.

“Wow, he’s really awake!” She commented, gasping in awe while she earnestly stared at the young lad.

“Since I’m a baby, those people are supposed to be my parents” The Lad thought to himself, extending his hands at Lilith, who appeared to be his mother.

“Awwn, he wants his Mama” The young beautiful woman chuckled, lifting her cute baby boy into the air while making funny faces.

“Ma…Ma!” The Lad suddenly stuttered, gravely shocking his parents.

“Keigus, did you hear him?” Lilith brightly exclaimed, obviously elated by the sudden occurrence.

“What in the world?” The young Man blurted in shock and in awe.

“Isn’t it too early for a baby demon to talk?” He worriedly added, staring at his little son with utmost confusion.

What Keigus said was indeed true, this happy family weren’t actually humans but Demons. Believed to be tyrannical beasts, the Demon resides in one of the four realms called, The Infernal. Hellish to other beings but a home sweet home to the Demon race.

The Demon Lad was actually a month old baby, which meant that the feat he just pulled off was obviously abnormal.

“Who cares…. My son called me Mama!” She excitedly said, earnestly staring at her brilliant but abnormal baby boy.

“Sweetie, what do we name him?” She promptly inquired, rocking her little boy back and forth with a warm, cheery smile engraved into her face.

“Hmm…” He pondered, stroking his chin.

“How about Evox?” He promptly responded with a proud smile engraved into his face.

Hearing her husband's words, She cheerfully nodded in affirmation, “Alright then, his name is Evox….. Evox Delhade” She brightly remarked, obviously beaming with joy.

“Evox…not bad” He thought, internally smirking.

Around them was a cosy and moderately furnished Medieval cottage, made entirely out of brick and wood.

“Wait a minute…. If I’m a baby, why do I have a sense of self-consciousness” He thought while making gibberish baby noises.

“I don’t think it’s normal, He added, noticing a loud grumble emanating from his stomach.

“Awwn….. He’s hungry” Lilith remarked.

“Yeah, really hungry… That was loud!” Keigus wryly commented, spitting his wife in the process.

Ignoring her husband’s comment, she slowly pulled out one of her enormous breasts which the little lad wasted no time in grabbing and fondling in his mouth.

“What the hell am I doing?” Evox thought, practically horrified by what he was presently doing.

“Whoa, I guess you’re right,” Lilith said, obviously surprised.

“He is really hungry” She added, conforming Keigus previous statement.

“He sure is!” He replied, releasing a hearty chuckle.

“What is this?’

“Why can’t I stop this?.... I mean, it’s not that bad” He thought as he slowly began to enjoy the warm and pleasant moment.

Just like every other baby, after a while of sucking he immediately dozed off, sinking deeply into his mother's grasp.

“The little rascal is finally asleep,” Keigus said with a proud smirk.

“Shush…. Shush…. You’ll wake him up!” Lilith exclaimed with annoyance.

“Huh… you’re way louder than me” He awkwardly remarked, softly caressing his hair.

Slowly and carefully, she placed away her scrumptious boobs, carrying the sleeping lad to his cradle, where she tucked him into his warm, soft blanket. Staring at her sleeping son, she couldn’t control her emotions as tears of joy ran down her eyes.

“He’s so cute,” She said.

“He sure is,” He cheerfully replied.

“I know what you’re going to say. We have to take him to Madam Grega” She suddenly said, ruining the calm mood.

“Yes. For a one month old demon baby to be able to talk, it’s extremely abnormal. At this age they should only be able to speak gibberish….. We have to know what’s wrong here, "he explained.

“I know,” She promptly answered, wearing a stern expression.

“We’ll pay her a visit tomorrow”

“Good”

Meanwhile,

Evox’s subconscious realm.

The entire realm was extremely dark, harshly cold and void of life apart from Evox. The only thing that served as a source of light and illumination was a dark crimson coloured sphere. From the grotesque sphere, emanated a dark and vicious ray of crimson light, alongside a wickedly menacing and spine-chilling energy surge.

The young lad incredulously stared at the sinister sight as he drifted towards the mass of energy.

“What is that?

It looks…. It feels.. so powerful and destructive

What could it be?” He said with his entire attention fixated on the sphere.

“It…. Is…. So…. Demonic!” He commented, gravely astonished by the wicked but wonderful sight.

