"Miss, isn't that inappropriate?" Another voice came from under a thick, shady redtop tree. The voice was very familiar to Hua Fei and Jing Yunxi. "You'd better go home now!"

"It's none of your business, where I want to go!" Jing Yunxi replied in an indifferent tone to a boy who was standing leaning against the tree trunk. "Heh! What are you doing here?"

The young man who had just arrived seemed very indifferent to this little girl. If you look at the attitude of both of them, they don't seem to like each other. However, the female bodyguards who came with Jing Yunxi still saluted the boy.

"Shouldn't I be the one asking you, what are you doing here?" It seemed like the kid had been there for quite some time. However, he seemed reluctant to approach Jing Yunxi. "A girl looking for a boy. Isn't that very inappropriate?"

Jing Yunxi, who was starting to feel very angry, finally shouted, "Shut up!"

"Huh, just good at bluffing!" The young man dressed in a blue and white hanfu immediately approached Hua Fei. As he passed by Jing Yunxi, he accidentally bumped his shoulder into her arm as he shouted, “Move!”

Jing Yunxi staggered backwards slightly and was immediately caught by her guards. One of them shouted, "Young Master Hua! Please don't create any new commotion with our lady!"

"Who wants to make a fuss with you guys? I'm just picking up my nephew who has been abused by your arrogant young master!" The boy called Young Master Hua replied, "Since you guys came here, it seems like there's nothing good you can do. Apart from making a fuss and making fun of our Ah Ling!"

"But, I was also the one who saved them!" Jing Yunxi shouted in disapproval. The girl felt angry at the attitude of the boy who had just arrived.

"Don't forget, my nephews didn't ask you to save him! In fact, your arrival has caused another loss!" The boy in the blue hanfu said in an angry tone.

"You! You ignorant child!" Jing Yunxi shouted in a loud voice. "Watch out, okay?"

"Miss!" One of the female guards grabbed Jing Yunxi's hand and raised her fist and intended to hit the child who had just arrived.

"Never mind! You don't have to keep fighting!" Hua Fei said while holding his painful chest. "Little Uncle, please be patient!"

Jing Yunxi pointed at the child in blue. “He came first, Brother Fei!”

"They really can never be at peace for once." Hua Fei complained inwardly.

“Ah Fei, don’t serve that kid!” said the boy in blue. "We're going home now!"

"Master Hua and Little Miss, there shouldn't be fighting in a situation like this. Look! Young Master Hua Fei is already so exhausted." One of the female bodyguards warned. "We'd better all go back soon!"

"Without being told, I will come back with it!" The boy immediately grabbed Hua Fei's hand and immediately put his body together by embracing his little nephew's body. "Ah Fei, let's go home!"

"Mmhh." Hua Fei nodded his head. "Okay, Little Uncle!"

"Yunxi, thank you for your help!" Hua Fei said in a low voice.

"You're welcome, Brother Fei!" Jing Yunxi responded to Hua Fei's thanks.

"Thank you for what?" The child who was called little uncle looked unhappy. "for the snakes they killed?"

"Hua Liiiiin!" Jing Yunxi shouted while pointing at the boy named Hua Lin.

"Never mind, let's go back!" Hua Fei immediately intervened. Because I didn't want to stay in that place for too long.

"Little Uncle, I need your help this time." Hua Fei said to Hua Lin who was the same age as him.

"Okay, but I don't want that sassy lady around you!" The boy who Hua Fei called little uncle seemed to dislike Jing Yunxi very much. He still stood where he was without wanting to move his body at all.

"Who do you call coquettish?" Jing Yunxi stopped her feet angrily.

Hua Lin replied in a scathing tone. "Who else? If not a wild butterfly who feels liked by many people?"

"You!" Jing Yunxi snapped with extreme anger. Her face was bright red and his hands immediately clenched into fists to hit the boy in the blue shirt who looked like she really didn't like it.

"Little Miss, hold on!" A gentle-looking female bodyguard immediately intervened. "Miss, we'd better go back soon. The old master must be waiting for Miss!"

