Chapter 6

Aiden's words stunned Jade and she hurriedly jumped on him, hugging him very passionately and said, “Aiden, do you mean that you're now fine and mentally okay? Do you mean that you're no longer crazy and useless?”

Aiden nodded his head gently and replied her, “Yes. I am now fine and whole…”

“And  does it matter?! It doesn't matter whether you have recovered from being a crazy idiot or not. It doesn't change the fact that you're useless and unqualified to be my grandson-in-law!”

Jade's grandmother rebuked Aiden immediately and then continued, “You have dragged my family down for the past five years and I can't allow you to keep on dragging us down anymore. Jade is divorcing you right now and that's final.”

Next, she turned to one of her maid servant who was holding a document in her hand and said, “hurry now and give Jade the divorce papers to sign now!”

“Yes, Mrs Smith Senior.” The maid replied and then took out the files containing the divorce papers and handed it over to Jade.

Jade took helplessly took the paper from the maid and then looked at Aiden and said, “Aiden, What should I do?”

Aiden replied with a flat voice and said, “Do whatever you feel like doing. I assure you that I will respect whatever decision you decides to take right now. So, sign it if you want to divorce me but I don't want you to sign it under duress. If you don't want to divorce me, then tear the papers apart and I promise to protect you from now onward.”

Holding Jade's hand, Aiden continued to speak, saying, “Jade, you protected me for five years and took care of my need. I dragged you down and allowed you to face humiliation and mockery for five terrible years because of me but now, I am here to protect you for all your lifetime. I will also give you the whole world if you want. From now onward, I will make sure that you lack nothing in your life and that nobody will ever scot-free should they dare to touch or humiliate you both now and in the future.”

Hearing Aiden's calming and assuring words, Jade nodded her head and said, “I don't want to divorce you but I also don't want my family to be annihilated by the Foleys. Are you really sure that you will save me and my family?”

Although Jade didn't know how and why Aiden suddenly became so confident and bold to speak up with such air of authority, she had a weird conviction he wouldn't be harmed to death by Jackson. She was equally happy that Aiden was finally okay and longer the crazy, useless and mentally-sick person he was used to being before.

“In that case, tear the papers apart. I will protect both you and your family and nobody will be able to annihilate you or your family.”

“Jade, sign the divorce papers right now. Don't listen to this useless idiot who dragged both you and our family down for the past five years. He is useless and can't save you!” Lily began to urge Jade to sign the divorce papers. She told her not to listen to Aiden stating that Aiden was useless and can't help her.

Jade's grandmother, Mrs Smith Senior also scolded her in chastisement, and taunted, “Jade, have you gone nuts?! Why are you listening to that deceptive idiot?! Hurry now and sign the divorce papers so that you can continue your wedding with Mr Foley very smoothly as planned!”

However, Jade looked straight into her grandmother's eyes and said in defiance, “Grandma, I can't sign the divorce papers. I don't want to divorce Aiden. He is still my husband and will remain my husband forever. I don't want to continue with this forced marriage with Mr Foley. This drama is therefore cancelled and nullified!”

Next, Jade picked up the divorce papers and tore them to pieces before the stunning and confused eyes of the members of her family, Jackson Foleys, the notable and dignified guests of honor and the general wedding onlookers.

“Preposterous!”

Jackson was enraged after watching Jade tore the divorce documents and cancelled their agreed wedding and marriage. He quickly rebutted her with a rageful anger.

Then, he scanned Jade and Mrs Smith Senior from head to toe with a darkened face and yelled, “Jade and Mrs Smith Senior, did your family actually think that I am a fool, who can you easily bring to public shame and mockery?! Do you think that I am going to spare any of you now?!” Jackson spoke with an icy voice after Jade tore the divorce papers to pieces and called off the wedding ceremony.

Next, he turned to Aiden and said very coldly, “I would want to see how you are going to save yourself and the Smith's family members from perishing in my hand today!”

Fearful of the threats, Jade turned and whispered into Aiden's ear, saying, “Aiden, you should go home first and I will join you later. Jackson is very dangerous and deadly and you may not be able to withstand him even if you have recovered from your mental sickness.”

Aiden chuckled and replied to her with a bright and confident smile on his face, “Don't worry about me. Jackson is just a piece of useless ant and he can't do anything to either myself or you as far as I am concerned.”

“What?!”

“This is unbelievable!”

“Did Miss Jade Smith just torn the divorce papers to pieces and cancelled her proposed wedding to Mr Foleys?!”

“Does it mean that Miss Jade connived with this idiot to humiliate the Foleys?!”

Jade's action threw the entire wedding hall into commotion and uproar.

The invited dignified guests of honor were looking at Jackson Foleys with speechlessness and disgust while the onlookers were shouting and discussing the matters as if it were their personal life that had been torn apart by Jade.
