“Baby, you’re so bad for asking me to do it here.”

“But that’s what makes it exciting, isn’t it?”

Gavin usually ignored messages from unknown numbers telling him to check on Bella while he was working. But today was different.

Because this time, the sender included a photo. Bella was entering their room with another man.

His footsteps stopped. Behind the door, Bella’s voice rang out clearly—sweet, teasing, spoiled.

“Hurry up. Take your clothes off.”

“Damn, you’re impatient. He won’t be back until midnight anyway.”

BANG!

The bedroom door burst open as Gavin slammed it inward.

“AAAAH!!”

Inside, everything was exactly the way he imagined it.

Bella screamed in shock, panicking, half-naked as she sat on top of another man on their bed.

“Gavin!!”

Without hesitation, Gavin stepped inside.

“Gavin, stop!” Bella quickly climbed off the bed and blocked his path.

“Don’t do anything! You could hurt him!”

All this time, Gavin had sacrificed everything for Bella—working countless part-time jobs, even falling behind on his college tuition—just to make her happy.

And now, as if none of it mattered, Bella was protecting another man.

“Bella... what are you doing?”

“I-I... I...” Bella stammered.

“Why are you doing this?”

“Why?!” Bella snapped, as if suddenly realizing something before letting out a bitter smile.

“Gavin, look at yourself. I can’t believe you were naive enough to think this relationship actually had a future...”

Gavin was left completely speechless. But Bella wasn’t finished.

“You’re pathetic.”

“Baby, you shouldn’t say that...”

Until then, Gavin hadn’t cared who the man was. He only intended to beat the bastard to death. But the moment he heard that voice, Gavin immediately turned toward him.

The man finally stood up, wearing nothing but a pair of boxer briefs.

Brandon.

“Hasn’t he already worked hard enough all this time?” Brandon said casually, pretending to defend Gavin while reaching for a small bag on the table.

He pulled out a thick stack of cash and tossed it onto the floor in front of Gavin.

“I’m guessing you’d have to work like a rabid dog for a whole month to earn this much,” Brandon said with a smirk. “Think of it as compensation. Take it and get lost.”

Even though he rarely attended class, Gavin knew exactly who Brandon Balwell was.

One of the university’s richest bastards.

A man who used his father’s wealth and influence to hunt women who already had boyfriends—simply because he enjoyed it.

“B-Baby... w-wait...”

Too late. Brandon had already wrapped an arm around Bella, pulling her close before kissing her right in front of Gavin.

And Bella... She kissed him back.

“Why are you still standing there?” Brandon grinned. “Planning to watch until the end?”

Gavin stayed silent, as if his mind was still trying to process what kind of nightmare he had just walked into.

“Well, I don’t mind,” Brandon said with a crooked smile. “If anything, it’ll increase the engagement.”

Gavin frowned for a second. But when Brandon’s hand slid up and grabbed Bella’s breast, his entire body jolted.

“What the fuck are you doing, bastard?!”

PUNCH.

Brandon, trained in martial arts, dodged effortlessly. Then, in a single movement, Gavin was slammed onto the floor.

BAM!

“Tch. Weak little loser,” Brandon sneered.

Gavin tried to get back up.

CRASH!

A vase smashed against his head. Gavin instantly turned toward where it came from while blood streamed down his face.

Bella.

“Why...?” Gavin froze.

“If you dare hurt him, I’ll kill you myself,” Bella said coldly.

Gavin couldn’t believe money could turn someone into this. No matter how he looked at it, this wasn’t the Bella he knew. Or perhaps... This was the real Bella all along.

Before he could think further, Brandon walked over, crouched beside him, and whispered into his ear.

“I’m the one who told someone to send you those messages.”

Gavin’s eyes widened.

“You bastard...!”

But before he could get up—

THUD!

Brandon’s knee smashed directly into his face, sending him flat onto the ground.

“Stay down there, loser.”

Gavin’s nose was broken. The back of his head had slammed hard against the floor. And just as his consciousness began to drift away, he heard Brandon whisper one more time.

“While you’re sleep... I’m going to enjoy this girl as much as I want.”

***

“Hey... what happened to you? Your life looks like one hell of a mess.”

Gavin had no idea how he ended up there.

In fact, he didn’t even know where he was.

The moment he regained consciousness, he simply forced himself to stand and started walking aimlessly until he eventually ended up in a dead-end alley somewhere in the middle of the city.

