“No, I genuinely had no idea that it was your restaurant. If I had known, I wouldn’t have gotten into a fight there. Besides, he was bullying people too much, and I just wanted to stand up for justice!”

After a moment of shock, Benjamin finally began to explain himself. However, Isabella seemed as if she didn’t hear him at all. She stared at him with a highly disdainful look.

“Do you... do you think I’m that despicable? That I would damage your restaurant’s reputation to get revenge on you?”

Feeling frustrated and unable to explain, Benjamin angrily stormed out of the car. But at that moment, Isabella suddenly spoke up.

“Where are you going?”

“If you don’t believe me, why do you want me to drive you home?”

As he spoke, Benjamin opened the door to get out.

“Suit yourself, but if you dare leave, I’ll go to the hospital to visit your sister.”

This time, Benjamin’s movement faltered.

“What do you plan to do?”

“I won’t do anything. I’ll tell your sister and father about the fight and how you ended up at the police station.”

“You...”

In the end, Benjamin found himself unable to outwit Isabella. Reluctantly, he got back into the car and glanced at her.

“Hand me the keys.”

Tossing the keys to Benjamin, Isabella’s expression suddenly soured. She then bent down slightly, rubbing her swollen ankle.

From the rearview mirror, Benjamin could see Isabella’s furrowed brows. He turned his head to see her ankle swelling significantly. For a moment, his anger subsided.

But he remained silent, focusing on driving. The car stopped at the entrance, and Isabella attempted to open the door herself. But Benjamin, having already gotten out, opened the door for her.

He then leaned down and scooped her up into his arms.

“What are you doing? Let me go!”

Thinking that Benjamin was up to no good, Isabella panicked and screamed. But Benjamin didn’t respond, gently closing the car door with his foot. He then carried her straight into the living room and set her down on the sofa.

Still unsure of Benjamin’s intentions, Isabella watched him bend down and remove her high heels. He then lightly touched her ankle and asked in a warm tone: “Does it hurt a lot?”

It was only then that Isabella paid close attention to Benjamin’s tender actions, feeling a hint of gratitude in her heart. However, his following words quickly extinguished any feelings of warmth.

“With your ankle swollen like this, if you keep acting so aggressive, I’ll cut it off and cook it in a pork bone soup. I’ve heard that women’s ankles make a delicious broth!”

“You...”

Glaring at Benjamin, Isabella was genuinely furious. But his threatening words were somewhat terrifying, causing her to worry. As a result, despite her anger, she turned her head away, not wanting to engage with someone like Benjamin any longer.

At this moment, Benjamin had gone to fetch the medicine box. He carefully removed a bottle of medicinal alcohol from inside and poured it over Isabella’s wound. The Taylor family’s medicinal alcohol indeed had significant effects. In a short while, the pain in Isabella’s ankle significantly decreased, and the swelling began to subside.

“All done!”

After locking the medicine box, Benjamin planned to put it away. However, as he turned around, a corner of red pair of underwear suddenly appeared before his eyes, making his eyes widen in surprise. Immediately, he felt his throat become thirsty and hot. He barely managed to swallow his saliva.

Meanwhile, after being massaged for a while, Isabella sensed that the atmosphere was somewhat peculiar. Her gaze fell upon Benjamin, who was sneakily glancing at the bottom of his pants, where there was a noticeable bulge. Instantly, her face flushed red with anger, and she forcefully kicked Benjamin, accompanied by a thunderous shout.

“You pervert! Get out of here!”

Struck by Isabella, Benjamin regained his senses. Although he didn’t do it on purpose, he couldn’t find a way to explain himself. So, Benjamin left in annoyance, carrying the medicine box with him, while Isabella, equally upset, returned to her room.

In the evening, while going downstairs for dinner, Benjamin noticed Isabella’s odd gait and again looked at her ankle. The swelling had reduced but was still somewhat red.

After dinner, Benjamin take the medicinal alcohol, intending to apply it to Isabella’s wound to speed up her recovery.

However, as he passed by Isabella’s room, Benjamin accidentally overheard Kinsley talking to her sister.

“Sis, why didn’t you marry Winston before and instead marry that useless Benjamin? You don’t know how disgust I feel whenever I see him in the house. What kind of man relies on women to survive? You should kick him out!”

Hearing Kinsley’s words, Benjamin, standing outside the door, couldn’t help but frown. Then, he heard Isabella’s response.

“You don’t understand. Winston had a great opportunity to go abroad and develop his career. If he had given that up because of me, I would have regretted it my whole life.”

“So, you mean you married Benjamin because you wanted what was best for Winston?”

“Yes, our marriage is just a sham. I have absolutely no feelings for him.”

Hearing Isabella’s answer, Kinsley’s face instantly showed great excitement.

“That’s fantastic! Now that Winston is back in the country, you still have a chance to be with him if you divorce Benjamin. So, this time, you must seize your opportunity and not waste precious time like before, understand?!”

Standing outside the door, overhearing the conversation between the Taylor sisters, Benjamin’s expression couldn’t help but turn somber. Although he had considered the idea of divorce, he didn’t want to divorce Isabella. This was trampling on his dignity, the dignity of a man.

Thus, in his anger, Benjamin didn’t want to hear the rest of the conversation in the room. He threw the bottle of medicinal liquor directly into the trash can. Then, he returned to his bedroom with no intention of continuing to treat Isabella’s injuries.

The following day, Benjamin went to work as usual. He pretended not to have heard the conversation between the Taylor sisters the previous night and did his everyday work.

At this point, Olivia saw Benjamin arriving, and her calm face quickly revealed a sweet smile.

“Thank you for your help yesterday. If it weren’t for you, I don’t know how I would have handled that situation.”

Seeing the owner’s happy demeanor towards a new employee like Benjamin, many employees in the restaurant felt highly envious. But Benjamin remained calm, offering a polite smile in response.

“It wasn’t a big deal. Anyway, anyone in that situation would have acted similarly to what I did.”

Although Benjamin’s words sounded gentle, Olivia didn’t take them lightly. After a brief conversation, her expression turned serious. She hesitated for a moment before asking shyly: “Benjamin, tell me the truth: are you and CEO Isabella husband and wife?”

Not knowing why Olivia suddenly asked such a question, Benjamin still decisively nodded and replied: “This is true. If you don’t believe me, you can call my wife directly.”

Hearing Benjamin’s affirmative answer, Olivia’s expression turned somewhat strange.

“If you and the CEO are truly married, why does she mistreat you?”

This time, Benjamin frowned.

“What do you mean?”

“This morning, I received a call from the CEO. She wants to transfer you to a driver’s position and not continue working as a security guard at my restaurant.”

Upon hearing Olivia’s revelation, Benjamin’s face darkened slightly. But then, he calmly smiled and said: “It’s not a problem. If she doesn’t want me to work here, I can move on to a new job. It’s no big deal.”

Although Benjamin seemed to take it lightly, Olivia couldn’t help but express her discontent.

“But the driver’s job pays much less than your current security job. Moreover, the customers there are often drunk, and if there are disputes or fights, you won’t be able to resist. I don’t understand why, as husband and wife, the CEO treat you like an enemy.”

This time, the smile on Benjamin’s face disappeared instantly. However, after some thought, he still managed a smile and said: “It’s alright. If she wants me to do that, I’ll comply with her request. As for my time here, please allow me to say goodbye to everyone on my behalf. If fate permits, we will meet again in the future.”

With that said Benjamin didn’t linger at the restaurant any longer. He went directly to the new workplace, following Olivia’s address.
