Arthur's refusal lasted exactly three heartbeats. Not because his will was weak. Not because temptation had overcome him.But because one of the Wardens moved. The colossal figure beyond the gate raised its weapon. At first, the motion seemed slow, almost deliberate. Then reality itself bent around the weapon's path.

The sky cracked. The stars vanished. An invisible force swept across Ironhaven.Thousands of citizens collapsed instantly. Cultivators throughout the city coughed blood. Ancient defensive formations carved into the capital's walls shattered like glass. Arthur felt something inside his body screaming. Not fear.Recognition.The sensation horrified him. The thing awakening within his soul recognised the Wardens. Worse, it remembered them.

The realisation sent a cold shiver through his entire body. Above the city, the enormous Warden lowered its faceless gaze. Its voice rolled across heaven and earth like a divine decree."Reality Contamination Confirmed."The words echoed across the kingdom. Every living creature heard them. Every bird fell silent. Every beast hid. Even the storm clouds stopped moving.

Arthur clenched his fists. The pressure continued increasing. Buildings collapsed. Roads fractured. People fled through the streets below in blind panic. The city was dying. And somehow, the cause of everything pointed back to him. A bitter expression crossed his face. His entire life had been defined by suffering inflicted upon innocent people. Now, after returning from death, the same pattern threatened to repeat itself.

The only difference was the scale. Before, his family had paid the price. Now, an entire kingdom might suffer because of his existence. The thought dug into him like a knife. The Eclipse Ascension System immediately reacted. Psychological Instability Detected. Core Identity Conflict IncreasingArthur almost laughed.

The system made it sound clinical.Simple.Yet there was nothing simple about this. The strongest desire in Arthur's heart had always been straightforward. He wanted enough power to protect people. Don't rule them. Don't dominate them. Protect them. That dream had survived humiliation. It had survived poverty. It had survived death. Now it faced its greatest challenge.

What happened if gaining power meant becoming the very thing people needed protection from? The silver-haired man suddenly appeared beside him. His expression had become unusually serious."We have seconds."Arthur looked upward. The Warden's weapon continued gathering power. The heavens themselves seemed to distort around it.

"What happens if that thing attacks?"The man didn't answer immediately. The hesitation told Arthur everything. Finally, he spoke."Ironhaven disappears."Arthur's stomach tightened. The man continued."Everyone inside the city dies."

A heavy silence settled between them. Arthur's gaze drifted toward the streets. He could see people running. Families searching for loved ones. Children crying. Merchants were abandoning everything they owned. Ordinary people.People who had nothing to do with the Eclipse Sovereign.Nothing to do with ancient monsters.Nothing to do with forgotten ages. Yet they would suffer anyway.

The familiar cruelty of the world revealed itself once more. Powerful beings fought. Ordinary people paid the price. Arthur hated it. He had always hated it. The silver-haired man noticed his expression."You can't save them."Arthur's eyes narrowed."Why not?"Because you're not strong enough."The answer arrived instantly.Brutal.Honest.

The words reminded Arthur of every noble who had ever mocked him. Every cultivator who had dismissed him.Every person who believed weakness automatically meant helplessness. The anger rising inside him surprised even himself. Not because of the insult.Because a small part of him feared the man was right. The Warden raised its weapon higher. The city trembled.

The golden chain attached to the heavenly gate pulsed violently. Arthur could feel the energy flowing through it.Infinite.Ancient.Waiting.The system notification returned. Emergency Evolution Available. Source Confirmed. Consume Heavenly Lock Energy? Arthur stared at the message. The temptation grew stronger.

The hunger spreading through his soul felt unbearable. Every instinct urged him forward.Consume.Evolve.Survive.The process seemed natural. Almost reasonable. Yet Arthur remembered the soldier he had drained. He remembered the horror of watching life disappear from another person's eyes. Power always demanded payment.

The question was whether he could live with the cost. Before he could decide, a scream echoed from below. Arthur immediately looked toward the city. His eyes widened. A section of the capital had collapsed. An entire district disappeared beneath falling debris. Hundreds of people were trapped.

The Warden hadn't even attacked yet. Its mere presence was enough to destroy lives. Arthur's hesitation vanished.  His decision wasn't born from ambition. It wasn't born from greed. It came from necessity.  If he remained weak, everyone would die. Including him. The realisation settled into his heart with terrifying clarity. Sometimes survival required choices that felt impossible. Arthur looked directly at the glowing chain.

The shadows beneath his feet erupted instantly. Dark tendrils surged upward like living serpents. The moment they touched the chain, heaven screamed. There was no other word for it. The sky itself screamed. The sound shattered windows across the kingdom. Mountains trembled. The sea beyond Ironhaven churned violently.

