"Young Master Hua, if we don't kill those dangerous beasts, then we will be the ones they attack." Jing Yunxi's personal bodyguard said as she put away the snake corpses.

"Did you see them attacking you? They can't even move like before we caught them. Because we have paralyzed them." Hua Fei spoke while moving slowly to collect the corpses of the snakes. "Even though they are dead, I still have to take them all!"

"Even though the dead snake might not be included in the assessment, I hope Jiang Lao is willing to give us another chance," said Hua Fei with teary eyes.

"How is this? Will we not be able to pass to the next stage?"

It took them six months to enter the advanced examination of the poison class in the Cloud Valley Sect. Even though he and Jing Ling were future sect leaders, they both had to continue studying according to the sect regulations that had been implemented. Moreover, they were personal disciples of the sect master Hua Yan.

"Brother Fei, sorry! We didn't know how much they meant to you two." Jing Yunxi said in a low voice filled with regret. "If only we knew that they were already crippled, maybe we wouldn't have killed them all. Brother Fei… sorry!"

"Never mind, the rice has become porridge. I also understand your fears," said Hua Fei calmly. The look on his face did not show the slightest resentment or hatred.

This made Jing Yunxi feel even deeper sympathy for this boy. The girl then gave orders to her guards. "You guys, please help him!"

"Yes, Miss!" The female guards quickly collected Hua Fei's snake carcasses.

In fact, he felt guilty about that incident. Moreover, Hua Fei looked so sad that tears were streaming down her cheeks. "Brother Fei, forgive us!"

The little girl then approached Hua Fei who still looked weak. However, the boy was determined to continue collecting snake carcasses and put them back into his bamboo basket. "Brother, is Brother Fei angry with me?"

Hua Fei shook her head with a languid movement. "Never mind, this has happened. Hopefully we won't get punished for this incident."

Hua Fei is a boy with a heart as soft as silk. He has a pure nature, clean like dew that falls directly from the sky. The child's eyes and attitude are also very soothing to anyone's heart, combined with words full of politeness without daring to act fraudulently or unfairly. He was like a shining jewel among black metal. The mind of the prospective healer was not easily tainted by incitement and revenge.

That is also what made Jing Cheng choose him to be his future son-in-law. Moreover, her daughter Jing Yunxi had indeed set her heart on this little genius man with intelligence that was quite outstanding among the students of Xiwang Xueyuan Academy.

After all the carcasses of the black and red striped snakes had been cleaned up, Hua Fei chose to rest for a while. The boy touched the inside of his hanfu to reach for something. Apparently, Hua Fei always carried a supply of medicines that he made herself. He looked relieved, because the objects were not destroyed due to the actions of Jing Yanxi's men.

Jing Yunxi sat opposite the boy, she had admired for a long time. The beautiful girl, the only daughter of Jing Cheng and Wen Yan, kept looking at Hua Fei with eyes that always sparkled like the morning stars in the night sky.

"Good thing, they're still intact," Hua Fei muttered to herself.

"I'm going to recuperate here for a moment. You can all come back soon," said Hua Fei, who didn't like to bother other people.

"That's right, you all can go back! Let me accompany Brother Feii here!" Jing Yunxi said as she looked at her six female bodyguards who were just staring at each other in silence. Of course they all knew what this little girl meant.

“Brother Fei, what pill is that?” Jing Yunxi, who had been paying attention to Hua Fei's movements, dared to ask.

"This?" Hua Fei immediately put three pills into her mouth at once. "This is what is called a youthful pill and its purpose is to increase your aura of good looks."

"Youth pill?" Jing Yunxi muttered thoughtfully.

Hua Fei said the eternal youth pill only meant it as a joke. Of course, the pills he took were recovery and energy enhancing pills which contained many benefits for healing various kinds of injuries.

However, it seemed like Jing Yunxi believed this young candidate's words too much. The girl's face actually looked like she didn't like Hua Fei's words. How come? He was imagining things that made him feel jealous.

