No matter how much he sacrificed for his wife and even put himself down, so that she would not feel inferior to him, Natasha never treated him with care and respect. She always looked down on him after she began making money and even refused to let him work with her.
"I will not apologise because I did nothing wrong," Elijah said, standing his ground. He took a big gulp from his glass and then dropped the cup on the floor. "What are you guys waiting for? Beat him up!" Henry ordered his bodyguards, pointing a finger at Elijah with rage in his eyes. The guards rushed Elijah without hesitation. Elijah didn't even flinch when the three men charged at him. Even though he was outnumbered, he quickly stood his ground, clenched his fists tightly, and watched their movements carefully. As the first bodyguard tried to strike, Elijah jumped up and kicked him in the head, sending the man flying backward. He crashed onto the floor, and passed out. Everybody in the ballroom gasped in shock, their mouths wide open in disbelief. "Did he just send him flying with one kick! The bodyguard is unconscious!" someone exclaimed, as they began to murmur. The two remaining bodyguards were taken aback by what had just happened, but they charged toward Elijah. That was a terrible mistake. "If you don't want to embarrass yourselves further, I suggest you stop," Elijah warned, his eyes cold, as he shifted into a defensive stance. The bodyguards didn’t listen. One of them lunged, but Elijah sidestepped out of the way of the attack and kicked him in the side of the stomach. The man groaned loudly, collapsing to the floor in pain. The last bodyguard attacked him, and Elijah kicked his leg so hard a loud crack was heard in the room, indicating something was broken or dislodged. The guard screamed in pain falling to the ground. "My leg! He broke my leg!" the bodyguard yelled in pain, holding his leg and rolling on the floor. Henry was taken aback, was Elijah always this strong? His smirk now gone from his face, as he stepped backward in fear. Elijah turned to glare at him. "Are these the people that defend you? I didn’t think you would hire such unprofessional bodyguards. Don’t you think you should find stronger men to defend you, because you lie too much and it will get you into trouble?" Elijah asked with a mocking tone, walking towards him, with clenching his fists. Natasha rushed in, stepping in front of Henry to block Elijah. "Elijah, I told you to apologise for the problem you caused at my celebration event, and instead, you attack people," Natasha said, her voice full of disbelief as she stared at her husband. Elijah, who would always listen to her and do anything to make her happy, could not believe that this time, she sided against him. "Natasha, I am very sure you're still young and you don’t have any problem with your eyes or ears. Henry told his men to attack me, and I defended myself and you're saying I attacked people at your event!" Elijah's voice thundered with anger. "It doesn’t matter who was wrong ,you should not offend Mr. Henry because he has helped me a lot, and you have done nothing for me," Natasha said and Elijah paused. He had been the one working in the background, helping her build her company. So why was she giving Henry the credit? "What exactly did Henry do for you?" Elijah asked sharply, his brows furrowed in confusion. He had to understand why she was defending a man who clearly disliked him and openly chased after her despite her being married. "You should be thanking Henry because he was the one who got me the contract I signed with Smith Group. If not for him, there would be no event today for you to come and eat to your content," Natasha said , and Henry lifted his head, full of pride. "Henry was the one who got you the contract? How is that possible?" Elijah asked, staring at her in disbelief. He was the actual owner of Smith Group. He had personally instructed his assistant CEO to give Natasha the contract anonymously and now Henry was claiming credit? "Henry is good friends with the owner of Smith Group. Even though we don’t know who that person is, Henry still managed to convince him to sign the contract with me. That’s why I’m thankful to him," Natasha explained the situation. Elijah froze. Trying to process the information. "Oh, so that’s why Mrs. Natasha is always defending Henry. He has such good contacts with the mysterious owner of Smith's Group. Having such a friend is good, even though I would die to marry Mr. Henry!" a lady nearby gushed, her voice filled with admiration. Elijah tried to find the words to speak. He looked at Natasha, then at Henry. He was the one behind everything. He didn’t remember ever being friends with Henry. He had done everything in secret ,gave her loans, connected her with clients, even the Smith