As their thoughts and assumption lingered, the beautiful lady advanced toward them, her flowing gown sweeping the polished floor.

Each step she took radiated confidence and authority.

When she reached them, Ava was the first to speak.

“Can you repeat what you just said? Did you just call someone here your husband? Who exactly is he?”

The lady—now clearly identified as Michaela Murfers—didn’t spare Ava a response.

Instead, she looked her up and down and ignored her.

Locking eyes with the manager, she spoke in a smooth, controlled tone. “Tell your men to let him go.”

The guards hesitated.

“Who are you to countermand my order?” Liam snapped immediately. “I told him to remove this peasant from here, and you have no right to interfere.”

Michaela turned sharply toward Liam.

“I will pardon you today, But the next time you refer to my husband as a ‘peasant’, I will deal with you mercilessly.”

Everywhere became astonishingly SILENT.

It was the first time a woman had ever silenced Liam Paige so effortlessly—and he actually kept quiet.

Katherine, who had been restraining her fury, could no longer hold back.

She stepped forward, pointing at Michaela.

“You should be ashamed of yourself! Calling this scumbag your husband? Out of all the men in this world, you chose him? Or is this some kind of joke?”

Michaela opened her mouth to respond, but Ethan gently touched her arm.

“We don’t need to argue with them. They’re not our priority.”

His eyes, however, remained locked on Ava, who was staring at him with undisguised disgust.

Ethan took Michaela’s hand and began leading her toward the VIP section.

Suddenly, Ava grabbed Michaela’s wrist.

In one swift motion, Michaela twisted free and shoved Ava backward.

“Don’t you dare touch me with those hands,” Michaela warned coldly as Ava stumbled straight into Liam’s arms.

Steadying herself, Ava could not contain the amount of shame in her!

She had never experienced disgrace like this before—and she wasn’t about to let it pass.

She left Liam's body and charged at Michaela.

“You can’t take my place at the VIP table! I am Ava Lugard, the CEO of Lugards Enterprises. You two are nobodies! You can’t compete with me in wealth, fame, connections, or status. That table belongs to me and not any of you. So get lost!”

“She’s right!” a voice from the VIP section echoed.

Another guest added, “Everyone here knows Ava Lugard and her family. But who are you?”

“Exactly!” someone else chimed in. “You don’t even have invitation cards. How did you get in here?”

“This is embarrassing!” another guest protested. “The new CEO of Murfers Empire and her family will arrive soon. Is this the chaos they’re supposed to see? Security, throw these fake and poor impostors out!”

Watching the GUESTS side with them, Ava and Katherine exchanged pleased smiles.

Even Liam tilted his head toward Ethan, silently mouthing— LOSER

The crowd was clearly against Ethan and Michaela.

No one stepped forward to defend them. After all, their identities were hidden.

None of them knew Ethan was the CEO of GRC.

And as for Michaela, no one knew she was part of the Murfers family.

She had spent twenty-five years abroad and had only returned to the country yesterday.

To take more advantage of the situation, Liam adjusted his shades and turned to the manager with a confident smile.

“You know what to do, right? Get these two peasants out of here. I mean the male Peasant and the female peasant!”

The manager nodded nervously and turned to his guards. “Men, take these—”

Before the manager could complete his words, a loud slap cut through the lounge.

The manager staggered sideways, clutching his cheek as gasps erupted loudly.

Standing there was Simon Noah—the General Manager of all affairs related to Murfers Group.

His face was filled with fury and disappointment.

Without hesitation, he walked past everyone and bowed deeply before Michaela.

“I’m deeply sorry, Miss Murfers. Please forgive my subordinate. He was unaware of your identity.”

Everyone's mouth opened in shock.

Are they dreaming?

The General Manager of a luxurious Company like MURFERS EMPIRE is bowing before Michaela and even apologizing?

Liam’s mind raced.

Simon just called the lady Miss Murfers?

Hold on…

Could it be that…?

“Hmm.” Michaela hummed thoughtfully

“Miss Murfers, please tell me who offended you. Just point the person out, and they will be removed immediately!” Simon straightened nervously

Michaela’s gaze slowly moved—until it landed on Ava.

Ava’s heart nearly stopped beating the moment her eyes MET with Michaela's.

She wasn’t foolish. The pieces were falling into place.

Michaela Murfers.

The CEO of Murfers Empire.

Ava opened her mouth to speak in defense of herself but Michaela overtook her first.