"Huh! If Brother Fei becomes more handsome, he will definitely be chased by many girls in his class. Moreover, the medicine class has lots of girls from famous physicians from all corners of the empire!" Jing Yunxi said to herself as she turned her face to another direction. How his heart was really filled with feelings of jealousy that made him think differently. "It's best if I move to a medical class, so I can always monitor them!"

"It's finished!" One of the female bodyguards who was helping Hua Fei exclaimed.

"Good! Now, it's best to go back immediately," said Hua Fei as he put the medicine container back into the hidden pocket in the innermost layer of her hanfu.

"Sorry, Young Master Hua. We really don't understand, why did you and Young Master Hua Ling catch so many snakes of this kind? Is it for keeping?" asked one of the female guards.

Hua Ling is the name for Jing Ling who is known as the young master of the Cloud Valley Sect and is the son of Hua Yan.

"This is a requirement from our teacher, in order to enter the next stage in the poison class. Maybe, we are still not destined to be able to advance this year." Hua Fei answered as he stood up after tidying up all his belongings. "Never mind, let's go back!"

Hua Fei then stood before his helpers and performed a gongshou greeting. "Thank you for the help of Miss Yunxi and all of you. Hua Fei will always remember it and hope to repay it in the future!"

"Brother Fei! What are you talking about?" asked Jing Yunxi who felt that Hua Fei was too much. "I should have done that. My gege really likes making noise and chaos!"

"However, if Little Sister Yunxi hadn't arrived on time, perhaps by now, Little Brother Ling and I would have been in another world."

The nineteen year old boy said while walking slowly.

"Brother Fei, can I bring the basket?" Jing Yunxi, feeling guilty, offered to carry her future husband's luggage.

"Eehh... sorry, Little Sister Yunxi. I don't want to bother you. Besides, this basket is very heavy. Let me carry it." Of course Hua Fei would refuse this girl's request.

"Brother Fei, come on! Let me help you!" Jing Yunxi whined.

"Miss, isn't that inappropriate?" Another voice was heard from under a thick, shady redtop tree.

"Inappropriate? What's inappropriate?"

"Idiot!" While cursing, Hua Lin landed a slap as swift as a flying arrow, hitting Hua Feng's temple squarely. "Aaah!" Hua Feng screamed so loudly that a few people turned to look at him. Hua Lin didn't care about the gazes of those around them. He continued scolding Hua Feng. "Of course it's not a talisman, it's something to ward off the danger of starvation!" 'Why did I have to meet someone as stupid as him?' Hua Lin felt unlucky in this regard. Hua Feng had no chance to dodge. The slap wasn’t that hard, but it was strong enough to make his body stagger sideways, nearly losing his balance. 'Ward off the danger of starvation? Isn't that just food?' Hua Feng began to understand what his senior meant. Hua Feng rubbed his temple, which had grown a little warm. He groaned in annoyance. "Young Master, you're torturing me again!" "Young Master is always like this. I was just asking a question, but instead, Young Master oppressed me." Hua Feng’s expression turned sad, his lips poutin

"Then I’ll push him to agree!" Mu Lei suddenly declared firmly. Mu Lei was an outsider who had once been saved by Hua Yan during the bloody tragedy of the Mu Tribe five years ago, when a rebellion broke out between the "dirty clothes" and "clean clothes" factions within the tribe, nearly costing him his life to be beheaded. However, it seemed the gods had sent Hua Yan just when his life was hanging by a thread. He narrowly escaped death at the sword of Mu Yan, the Mu Tribe’s traitor, all thanks to Hua Yan’s help. Since that day, he vowed to dedicate his life to repaying the man who had saved him. Even though Hua Yan had long since freed him and never brought it up again, Mu Lei stubbornly insisted on serving as Hua Yan’s guardian, as well as his family’s. "Very well. We’ll see," said Elder Hua Lei this time. Everyone could only hope that Hua Yan wouldn’t mind the security preparations they had made this time. Meanwhile, over at Hua Lin’s courtyard, the young man looked extremely