“I ….” Jing Yunxi was annoyed.

"Miss, don't cause any more trouble!" The gentle-faced female bodyguard whispered," replied one of the guards from the Jing Family.

"Okay!" Jing Yunxi glanced sharply with extreme annoyance. However, at this time the girl could only hold back the anger in her chest. She also didn't want to look too bad in Hua Fei's eyes.

"Young Masters, if you want to go back now, please do!" The Jing Family female bodyguard invited the two young masters of the Hua Family to go home.

"Good!" It was Hua Lin who replied, "Thank you, Auntie!"

Hua Fei turned to Jing Yunxi who now had a sour and annoyed face. The boy spoke in a low voice due to his weak body condition. "Miss, please come back. Let me go home with my Little Uncle."

Jing Yunxi could only nod her head at Hua Fei, even though her heart was extremely furious. The little girl with the tiny face didn't know what had made the narrow-eyed boy with two dimples adorning his cheeks hate her so much. The two of them passed by Jing Yunxi and her female guards without looking back.

"And you, Ugly Girl! Don't you ever get close to Ah Fei!" The young man who was called little uncle by Hua Fei helped his nephew leave the place.

"Little Uncle, never mind." Hua Fei whispered as he stepped out with his little uncle.

"Humph! You bully!" Jing Yunxi moved away from the two boys feeling very unhappy. Her plan to approach Hua Fei to attract the heart of the boy she adores has failed.

At Jing Yue's residence.

A group of people wearing Jing Family bodyguard uniforms were seen walking very hastily carrying the body of a boy who had fainted.

Of course, this caused commotion and panic among all the residents of the Hua Family residence. The bodyguards and guards immediately screamed hysterically when they saw clearly who the child was being carried by a tall male bodyguard.

"Young Master Jing Ling?" asked the doorman of the residence with wide eyes.

"That's right. You brought Young Master Jing. Now let us in!" Body bearer Jing Ling replied.

"Okay, go ahead!" The guard at the gate of the residence immediately gave way to the group, whom they already knew.

Their arrival was immediately greeted by female servants who happened to be in the courtyard of the residence.

"Young master Ling? He …." The servant lady's eyes widened.

"Yes, young master fainted," answered one of the guards from the Jing Family.

"Idiot!" While cursing, Hua Lin landed a slap as swift as a flying arrow, hitting Hua Feng's temple squarely. "Aaah!" Hua Feng screamed so loudly that a few people turned to look at him. Hua Lin didn't care about the gazes of those around them. He continued scolding Hua Feng. "Of course it's not a talisman, it's something to ward off the danger of starvation!" 'Why did I have to meet someone as stupid as him?' Hua Lin felt unlucky in this regard. Hua Feng had no chance to dodge. The slap wasn’t that hard, but it was strong enough to make his body stagger sideways, nearly losing his balance. 'Ward off the danger of starvation? Isn't that just food?' Hua Feng began to understand what his senior meant. Hua Feng rubbed his temple, which had grown a little warm. He groaned in annoyance. "Young Master, you're torturing me again!" "Young Master is always like this. I was just asking a question, but instead, Young Master oppressed me." Hua Feng’s expression turned sad, his lips poutin

"Then I’ll push him to agree!" Mu Lei suddenly declared firmly. Mu Lei was an outsider who had once been saved by Hua Yan during the bloody tragedy of the Mu Tribe five years ago, when a rebellion broke out between the "dirty clothes" and "clean clothes" factions within the tribe, nearly costing him his life to be beheaded. However, it seemed the gods had sent Hua Yan just when his life was hanging by a thread. He narrowly escaped death at the sword of Mu Yan, the Mu Tribe’s traitor, all thanks to Hua Yan’s help. Since that day, he vowed to dedicate his life to repaying the man who had saved him. Even though Hua Yan had long since freed him and never brought it up again, Mu Lei stubbornly insisted on serving as Hua Yan’s guardian, as well as his family’s. "Very well. We’ll see," said Elder Hua Lei this time. Everyone could only hope that Hua Yan wouldn’t mind the security preparations they had made this time. Meanwhile, over at Hua Lin’s courtyard, the young man looked extremely