Group deal. And now Henry was standing here, stealing all the praise. Elijah suddenly burst into laughter. If he had known this was all it took for Natasha to love someone, maybe he should have revealed his money and power instead of working silently in the background. He never wanted to overshadow her success, but now she was treating him like trash. He knew if he told her the truth now, she wouldn’t believe him. "Are you sure he's not lying to you?" Elijah asked with an arched eyebrow . "He has no reason to lie," she replied, trusting Henry's words. "So just because of that, you defend another man over your husband even when your husband is in the right? I understand. I won’t cause any more problems for you. I’ll take my leave and head back home," Elijah said, shaking his head as he turned to walk away. "You cannot leave until you apologise to me!" Henry said from behind Natasha. Elijah laughed again and turned around slowly. "For a man who is hiding behind a woman, you sure have a lot of guts to speak to me!" Elijah jeered. Henry’s face twisted in anger, but he stayed quiet. He did not want Elijah to attack him and humiliate him again. Elijah turned again to walk away, but his wife's voice stopped him. "Elijah, if you walk away from here without apologising to him, just know that we will get a divorce. I cannot stay with a man who does not know how to control himself in public places or appreciate someone when they do something good for him," Natasha said. Elijah froze, his shoulders dropped as he turned slowly to look at her with wide eyes. "You want to divorce me because I refuse to apologise to Henry?" he asked softly, disbelief written all over his face. Behind her, Henry smirked. Henry thought to himself, If they get divorced because of this, then I have a chance. As he made eye contact with Elijah, he winked. Elijah clenched his fists and had to hold himself back from attacking him.Latest Chapter
Chapter 45: The end
Elijah was estranged from his family, so he was surprised when they decided to meddle in his company. One evening, his grandfather called him to his home, and he went. Sitting in the large living room, his grandfather told him to fire his friend as assistant CEO and let his younger stepbrother be the assistant CEO. Elijah refused immediately, and when his father tried to slap him, Elijah pushed him away and fought off his guards. “What exactly do you mean that I should fire my best friend and let my stepbrother take the position of assistant CEO? The only thing he knows is how to party. What will he do for me?” Elijah asked, trying to understand the reasoning behind all this. “You should listen to your grandfather because he knows what is best for you and your company. You just began owning this company for a few years. We have been in the game longer than you,” Elijah’s father told him angrily. Elijah’s father was not a good father. After marrying his stepmother, he always mistreat

Chapter 41: Give me the assistant ceo position .
Elijah, who was sitting close to Olivia Blake, ended the call on Natasha, sliding his phone onto the table and letting out a breath."Oh yeah, who were you talking to?" Olivia asked, raising her brow slightly. Even though she had a clue who it was, she wanted to hear it from him directly."I was talking to Natasha. She told Elijah she needed money to help her company," Elijah informed Olivia since there was nothing to hide. "I thought she took a loan from the bank?" Olivia narrowed her eyes, trying to piece it together.Olivia was there when Natasha came to the bank to take the loan ,so she wondered if Natasha was using this to get closer to Elijah."Someone in her financial department took the loan and ran," Elijah replied calmly, picking up a slice of pizza and began eating it."Oh, that’s bad. Chapter 40: I won't help
Natasha sat on her couch at home, drinking from a bottle of whiskey. If someone had told her that after some years, this is how her company was going to go bankrupt ,because someone decided to steal the money and run away, she would never have believed it.She could not believe that all she had worked hard for all these years would go down the drain, just because someone decided to take that money ,which was hard for her to get the bank to loan her. She stared at the ceiling in disbelief, her hands gripping the bottle tightly.Mrs. Williams, her mother, saw her daughter drinking and not doing anything reasonable with her life, so she decided to speak up."Natasha, I have told you that Henry wants to help you, so why would you not give him an opportunity?” she asked.“Why would you not go and see him and ask for help? Why are you too proud that you cannot even ask for help from him?" Mrs. Williams scolded her daughter, standing at the center of the room with folded arms. Her father dec