“Oh, I know that look very well...”

At first, Gavin ignored the voice. But when someone suddenly sat down right beside him, he immediately turned his head.

An old man was smiling at him.

Judging from his clothes, Gavin was certain the man was homeless.

“Here. Drink this.”

Gavin lowered his gaze and frowned.

“Beer?”

“Yeah. Finish it. After that, problems like yours won’t bother you anymore.”

A can of beer?

What the hell could a single can of beer possibly do?

But then again... Considering his current mood, beer actually sounded perfect.

“Thanks.” Gavin accepted the can, popped it open, and immediately took a long drink.

But the moment he swallowed it, something suddenly felt wrong. “Old man... do you actually know what happened to me?”

“Something like that.”

“How?” Gavin asked again, clearly unable to believe it.

“That’s not important.” The old man shrugged. “Besides, your condition already explains everything.”

“And I’m sure right now, you hate everything. Including yourself. Don’t you?”

Gavin almost denied it. But in the end, he merely let out a bitter scoff, nodded, and took another drink.

“I think the world hates me too,” Gavin muttered.

At that moment, he truly felt like the world had never once been on his side.

“Gavin... do you know the Seven Deadly Sins?”

Even though he found it strange that the old man somehow knew his name, Gavin’s mind was too messed up to care. So he simply nodded.

“That’s all bullshit.”

Gavin frowned slightly. But since he assumed the old man was just rambling drunken nonsense, he merely snorted and finished the rest of the beer.

The old man smiled faintly before continuing. “Gavin, all those traits are born within humans naturally. So how can they be called sins?”

“But there’s one thing that turns them into sins. The only true sin... and naturally, the greatest one of all.”

“Really?” Gavin finally asked. “And what is it?”

“Stupidity.”

“Stupidity?”

“Yes. Stupidity. Humans are not born to be stupid, yet countless people trap themselves inside it. And there are many forms of stupidity in this world.”

For some reason, Gavin couldn’t help agreeing with the old man’s words.

“Gavin, you can’t blame anyone for your own shortcomings and weakness... and that girl...”

The old man paused before continuing.

“It’s only natural for women to seek men capable of conquering them.”

Gavin finally turned toward him.

“But you...” the old man continued, “you’re a man. And a real man should be thinking about conquering the world and its laws.”

Hearing that, Gavin froze slightly. He remembered how Bella had always dominated him throughout their relationship.

Meanwhile, he spent all his time desperately trying to make her happy while struggling just to survive his miserable life.

“So you’re saying I’m not a real man?”

“No. At least not right now... not yet.”

“The world never favors the stupid. Especially the weak. If you don’t want people stepping on your head, then stand above everyone else instead... do it by any means necessary.”

“Old man, I don’t—”

“Gavin. Maybe we’ll meet again. Maybe we won’t.” The old man suddenly stood up. “But I hope after this... you’ll live your life properly.”

Gavin became even more confused listening to the old man’s strange words. But just as he was about to respond, a sharp pain suddenly twisted inside his stomach.

And moments later—His vision blurred.

“Old man... what did you—”

Gavin couldn’t even finish his sentence. The pain had already spread into his head.

And just as consciousness began slipping away again, he heard the old man’s voice echoing directly inside his mind.

“Young man... become a complete human and conquer the world you hate so much. Or... give up and die as a loser. Your choice.”

The beer he drank earlier... Wasn’t ordinary beer. The liquid was reacting violently inside his stomach.

It spread through his intestines, flowing into every organ in his body. Then further Through his blood vessels. Into his nerves.

“Profit?” Gavin asked, half under his breath. “Yeah.” Caleb immediately leaned forward. “How much?” Honestly, Gavin himself didn’t really understand crypto that well. The basics weren’t hard to grasp, but he had never actually bought a single token before. He didn’t even have an exchange app. He had only heard other people talk about it. “You guys are still here?” Gavin asked when he realized Nina and the others were still standing behind him. “W-We...” Nina stammered slightly. “Just tell us already!” one of the girls behind Nina shouted. “Yeah, we wanna know too!” another added shamelessly. There was no way Gavin could escape now after starting all this. He glanced left and right. Every eye was still locked onto him. So after thinking for a few seconds, he finally answered casually. “One hundred.” Adam frowned. Dylan tilted his head slightly. Nina and almost everyone else in The Yard also seemed confused because the number was way too short. “One hundred what?” “One hu

