Chapter 11

Meanwhile, Aiden's magical and bizarre display caused an intensed commotion at the wedding hall.

No one knew what he did and none of the people believed that he was capable of presenting any wedding gift to the Smith family.

“Aiden, what are you doing?”

Even Jade was confused and her face instantly twitched in frown. However, she remained silent while trying so hard not to worsen the situation for Aiden. Although, she knew that it was nigh impossible for Aiden to win Jackson in the challenge, she had hoped that miracle would happen so that she wouldn't leave him to marry Jackson. Nonetheless, she never expected Aiden to turn to using such a crazy tactics as defense mechanism to shield himself from being defeated by Jackson.

Since things has come to this point, she could only help him by not siding with others to insult or humiliate him. Thus, she forced some smiles on her face and collected the black jadeite stone from him and said, “Thank you, Aiden.”

“Wh - What?! What the hell are you doing, Jade?! Why did you collect that useless piece of stone from him as your betrothal gifts and why are you telling him ‘thank you’?!”

Just then, Lily yelled at the top of her voice in chastisement to Jade for accepting Aiden's gift.

With frustration which was wittingly etched on her face, she turned to her grandmother, Mrs Smith Senior and said very pleadingly, “Grandma, could you please tell Jade to stop disgracing our family by staying with this crazy Aiden. Look at how she had been reduced to uselessness and without a brain simply because she had been with for five years. If she is not corrected or stopped by you now, it would be nigh impossible for her not to lead our family into sudden ruins and an awful end.”

“Mhm,” Mrs Smith Senior wore an inexpensive look on her face and said, “Relax Lily. There is no way Jade won't trash him and get married to Jackson. After all, Aiden has entered into bet with Jackson and he can't win even if he is given the entire time in the whole world to send betrothal gifts to our family on Jade's sake. He will surely loss the challenge to Jackson but for now, let's allow him to expose his foolishness so that Jade would definitely get ridiculed as she wanted. Let's watch and see how heavy and disgusting his failure would be and how disappointed Jade would be when she realizes that her crazy Aiden can't win the challenge against Jackson.”

Even most of the wedding honored guests chit-chatted amongst themselves while making jest of Aiden's bizarre display.

“This crazy Brat is quite unbelievable! So, he thinks that he is going to win Mr Foley junior with this stupid tricks of his? Huh?!”

“Have you forgotten that he is mentally sick and useless? How could you expect an insane Brat like him to do better than he’d just done? See, you should only blame the daft Miss Jade who refused to listen to her parents’ advise and trash him away!”

“Mhm. You are very right. Miss Jade is also stupid and foolish for not seeing through his unimaginable tactics and behaviors.”

“Jade is even more useless than her crazy husband, Aiden. How could she believe him when he told her that this useless and unimpressive ordinary black stone will put the entire world under her foot?! Since she believed him and accepted that insignificant stone from him, she should as well try to exercise her controlling power over me so that I will show her where her type belonged to! To hell with her for all I care!” One of the guests who was also Jackson’s closest friends voiced out his displeasure towards Jade's stubbornness.

Meanwhile, Aiden turned to Jade's grandmother, Lady Elizabeth Smith after handing over the black jadeite stone to Jade and said, “Mrs Smith Senior, I have ordered the Garners to send in my betrothal gifts to your household. So, just wait, in four minutes time from now, my bethrotal gifts will be here. When that time come, you will know that I am the only person who is capable and qualified to marry Jade and make the Smiths prosper in wealth, power and glory!”

Hearing this, the crowd was once again thrown into uproar.

“What?!”

“That's it!”

“What the hell is this fool insinuating? How can he say that he has ordered the Garners to send his bethrotal gifts to the Smiths?!”

“He must have thought that we are stupid not to see through manipulative tricks!”

“A loser and crazy idiot like dared tried to manipulate people with the Garners’ name and prestige. He’s doom for all I know!”

“Tsk! Tsk!”

“Haha!”

Jackson burst into a peal of laughter and then said afterward, “Rubbish! Is this how you plan to win me? By putting up this pretentious and useless act of yours? Who the hell do you think you are and what do you take all these people for? Do you take us for fools or what exactly?!

“How dare you tried to manipulate us with the Garners' prestige? Do you know who the Garners are? Let me tell you this-my father worked very hard with every breath within him before he was able to get acquainted with the Garners but here you are, ridiculing the most revered family in Vietnam City. I promise you this, you are going to regret ever playing expensive tricks on people with the prestige of the Garners.”

While Jade was still holding and examining the black jadeite stone given to her by Aiden, Jackson quickly dashed to her in a flash and snatched the antique from her.

Holding the round black stone that was just the size of his fist, he said with contemptuous voice, “So, this is the useless stone which you dared tried to use and manipulate us. It's this insignificant stone that you claimed that it would put the world under Jade's feet and control should she possess it. In your insane and stupid mind, you think that I will believe you, huh?!”

Aiden glared at him and said with an icy voice, “Return it to Jade now or you …!”

“Or what?!” Jackson interjected.

“You will live to regret ever touching my precious and priceless love gifts to Jade.”

“Neve! I will never return this useless thing to Jade. In fact I will destroy and trash it right away. I want to see how I am going to regret ever destroying a useless black stone like you claimed,” Jackson replied and then threw the antique on the floor. Next, he stomped on it and shattered it into pieces.

The black jadeite stone radiated an unusual and mysterious black aura that immediately turned into crimson red illuminating light and ascended into the sky under the watchful gaze of the crowd who stood in daze and confusion.
