Chapter 1: Apologize to him.

The ballroom was filled with people with influential backgrounds and enough food to feed 500 people.

Today was the celebratory event of Natasha Williams, the owner of Natasha Enterprise ,she has really done well for herself that over the course of six years, She managed to build a multi-millionaire empire even though she started this company when she was just 20 years old and now at 26 years, she was one of the most talked about ceo.

Elijah watched his wife Natasha with her guests, and he had a smile on his face. He has always been proud of her, and he was happy that she married him.

Elijah had a glass of wine in his hand and he was taking a sip at a time.

"Isn't that Elijah Smith the husband of Mrs Natasha Williams, how dare he show his face here when he was at home acting like a leech while his wife worked hard to build her empire alone?" A lady who was close by asked her friend.

"I cannot believe that he was with her for six years and did not even help her and now he is trying to rip where he did not so such men have scum that should be divorced," The second lady said and he just shook his head.

The ladies were talking about him ,as if he wasn't here, but he was just two feet away from them and he could clearly hear them.

Elijah just sighed and shook his head ,if only they knew that the success of his wife, he was the one behind it, no one would dare insult him.

Elijah and his wife were college sweethearts and when she opened the company ,he tried to help her and he has tried over the years to work for her, but she refused saying that she wanted to be the only one who would take the credits if her company grows up ,that was why he decided to help her from the background doing everything he could to make her get contracts that now has paid of and she was a multi- millionaire.

Even though his wife doesn't know that he was the one who helped her, he would not tell her because he was happy that his wife was content and the smile on her face seeing that she has finally succeeded brought joy to his heart.

Elijah was still mesmerised with his wife's dress, and admiring how it fitted her and her curvy body, he bit his lower lips, when someone came and tapped a hand on his shoulder and he turned around to see Henry , a popular bachelor who has told him many times he was not in the same league with his wife.

Elijah clenched the glass in his hand ,but Henry's eyes were not on him, it was on his wife who was talking to her guest.

"Isn't she such an amazing woman, in just six years she managed to build a company up from scratch and make it into a multi millionaire empire,” Henry said as his grip on Elijah's shoulder tightened and he was digging his nails into Elijah's skin , causing him a little discomfort.

“Don't you think that such a woman deserves a loving and supporting husband, not the man who just stays at home washing dishes?" Henry asked with a condescending tone, as he turned to look at Elijah removing his hand from his shoulder.

"Oh my God! do my makeup look good, it is Mr Henry, oh he looks so dashing today!" One of the ladies insulting Elijah earlier exclaimed and he had to hold back from rolling his eyes.

The ladies who were insulting Elijah gushed over Henry's beautiful appearance and Henry turned to them and waved.

"Hello ladies," He smiled and they gasped in shock.

"He waved to me, Mr Henry waved to me," She was so happy.

"You see how I could easily make the ladies happy with just a smile, but even though you stay by your wife's side every day the only thing that you manage to do is to be a nuisance to her," Henry said in a condensing tone with a smirk on his face.

Elijah knew that he had to leave this place or step away from Henry or else he would not stop, so he turned to Henry.

"Thank you for dropping by to talk with me. I'll be on my way then," Elijah told him and wanted to walk away but Henry grabbed his shoulder ,again this time digging his finger harder hoping to leave an injury.

Henry's face was filled with anger ,as he didn't want to lose face, "Hey don't you dare walk away from me when I am not done talking!"

Elijah did not like how Henry was gripping his shoulder so he just took his hand and pushed it away, but Henry being the weak man he was, stumbled and crashed on a waiter holding a tray of wine and they both fell,ruining Henry's white suit and everyone turned to gasp in shock.

"How dare you push me down!" Henry's voice thundered, as he got up from the floor, his white suit now turned red from the wine and Natasha, hearing the commotion, ran towards the direction that it was happening and stopped to see both of them.

"How can a man be as weak and as light as a paper? I just pushed your hand away, and you fell down. What is wrong with you?" Elijah asked him ,because he could not comprehend how a grown up man could fall from just getting his hand pushed away .He didn't even use too much force.

Henry's face became red with embarrassment and anger because many people saw what happened and saw that Elijah lightly pushed him , so Elijah was making him lose face.

"You didn't lightly push me, you wanted to punch me that was why I stepped back and I crashed into the waiter!" Henry yelled in his defence trying to save his face, as people we are now watching the whole thing.

Natasha rushed to Henry's side.

"Mr Henry, I am really sorry for this please go with one of the bodyguards they will get you something to change into," Natasha told him but Henry wasn't ready to let this go, because Elijah just humiliated him in front of many people and in front of Natasha who he was trying to woo.

"I cannot let this go so easily,I am going to sue him in court and get the police to arrest him for assaulting me," Henry said to Natasha and Natasha did not want to escalate this matter, so she turned to Elijah.

"I know very well that I told you not to cause any problems here today ,but you would never listen to me ,please just apologise to him let us put this matter behind us," Natasha told Elijah.

"I don't know why Henry is so weak, but he was grabbing my shoulder and digging his fingers into it ,then I pushed this hand away and he fell, I have no reason to apologise to him," Elijah said in his defence ,because the last thing he was going to do is apologise to a man who has been hitting on his wife and telling him he wasn't good enough for his wife.

"You lying bastard! You know that is a lie! You tried to punch me! Guards come here quickly!" Henry yelled out ,because the last thing he wanted was Natasha to think that he was a weak man who could not defend himself from a little push.

Just as Henry instructed, three of his guards rushed towards him.

“Mr Henry's, please let us not escalate this matter Elijah apologised to him let this be the end of this, you cannot afford to offend Mr Henry, because both of you are not on the same level,” Natasha, his wife, told him to apologize.

“So you believe another man over your own husband?" Elijah asked in disbelief because she was turning a blind eye to his complaint and was even on Henry's side, not his side as her husband.

“Mr Henry has no reason to lie," Natasha replied.

Elijah scoffed, "so you think I have a reason to lie?"

"Elijah just stop making things difficult and just apologise," Natasha said in annoyance as she stomped her foot on the floor.

"Is it true that Mrs Natasha and Mr Henry are in a relationship?" One of the ladies asked her friend.

"I don't think it's true," The second lady replied.

"If it is not true then why did she defend Mr. Henry and not even listen to her own husband?" The first lady asked and Elijah clenched his fists, it has always been this way.
