The moment the ancient voice uttered the name Eclipse Sovereign, the entire world seemed to recoil. Not merely the city. Not merely the kingdom.Reality itself. The colossal stone gate hanging above Ironhaven trembled as waves of crimson light poured from its ancient surface. Countless runes illuminated simultaneously, creating rivers of golden symbols that flowed across the heavens like celestial waterfalls.

Arthur felt the change immediately. Pain exploded inside his soul. His knees slammed against the shattered stone beneath him. Blood spilt from his mouth. Every nerve in his body felt as though it had been thrust into molten fire. The agony surpassed anything he had experienced during his execution. It surpassed the Soul Severance Sword.

It surpassed death itself. Because this pain was not attacking his body. It was attacking his identity. Memories that did not belong to Arthur Kensington battered the walls of his mind.

Entire worlds flashed before his eyes. He saw armies marching between stars. He saw colossal beasts larger than continents kneeling before a dark throne. He saw civilisations rise and fall in moments. He saw oceans made entirely of silver fire.

He saw suns chained together by impossible constructs forged from living darkness. Most terrifying of all, he saw countless people worshipping a figure seated upon a throne that floated beyond existence itself. The throne looked disturbingly familiar. It resembled the broken throne he had seen beneath the crimson moon. Only this version remained intact.Complete.Perfect.Powerful.

And the person sitting upon it...Arthur could not see the figure's face. Yet he somehow knew. The person on that throne was him. Or perhaps it had once been him. The distinction no longer seemed clear. A scream tore from Arthur's throat.

The vision shattered instantly. The city returned. The ruined prison returned. The ancient gate remained suspended above Ironhaven. Arthur's breathing became ragged. His heart hammered violently. For several terrifying moments, he could no longer distinguish which memories belonged to him.

He remembered Emily's smile. He remembered his father's voice. He remembered growing up in poverty. Yet mixed among those memories were impossible fragments. Ancient fragments.Alien fragments. The memory of watching stars die.The memory of standing before gods. The memory of ending something called the First Age.

Arthur clenched his fists. No. Those weren't his memories. They couldn't be. If he accepted them, what remained of Arthur Kensington?

The realisation struck him harder than any physical wound. For years, he had fought against a world that constantly tried to define him. The weak boy.The failure. The criminal. The condemned. Now another identity threatened to consume him.

A far more dangerous one.The Eclipse Sovereign. The name echoed through his thoughts. Arthur hated it. Because deep inside, a part of him recognised it. The Tribunal leader was the first to react. Golden spiritual energy erupted around him.

His cultivation surged toward the heavens. Every cultivator accompanying him immediately followed suit. Dozens of brilliant auras illuminated the city. The pressure alone caused nearby buildings to shake. The man pointed toward Arthur."Contain him immediately."

The command exploded across the battlefield. Several Tribunal cultivators hesitated. Arthur noticed. Fear had appeared in their eyes. Not fear of him.Fear of the name.Eclipse Sovereign. The title alone seemed capable of shaking ancient powers.

The silver-haired man immediately stepped forward. His aura erupted as well. A storm of silver light swept through the ruins."No one touches the boy."The Tribunal leader frowned."The situation has changed."No."The silver-haired man's eyes hardened.

"The situation has finally revealed itself."Arthur remained where he was.Watching.Listening.Trying desperately to understand. The city above had descended into complete chaos. Countless citizens fled through the streets. Cultivators filled the skies. Temple bells continued ringing. Somewhere in the distance, military horns echoed across Ironhaven.

The kingdom was mobilising. Then something happened that nobody expected. The colossal eye within the abyss closed. The creature beneath the capital suddenly fell silent. Arthur frowned. Moments earlier, the monster had been roaring continuously.

Now it seemed almost respectful. The atmosphere changed. A strange stillness spread through the ruins. The sensation reminded Arthur of prey animals going silent before the arrival of a greater predator.

The realisation sent a chill through him. The creature beneath the city wasn't the greatest threat present. Something worse had awakened. The Eclipse Ascension System suddenly appeared. Emergency Notification: Ancient Gate Activation: 11%Heavenly Lock Failure Detected, Realm Boundary Instability Increasing

Arthur stared. A new term had appeared. Heavenly Lock. Before he could investigate further, another notification followed: Historical Archive Access Unlocked Primary Query Available. Arthur blinked. The system had never offered something like this before.

Instinctively, he focused on the notification. A glowing screen materialised before him. Historical Archive: One Question Available. Arthur's heartbeat accelerated. One question.Only one. The opportunity felt valuable. Dangerously valuable.

He thought carefully. Thousands of questions raced through his mind. Who was the Eclipse Sovereign? Why was he connected to Arthur? What happened during the First Age? Why was his mother still alive? Why had the kingdom executed him?