Hua Yan and Jing Yue stopped their activity, exchanging complex glances tinged with slight disappointment. Both of them steadied their breathing and tried to calm themselves. “Mother, don’t you want to say something to me before I leave?” Jing Ling’s voice startled both his parents. “That naughty boy again!” Hua Yan was slightly annoyed by the shout from behind the door. He let out a small huff, then reluctantly released his embrace. Jing Yue only gave a faint smile at the disappointment on her husband's face, then replied, “Just a moment, Ah Ling. I’m preparing everything your father needs.” Outside the door, Jing Ling furrowed his brows with a slight question in his heart. What exactly were his parents doing in there on a hot midday like this? However, he didn’t want to think too deeply about it. In the end, the young man said, “Alright, Mother. I’m sorry if I disturbed you and Father. I’ll wait outside!” “Very well,” replied Jing Yue from inside the room. Jing Ling’s footste

Hua Lin busied himself loading dried food and snacks into his bag. The sweet aroma of honey and the sharp tang of spices filled his nose, bringing a comforting sensation amid the chaos of preparation. He added one more bottle of honey before pausing, eyeing the bulging pouch. “Ah, this might be too heavy,” Hua Lin thought as he scratched his head. There was a sense of reluctance in reducing even a few items. His eyes kept drifting toward the pile of his favorite snacks, making it hard to part with any of them. But… what if they laugh at me later? he murmured inwardly, before finally lifting the entire load with a satisfied smile. But if I cut down my supplies, I’d regret it. Hua Lin scratched his head again despite it not itching. What now? What if they make fun of me? Ah, whatever. What’s the point of worrying about that? Better safe than sorry, Hua Lin thought as he hoisted his belongings. Besides, we’ll be riding in a carriage. What’s there to worry about? Alright then. Won’t

Meanwhile, Jing Ling began preparing everything needed for supplies during the journey. One of his caretakers was also involved in the flurry of activity. In the corner of the room, Su Ruo, Jing Ling’s loyal caretaker, was folding clothes with utmost care. Her delicate fingers trembled slightly, as if each piece of fabric carried a weight of emotion. “Young Master.” Su Ruo’s voice sounded hoarse, with a bitterness she could not conceal. “This time, you’ll be going to a place that is unfamiliar and far away. Auntie hopes you’ll be careful and not reckless.” “Hmm.” Jing Ling only responded with a soft grunt while wrapping his new spear in a red cloth. He glanced at Su Ruo with an indifferent look. Su Ruo continued in a softer tone, almost a whisper, “You must also follow Master’s advice. Don’t trouble him during the journey.” With a calm demeanor, Jing Ling replied, “Auntie Ruo, don’t worry. I’m grown up and I know what I have to do.” Su Ruo sighed and returned to her task. “Aunti

Her eyes, blurring Jing Yunxi’s vision. She could only wipe them away silently in a voiceless cry. Her tears fell and shattered like her hope to meet Hua Fei, the one she adored. ‘This sorrow feels like an endless nightmare in the dark of night. This longing is more bitter than bile. Yet the wall between us is so strong and arrogant.’ Jing Yunxi wept quietly in her heart as she walked under the cruel gaze of Jing Yue behind her back. Meanwhile, behind another wall, Hua Fei stood tall like a frozen statue. There was a trace of disappointment on his handsome face, along with helplessness. In the end, he could only lower his head in sadness. Beside Hua Fei, a man in a blue robe gently patted his shoulder. “There are things more important than a woman, and you must be able to choose between them.” “Ah Fei understands, Uncle.” Hua Fei gave a faint, bitter smile. “Prepare to leave,” Hua Yan said as he walked away. “Yes, Uncle.” Hua Fei responded with a respectful bow even though his u