  • 69. Secret Arrangement

Hua Yan and Jing Yue stopped their activity, exchanging complex glances tinged with slight disappointment. Both of them steadied their breathing and tried to calm themselves. “Mother, don’t you want to say something to me before I leave?” Jing Ling’s voice startled both his parents. “That naughty boy again!” Hua Yan was slightly annoyed by the shout from behind the door. He let out a small huff, then reluctantly released his embrace. Jing Yue only gave a faint smile at the disappointment on her husband's face, then replied, “Just a moment, Ah Ling. I’m preparing everything your father needs.” Outside the door, Jing Ling furrowed his brows with a slight question in his heart. What exactly were his parents doing in there on a hot midday like this? However, he didn’t want to think too deeply about it. In the end, the young man said, “Alright, Mother. I’m sorry if I disturbed you and Father. I’ll wait outside!” “Very well,” replied Jing Yue from inside the room. Jing Ling’s footste

Hua Lin busied himself loading dried food and snacks into his bag. The sweet aroma of honey and the sharp tang of spices filled his nose, bringing a comforting sensation amid the chaos of preparation. He added one more bottle of honey before pausing, eyeing the bulging pouch. “Ah, this might be too heavy,” Hua Lin thought as he scratched his head. There was a sense of reluctance in reducing even a few items. His eyes kept drifting toward the pile of his favorite snacks, making it hard to part with any of them. But… what if they laugh at me later? he murmured inwardly, before finally lifting the entire load with a satisfied smile. But if I cut down my supplies, I’d regret it. Hua Lin scratched his head again despite it not itching. What now? What if they make fun of me? Ah, whatever. What’s the point of worrying about that? Better safe than sorry, Hua Lin thought as he hoisted his belongings. Besides, we’ll be riding in a carriage. What’s there to worry about? Alright then. Won’t

Meanwhile, Jing Ling began preparing everything needed for supplies during the journey. One of his caretakers was also involved in the flurry of activity. In the corner of the room, Su Ruo, Jing Ling’s loyal caretaker, was folding clothes with utmost care. Her delicate fingers trembled slightly, as if each piece of fabric carried a weight of emotion. “Young Master.” Su Ruo’s voice sounded hoarse, with a bitterness she could not conceal. “This time, you’ll be going to a place that is unfamiliar and far away. Auntie hopes you’ll be careful and not reckless.” “Hmm.” Jing Ling only responded with a soft grunt while wrapping his new spear in a red cloth. He glanced at Su Ruo with an indifferent look. Su Ruo continued in a softer tone, almost a whisper, “You must also follow Master’s advice. Don’t trouble him during the journey.” With a calm demeanor, Jing Ling replied, “Auntie Ruo, don’t worry. I’m grown up and I know what I have to do.” Su Ruo sighed and returned to her task. “Aunti

Her eyes, blurring Jing Yunxi’s vision. She could only wipe them away silently in a voiceless cry. Her tears fell and shattered like her hope to meet Hua Fei, the one she adored. ‘This sorrow feels like an endless nightmare in the dark of night. This longing is more bitter than bile. Yet the wall between us is so strong and arrogant.’ Jing Yunxi wept quietly in her heart as she walked under the cruel gaze of Jing Yue behind her back. Meanwhile, behind another wall, Hua Fei stood tall like a frozen statue. There was a trace of disappointment on his handsome face, along with helplessness. In the end, he could only lower his head in sadness. Beside Hua Fei, a man in a blue robe gently patted his shoulder. “There are things more important than a woman, and you must be able to choose between them.” “Ah Fei understands, Uncle.” Hua Fei gave a faint, bitter smile. “Prepare to leave,” Hua Yan said as he walked away. “Yes, Uncle.” Hua Fei responded with a respectful bow even though his u