Gavin blinked several times. “Rumors?” he muttered before looking at his three friends. “Robbery?”The three of them stayed silent, making Gavin slowly furrow his brows.“Oh, shit...” he cursed. “What the hell is wrong with you guys?”“No need to pretend you don’t understand.” Nina snorted softly before pointing at the items on the table.“Because even an idiot can tell none of that stuff is cheap.”Adam, Caleb, and Dylan immediately nodded in unison.“True.”“Yeah.”“Exactly.”Gavin stared at them in disbelief. “Shit... whose side are you guys on?”But he ignored the three of them and turned back toward Nina.“Fine. You can think whatever you want,” he said. “But who exactly are you?”Nina slightly pulled her head back, but Gavin still wasn’t done.“And why is whatever I do any of your busine—”His words suddenly stopped when his eyes landed on one of the girls standing beside Nina.“Oh...” Gavin slowly nodded. “Alright. Now I get it.”At that moment, he finally realized where the ri

CHAPTER 18 — Power RangersThe Yard was still fairly crowded that night. The sounds of student conversations, clinking utensils, soft music, and occasional bursts of laughter blended together in the air.Although students from South Block and North Tower occasionally showed up there, nothing particularly interesting had happened today, leaving most of the seats occupied by Commons residents who treated the place like their shared living room.At one of the tables in the middle of the food court, Adam leaned back in his chair while staring at Caleb and Dylan sitting across from him.“No matter what happens, we can’t just delete it.”Caleb immediately frowned.“Why not?”Adam let out a slow sigh and rubbed his face.“Because it’s not our responsibility. We only built the place. We’re not the ones who uploaded it, and we’re not the ones creating all that bullshit on there.”Dylan, who had been busy stabbing fries with his fork the whole time, finally looked up. But before he could say anyt

  • CHAPTER 17 — The Nest

Gavin walked slowly along the campus pathway with his phone pressed against his ear. Several shopping bags were still hanging from his hands, swaying lightly with each step. The night air felt colder now.“Olivia...” Gavin frowned slightly. “What exactly did you mean earlier?”Several seconds of silence passed before Olivia’s voice finally came from the other side of the call.“Gavin, if your goal is simply to start a business, then everything is fairly straightforward. We choose an industry, find a good location, and start investing.” Her voice remained calm as usual. “But if what you want to build is your own network, then that becomes a different problem.”Gavin stayed silent as he continued walking, waiting for Olivia to continue.“We need information,” Olivia finally said. “We need to know which networks are beginning to weaken, who’s fighting who, who’s losing money, and who’s becoming desperate. In Northgate, some of the people I’ve already met are willing to dig into things l

I was actually just about to contact you about—”“This isn’t a coincidence.”Sarah Ellington stopped mid-sentence.The woman slowly leaned back against her office chair, her voluptuous figure relaxing into the leather as she watched Wesley calmly pull out the chair in front of her desk and sit down without waiting for permission.“You want to talk about Gavin Valerio.”For a moment, Sarah simply stared at the dean. Then she glanced toward the monitor on her desk before slowly closing the financial report still displayed on the screen.“…Yes.” Sarah replied. “That transfer triggered an internal review.”Wesley gave a faint nod. “One million dollars.”“Yes.”Sarah slowly crossed her legs. “I assume…” she said carefully, though her tone carried an almost teasing undertone, “you already spoke to the student directly?”“I did.”“And?”Wesley fell silent for a few seconds before finally answering.“He didn’t negotiate.”“He didn’t even want to know how mu

  • CHAPTER 15 — The Wrong Way

At this point, Gavin truly had to accept that all these years, he’d been completely deceived by Bella’s pretty face and sexy body.Because if he actually paid attention to the way she talked, He never should’ve fallen in love with her in the first place.Right now, in Gavin’s eyes, Bella genuinely looked like a shameless woman who had no idea where her limits were. But this time,Gavin no longer thought the same way he used to. He refused to be humiliated simply because these two believed they could do whatever they wanted to him.The moment he saw Brandon’s condescending smile, An idea suddenly crossed Gavin’s mind.“Yo, Brandon.” Gavin smirked faintly. “Shopping today? Guess you’ve got a lot of money to throw around.”Gavin’s intuition started working again. At this point, he was convinced that no matter how arrogant Brandon was, he still wouldn’t do something reckless enough to create legal trouble over someone like him.And Gavin himself fully intended to take advantage of the ch