Every question felt important. Yet one stood above the others. Arthur focused."Who am I?"The screen flickered. Then words slowly appeared. Identity Query AcceptedProcessing...Several seconds passed. The answer finally emerged. Arthur Kensington: ConfirmedEclipse Sovereign: ConfirmedCompatibility Result: Both Identities Are Genuine

Arthur froze. The response made no sense. How could both be genuine? The system continued. Warning: Incomplete Synchronisation Prevents Further Explanation. Arthur's stomach tightened. The answer created even more questions.

Before he could investigate further, a deep rumbling emerged from the heavens. Everyone looked upward. The stone gate was opening. Very slowly.Very deliberately. An ancient crack formed down its centre. Golden light spilt outward.

The sight was breathtaking. It was also horrifying. Because Arthur immediately realised something. The light wasn't escaping from inside the gate. It was leaking in from somewhere beyond it. The gate didn't contain anything. It was blocking access to something. The distinction terrified him. Seraphina noticed as well.

Her face turned pale."No."The word escaped her lips before she could stop it. The silver-haired man looked equally alarmed.

"The timing is wrong."Arthur looked between them."What timing!"Neither answered immediately. The gate opened another inch. The resulting pressure nearly knocked everyone off their feet. Arthur felt reality bend. Space twisted. The stars above the city distorted. Entire sections of the sky appeared to crack like broken glass.

Then figures became visible beyond the opening gate. Arthur's blood ran cold. At first, he thought they were statues. Then one moved. They were people. Or at least they resembled people. Each figure stood hundreds of feet tall.

Golden armour covered their bodies. Massive weapons rested in their hands. Their faces remained hidden behind featureless masks. Yet their presence dwarfed every cultivator Arthur had ever encountered. Even the creature beneath the capital seemed insignificant compared to them.

The Tribunal leader whispered a single phrase."The Wardens."The word carried obvious dread. Arthur looked toward him."Who are they?"

The answer came from Seraphina."Executioners."Arthur frowned."Executioners for what?"Seraphina's expression became grim."For threats capable of destroying realms."The implications struck immediately. Every eye turned toward Arthur. His stomach tightened. The Wardens weren't here by accident. They had come because of him.

One of the gigantic figures slowly moved. The motion appeared sluggish due to its immense size. In reality, it crossed an impossible distance almost instantly. The Warden approached the opening gate. Then it looked down. Directly at Arthur. The sensation nearly stopped his heart. The being's gaze contained no hatred, no anger.

No emotion whatsoever. Arthur had never experienced anything so terrifying. Because emotion could be reasoned with. This thing felt like a natural disaster wearing human form. A voice echoed from beyond the gate.

The sound resembled mountains grinding together. Target ConfirmedRealm Threat Classification: AbsoluteElimination Authorised. The city erupted into panic. People screamed. Cultivators fled. Even the Tribunal members looked shaken. The Wardens were preparing to enter the realm. And they had already decided Arthur deserved death.

The same story.Again.Arthur felt bitter amusement rise inside him. His entire life had been defined by powerful people deciding whether he deserved to live. Apparently, death hadn't changed that. The Eclipse Ascension System suddenly reacted. Warning: Host Life Threatened. Emergency Evolution Available. Arthur immediately frowned.

Emergency evolution? The notification continued. Requirement: Consume Sovereign-Class Energy. Available Source Detected. Arthur followed the system's indication.

His eyes widened. The source wasn't the gate. It wasn't the Wardens. It wasn't even the creature beneath the capital. The source was the gigantic chain connected to the gate. Arthur's pulse accelerated. The chain carried unimaginable energy.

Enough to sustain an entire civilisation.Enough to awaken something hidden inside him. The realisation terrified him. Because he already knew what the system wanted. Consume it. Devour it. Grow stronger. The temptation hit immediately.

Arthur could feel the hunger. The same hunger he had experienced after devouring the soldier's bloodline. Only this time it was infinitely stronger. His entire body wanted that power. His soul wanted it. The darkness beneath his feet began moving again.

Long shadows spread across the ruins. They twisted unnaturally. Almost eagerly. Arthur stared at the chain. Then he remembered Emily. He remembered his father. He remembered the kind of person he wanted to become.

Power without control had ruined countless lives. He refused to surrender himself so easily, no matter how tempting the offer seemed. Yet even as he resisted, the chain continued calling to him. The hunger intensified.

The gate opened wider. The Wardens stepped forward. And somewhere deep inside Arthur's soul, something ancient laughed softly. Because for the first time, the sleeping monster within him realised it might finally have a way to break its chains.

Instead, it left him feeling strangely hollow.Arthur stood at the centre of the execution platform, bound by chains forged from Spirit-Iron. His wrists bled where the restraints dug into his flesh. Dried blood stained his clothes. Bruises covered his face and body, serving as reminders of weeks spent in prison awaiting this moment. Yet none of those injuries hurt as much as what stood before him.Three wooden stakes had been planted at the edge of the square. Upon them rested the severed heads of his family. His father. His m