On arrival, one could see and behold the utter power, energy and pressure that practically oozed out of it. Around it, were several random energy constructs designs, hovering aimlessly.

With heightened curiosity, Evox stretched out his tiny arms towards it, trying to ascertain what the weird phenomenon was. Immediately he came in contact with it, he received a forceful awakening, causing him to spring back to reality.

His young tender eyes were greeted by the wooden ceiling of his home. Looking left, he instantly found his parents currently having a nice chat and dinner.

“What in the world was that?” He thought, still having his mind fixated on the Sphere of Demonic energy.

Despite the fact that he was awake, his parents were completely oblivious of this development as they continued their peaceful and tranquil dinner. Also, for some unknown reason, Evox didn’t even let a single cry.

Suddenly, the lad rose up using his cradle as support. He then proceeded to crawl out of his bed, wobbling on his tiny baby feet. After a few moments of incessant trial and error, he finally got the hang of it as he slowly wobbled towards the dining table.

His sudden movement didn’t go unnoticed as he soon grabbed his parents attention.

“Keigus…. Keigus, are you seeing this?” She said, stunned by the feat Evox just pulled off. Obviously, this was another abnormal occurrence.

“No.. way!” He yelled in disbelief.

“Mama…..Dada!” He stuttered, extending his tiny hands at his shocked and overly joyful parents.

“Our little Evox..” Lilith excitedly exclaimed.

“Is he walking?” Keigus commented in shock, finishing his wife’s sentence.

Immediately, Lilith rushed towards her son, joyfully lifting the lad up into the air, “Who’s my little boy?...... You’re my little boy!” She said while wearing a cheery smile, fixing her elated gaze on Evox.

“Lilith?”

“You’re right…. Madam Grega!”

The Next Day,

Prekto Infirmary.

The Infernal Realm otherwise known as Mao, was apparently divided topographically into four separate regions; Seneris to the North, Galova to the East, Bevaūdan to the West and Mecäk to the South.

Each region comprises its various Provinces and corresponding capital, which also encompasses multiple districts and small-time villages.

Prekto was actually an extremely small village located at the far ends of the Mecäk region of Mao. Due to this intense isolation from it’s mainland’s, the Village was extremely poor and way underdeveloped,

The Infirmary, which is basically the Villages only source of healthcare, was run by the Village’s prestigious Head Chief, Madam Grega.

She was practically a very old woman, who was talented in various aspects and practices of Magic.

Just like any other old lady, Grega had absurdly long, grey yet silky hair, as well as a weak looking, slender pair of eyes which was dark green in colour. Obviously her skin was pale and wrinkled.

Madam Grega’s Study,

“Huh…” Grega blurted in confusion.

“What did you say?” She promptly regained her composure, curiously inquiring while glaring at the young couple in front of her.

Despite being absurdly old, Grega’s voice still seemed youthful and full of energy.

The couple was none other than The Delhade’s.

Hearing her question, Lilith promptly and excitedly replied, “ He talked!”, tightly hugging her little demon.

For reason, the lad was ominously quiet, as he watched the entire scene, with his stoic, little eyes. Somehow, he was able to understand every single word they said.

“And walked?” Keigus added. Unlike his excited wife, he was rather worried and unsure about the whole entire scenario.

Staring calmly at the two, Grega curiously followed up the conversation, “Are you two being serious?”.

“Or you’re just trying to mess with me” She added with a harsh tone, glaring meticulously at the young couple.

“I swear Madam Grega, My little boy actually talked and walked last night, immediately he woke up” Lilith soundly claimed.

Observing how sure and deliberate she was, Grega, still unsure about the whole situation, casually stroked her chin, and she then inquired, “ Have you named him yet?”.

“Yes… We named him Evox” Keigus replied, momentarily stuttering mid sentence.

Unlike a normal Human foetus, which only needs food and nutrients from its host mother, a Demon Foetus requires both food and nutrients from its mother, as well as a stable source of Infernal Energy.

This Energy is what gives the Foetus the ability to withstand the harsh environmental conditions of the Infernal realm.

Finally, once they’re born, Baby Demon tends to go into a month-long hibernation. In this period, they gradually and instinctively cultivate and assimilate the stored energy, thus, building a stable foundation for their energy core to blossom.

Once this is done, the baby finally awakens and then, the child is named, in respect to it’s specific gender.