Every Warden beyond the gate turned toward Arthur simultaneously. For the first time, genuine movement appeared among the colossal figures. Not indifference. Not duty.Alarm.The chain pulsed. Then, power exploded into Arthur's body. Agony followed immediately. Arthur collapsed. A scream tore from his throat.

The energy flooding into him felt impossibly vast. His veins glowed. His bones cracked. His muscles tore apart and rebuilt themselves repeatedly. Every cell in his body transformed. The sensation transcended ordinary pain. It felt as though reality itself was trying to remake him.

The Eclipse Ascension System is flooded with notifications. Heavenly Lock Energy Absorbed. Evolution Threshold Reached. Stone Rhino Bloodline Consumed. Advanced Bloodline Formation Initiated. Arthur barely noticed. The world around him dissolved. Darkness swallowed everything. Then he found himself standing somewhere impossible. A sea of stars stretched endlessly in every direction.

The broken crimson moon hung above. The seven thrones remained suspended in darkness. Only now, Arthur noticed something new. The empty throne was no longer empty. A shadow sat upon it. The figure appeared human. Yet Arthur couldn't make out its features. The darkness surrounding the being consumed all details. Then the figure spoke.

"You continue disappointing me."Arthur immediately recognised the voice. The same voice from the gate. The same voice from his visions. The same voice hidden within his soul. Arthur's jaw tightened"Who are you?"

The figure laughed softly. The sound carried neither warmth nor malice. Only amusement."A question you already know how to answer."Arthur frowned. The shadow slowly rose from the throne. The movement caused entire constellations to tremble. Countless stars shifted. Reality bent. The sight filled Arthur with unease.

The figure took a step forward."You are afraid."Arthur remained silent. The shadow continued."You are afraid of becoming me."The words struck harder than expected. Because they were true. Arthur had been terrified ever since hearing the title Eclipse Sovereign. Terrified of losing himself.Terrified of becoming a monster.Terrified that everything the world believed about him might eventually become reality.

The shadow smiled. At least, Arthur thought it smiled. The darkness made certainty impossible."That fear is why you are weak."Arthur's eyes hardened."No."The answer came immediately."My fear is why I'm still human."For the first time, the shadow fell silent.

A strange expression crossed its obscured face. Then it laughed. This time, the laughter sounded genuine.Interesting.Arthur didn't know whether that reaction was reassuring or terrifying. Before he could speak again, the shadow looked upward. Toward the crimson moon. Its voice became quieter.

"They're coming."Arthur followed its gaze. His blood froze. Cracks spread across the moon. Something enormous moved behind it. The shape of the dwarfed planets. Its silhouette stretched across entire constellations. Arthur couldn't comprehend its size. Or its nature. The shadow's voice grew colder.

"The Wardens are merely servants."Arthur felt dread rising within him."If they're servants..."The shadow nodded. Then it delivered an answer Arthur desperately wished he hadn't asked for."Their masters are awakening."

The stars around them suddenly shattered. The entire realm collapsed. Arthur was violently thrown back toward reality. His eyes snapped open. The ruined prison returned. The city returned. The heavenly gate remained suspended above Ironhaven. Only now, everything had changed. Arthur could feel it immediately. Power surged through his body. A new bloodline had formed. Not borrowed. Not stolen.Created.

The system displayed its result. New Bloodline Created Eclipse Tyrant Bloodline. Synchronisation Rate: 12%Arthur stared. The name alone felt dangerous. Then he noticed something else. Everyone was looking at him. The Tribunal cultivators.Seraphina.The silver-haired man.Even the monsters beneath the city. Every gaze carried disbelief.

Arthur followed their line of sight. His breath caught. Dark markings now covered portions of his skin. Ancient symbols. The same symbols are engraved upon the heavenly gate. The same symbols are floating around the crimson moon. The same symbols present in his visions. The markings pulsed with faint silver light. The silver-haired man looked genuinely shaken.

"Impossible."Arthur frowned."What?"The man's expression became grim."Those marks shouldn't appear until much later."Arthur's stomach tightened."What do they mean?"

Nobody answered. Because something far worse had happened. The heavenly gate opened further. And this time, something stepped through. Not a Warden. Not a servant.Something else. A single foot emerged beyond the threshold. The moment it touched reality, every Warden immediately knelt. The city fell silent.

The monsters beneath the capital became still. Even the storm clouds stopped moving. The entire world seemed to hold its breath. Then a voice echoed from beyond the gate.Calm.Ancient.Terrifying."I finally found you."Arthur's blood ran cold. Because the voice wasn't speaking to the world. It wasn't speaking to the Wardens. It wasn't speaking to the monsters. It was speaking directly to him.

And for the first time since his resurrection, Arthur felt something worse than fear.Recognition.Somewhere deep inside his soul, a forgotten memory stirred. And that forgotten memory knew exactly who had just arrived.
