Chapter 56

[10,000,000 SP Deducted. Debt Registered.]

[Deploying 'The Spear of Genesis'.]

The air in the boardroom didn't just warp; it fractured.

A rift in physical space tore open directly above the shattered smart-glass table. It looked like a jagged wound in reality, bleeding a deep, terrifying violet light. From the rift, the weapon descended.

It wasn't a gun. It didn't have a trigger or a stock. It was a six-foot-long javelin composed entirely of condensed, swirling anti-matter encased in a shifting magnetic field. It hummed with a low, bone-rattling frequency that made the hair on everyone’s arms stand on end.

Arthur stepped forward and reached out.

"Master, do not touch it!" Vera warned, taking a rare step backward, her instincts screaming that the weapon was anathema to biological life.

Arthur ignored her. He wrapped his bare hand around the magnetic shaft of the Spear.

The moment his skin made contact, a violent surge of violet energy raced up his arm, intertwining with the golden light of his Aura of the Sovereign. The pain was astronomical far worse than the Leviathan Marrow Serum but Arthur’s mind was too heavily fortified by rage to care.

He lifted the Spear. It felt completely weightless, yet it carried the gravitational pull of a dying star.

Arthur turned toward the ruined balcony.

"Nyx. Victoria. Serena," Arthur ordered, his voice echoing with an unnatural, dual-toned resonance caused by the anti-matter. "Get behind Vera."

The three women scrambled behind the white-haired assassin, who raised her arms, preparing to shield them from the impending kinetic backlash.

Arthur walked out onto the edge of the shattered marble balcony. The hurricane winds whipped his charcoal suit jacket around his frame. He looked up at the massive, pitch-black monolith crushing his city.

He didn't take a throwing stance. He simply leveled the tip of the Spear directly at the center of the alien hull.

"Hyperion!" Arthur’s voice boomed across the sky. "Clear the blast radius!"

High above, the plasma-wrapped Vanguard immediately disengaged from his futile assault on the frozen hull. He shot laterally across the stratosphere, putting ten miles of distance between himself and the ship in a single second.

Arthur locked his golden eyes on the target.

"Eviction notice," Arthur whispered.

He thrust the Spear forward.

There was no sound. The weapon didn't fire a projectile; it simply erased the space between its tip and the target. A blinding, silent beam of pure violet anti-matter instantly bridged the gap from the presidential balcony to the belly of the Harvester monolith.

When the beam made contact with the absolute-zero hull, the laws of physics shattered.

The anti-matter didn't melt the ship; it unmade it. It violently stripped the electrons from the ship’s dark-metal plating, causing a catastrophic, localized chain reaction of molecular deletion.

A massive, perfectly circular hole two miles wide instantly materialized through the center of the city-sized vessel.

The gravity beam crushing Goliath instantly severed. The Vanguard gasped, his ruined armor smoking as he collapsed face-first onto the shattered pavement, saved from absolute destruction.

In the sky, the Harvester ship shuddered. Without its central gravity drive, the massive vessel lost its buoyancy. It let out a deafening, metallic groan that sounded like a dying whale, tilting violently to the side.

Arthur stood on the balcony, watching the multi-trillion-ton alien ship begin its terminal descent into the Mediterranean Sea.

He had done it. He had broken the untouchable gods of the cosmos.

Suddenly, the world went dead silent.

The wind stopped blowing. The falling debris hovered perfectly still in mid-air. The screaming metal of the dying ship ceased. Time itself had been paused.

Arthur felt a cold, invasive pressure press against his frontal lobe. It wasn't a sound. It was a digital transmission injected directly into his consciousness.

H O S T . 4 1 0 .

The voice was vast, ancient, and completely devoid of organic emotion. It felt like staring into an endless, lightless abyss.

Y O U . A R E . F L A W E D . H A R D W A R E .

Arthur tightened his grip on the fading magnetic shaft of the Spear. He didn't bow to the pressure in his mind. He forced his own Aura of the Sovereign to push back against the psychic intrusion.

"I'm the hardware that just put a hole in your chest," Arthur replied mentally, his golden eyes blazing.

T H I S . V E S S E L . I S . I R R E L E V A N T . The ancient voice echoed, dismissing the destruction of the ship entirely. Y O U . H A V E . M O R T G A G E D . T H E . C O R E . O F . Y O U R . W O R L D . W E . D O . N O T . N E E D . T O . H A R V E S T . Y O U .

The voice took on a sickening, mocking tone of absolute supremacy.

The dying Harvester monolith crashed into the Mediterranean Sea ten miles offshore, sending a massive, three-hundred-foot tidal wave racing toward the island of San Marcos.Arthur didn't even look at the incoming tsunami. He tossed the fading, useless shaft of the Spear of Genesis aside. The magnetic casing dissolved into violet dust before it hit the marble balcony."Vera! Hyperion!" Arthur shouted. Before the tidal wave could strike the newly rebuilt capital, Hyperion shot down from the stratosphere. The plasma-wrapped Vanguard positioned himself directly between the city and the ocean. He didn't build a wall; he simply unleashed a localized burst of thermal radiation. The three-hundred-foot wall of seawater slammed into the thermal barrier and instantly flash-boiled into steam. He folded his silver-armored arms across his chest and plummeted directly toward the pitch-black surface of the alien ship.As he fell, Hyperion channeled the raw thermal energy of the upper atmosphere, turning himself into a localized, artificial sun. The heat radiating off his body spiked to ten thousand degrees. He slammed into the top of the Harvester vessel. The impact should have melted the alien hull instantly. Instead, a shockwave of blinding white steam erupted across the sky. The alien monolith wasn’t just armored; its hull was maintained at absolute zero. It was a lightless, frozen void where human ambition went to die.Arthur Vance wasn’t human anymore. He stood on the bridge of the Abyssal Leviathan, a deep-sea exploration vessel he had purchased from the Level 5 System Store for an effortless half-million SP. The ship was constructed from self-repairing dark matter and propelled by a frictionless gravity drive. It descended through the pitch-black water at terrifying speeds.Ares stood like a monolith at the back of the bridge, his red optics cutting through the dim cabin lighting. Nemesis hovered near the navigation console, her shadow-wrapped form completely unbothered by the crushing depths outside the viewport. Vera stood directly beside Arthur, her hand resting on her combat blade out of pure habit."Depth: thirty-five thousand feet," the ship’s automated AI reported in a smooth, synthetic voic