“Evox aye… Nice name” Grega commented with a slight nod of approval.

“Alright… Let’s see what your little demon can do” She promptly added, fixating her utmost attention on the little lad, who stoically stared back at her.

Seeing this, she could obviously tell that this child was a bit problematic, ominous and strange.

“Okay Ma’am” Keigus responded, prompting Lilith to ease up her grip on the lad.

“Alright… Evox, would you mind talking for Mama”

Hearing this, the little Lad decided to keep shut, dearly shocking his parents. After a couple of long, excruciating minutes, nothing happened.

This new development obviously embarrassed the two young couples, as well as disappointing the slightly optimistic Grega.

“What’s wrong?” Grega wryly inquired, further mocking the couple.

“Why isn’t he talking?” Keigus confusedly inquired, staring heavily at his wife.

“How should I know?” Lilith instantly replied, glaring intensely at Keigus.

“Evox… Talk for mama”

“Please,” She nervously whispered.

Despite hearing her plea, the lad purposely chose to remain silent.

Quickly running out of patience, Grega commented, “ It seems like whatever that happened.. was all in your imagination”.

“Huh…. I guess you’re right… Lilith…. Let’s go home” Keigus disappointedly agreed, obviously embarrassed by the whole situation.

“I believe you can talk… Please Evox” Lilith dearly whispered, earnestly staring at her little boy.

Noting that his wife wasn’t about to give up, Keigus nervously tried his best to convince his wife.

“He can’t talk…”

“Ma…Ma” The Stoic lad suddenly stuttered, waving his tiny arms at Lilith.

Hearing this, both the sceptical Grega and doubtful Keigus were gravely shocked, instantly dropping their mouth, as their eyes incredulously stared at this abnormal sight.

Slowly and casually, he shifted his attention towards his appalled father and promptly proceeded, “Da...Da”.

Further thrown deep into shock, Grega confusedly blurted, “This can’t be”..

“Even if those words were purely basic… A month old Demon shouldn’t be able to talk” She thought, feeling a sharp, piercing gaze penetrate into her skin.

The ominous gaze belonged to none other than Evox Delhade. Obviously, he understood the doubtful, yet confused facial expression written all over her face.

“Grr….Gre…ga” He sinisterly stuttered, sending chills and fright, right down her old crooked spine.

“Yes… You see Madam Grega, My little Demon can talk”…

“Which brings me to the question… Why the hell can he talk at such a young age?”…

“Please Madam Grega… Is my Evox going to be alright?”

“I.. don’t.. know.. what.. to.. say” She slowly said, taking a brief pause in between her words.

Her eyes were still heavily fixated on the little demon, who stoically glared back at her.

“Huh?”

“Are you saying you don’t know what’s wrong?” Lilith commented, obviously disappointed.

“There’s something I would like to examine… I’m not sure I’d be able to deduce any significant clues… But it’s worth a try” Grega promptly replied, trying her best to maintain her composure.

“Okay” She hurriedly answered, with a slight hint of disappointment.

Hearing her response, the old lady nodded in accord, swiftly clasping her palms, while shutting her eyes.

∆ Gatum ∆

She chanted the grotesque spell, promptly opening her heavy looking eyes

Her usually dark green eyes now had a bright, mint-green colour while emitting an eerie azure glow. At the same time her eyes began to glow, Evox’s usually dark crimson eyes also went through the same odd change.

Couple of seconds after the spell was cast, Grega suddenly appeared in Evox’s subconscious plane.

The Spell she used was actually an Astral-type Magic spell, which allowed it’s caster to be able to project their consciousness onto another person’s subconscious plane.

Of course, in order to pull off such a daunting spell, the caster must be highly skilled and precise in the Mystic arts.

In the dark, cold and lifeless space, Grega aimlessly floated around, while she blankly stared at the void. Her vision was suddenly greeted by the glorious sight of an enormous sphere of Infernal energy.

Emanating from the dark crimson sphere was an immense surge of energy and dark light, which illuminated the area of space it currently occupied.

The Sphere resembled a bright sun which illuminates its corresponding solar system, serving as a source of light to all planets that revolved around it.

It was definitely the same sphere of energy Evox previously encountered during his supposed dream. However, unlike before, the Sphere was literally more larger, dense and powerful.

“What..in..the..world is going on here?”