“There! His name is Liam Paige!” Michaela said calmly, pointing forward! “He humiliated my personality. So, go ahead… Punish him.”

Ava exhaled sharply in relief before turning toward Liam in shock.

The lounge fell into dead silence as all eyes shifted to Liam.

Liam remained composed, hands sliding into his pockets.

He wasn't flinched by Michaela's orders.

Instead, he was confident.

If Michaela was the CEO of Murfers Empire, he was the CEO of Paige’s Fashion Home.

Murfers Empire is huge, yes. But his company and brand name was also huge as well.

Sighting the level of confidence in Liam's face, Simon approached him slowly.

Of course, Paige's Fashion Home was huge, so as its CEO. But it ranked tenth in Sera and thirty-second globally.

Simon respected Liam—but Murfers Empire stood far above him.

Therefore, he would do as Michaela had wanted him to do.

As people's suspense EXPRESSED further, Simon commanded.

“Apologize to Miss Murfers. Right now.”

“He shouldn’t apologize to Michaela,” Ethan’s voice rang out sharply, spinning everyone's head at him.

“He should go on his knees, and apologize to me instead!”

His eyes locked onto Liam’s, blazing with restrained fury.

Liam slowly removed his hands from his pockets and stepped closer until they were face to face.

He leaned in slightly, his voice low and dangerous.

“You…”

Cynthia found it extremely difficult to believe what Ethan was telling her.Her father had supposedly set him up to look like the person who had shot her mother. At first, Cynthia thought Ethan was only trying to use her own claim against her. She had previously told the police that her father was the one who shot her mother. She had even gotten her father arrested and gone as far as suing him.She thought Ethan was simply trying to take advantage of that fact to clear his own name. That was why she found his story so difficult to believe. Not until he repeated the same thing again. Her father had wanted to set him up.Cynthia shook her head slowly, as though the words were too heavy for her mind to process.“What... what are you saying? How is that even possible?” she asked.“I saw you with the gun. I saw you when it happened, and I saw my mother lying on the floor. It was obvious that the two of you were having an argument, and maybe one thing led to another and you shot her. Perhap

What made Cynthia really imagine that Ethan was actually the person who shot Fiona? He had thought that Cynthia had called him over for something far more important, although he didn't know exactly what it was. But what he couldn't understand was Michaela telling him that he was the one who shot Fiona and questioning why he had done that.Ethan shook his head.“From where to where?!” he asked himself. Where was her narrative coming from? He hadn't told Cynthia that he was the one who shot Fiona, neither had he given her any hint that could expose the real shooter. How had she reached the conclusion that he was the shooter?Wait…Ethan's mind quickly flashed back to that night when the shooting had occurred. Cynthia entered the room, but before she came in, Darlington had inserted the gun into Ethan's

“It may seem as though you're curious, way more curious about the reason I called you here,” Cynthia started. “But far bigger than your curiosity, you've also been asking yourself one BIG question for the past three days now!” Ethan didn't want to jump to conclusions. His breath caught as he stared at her. “There is one question you've been wanting to ask me all these days, but you don't know how you're going to ask me. Am I right?” Ethan pretended to have no idea what she was talking about. “I don't think I understand what you are talking about, Cynthia!” “I know the truth, Ethan!” Cynthia said without wasting any time. “I know the truth about what actually happened to my mother!” Ethan's lips parted as his heart began beating faster. He didn't even realize when the words slipped out of his mouth. “You know the truth? About... about what happened to your mother?” “What are you talking about?” “The shooter!” Cynthia replied. Ethan's eyes shifted rapidly. “I know the truth

Cynthia didn't say anything at first. She simply pointed at the seat opposite her before prompting Ethan.“Why don't you take a seat first, Ethan?”Of course, he would.Ethan didn't waste another second before taking his seat. Anything that would keep the conversation going, he was all for it.Having settled into the chair, Ethan shrugged.“So, here we are! Can I get to hear it already?!”Rather than responding immediately to what Ethan had said, Cynthia tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and heaved a deep sigh.“You see, Ethan, calling you here was something I carefully thought about. And I didn't call you here for just any minor reason!”Ethan remained composed, his eyes fixed on her as she continued.“I called you here because there is something you need to know about this whole case!”Ethan swallowed hard.“There is something I need to know?” he asked.Cynthia nodded.“But what is it?!”Keeping her eyes locked on Ethan, Cynthia continued.“It may seem as though you're curious,

Outside the location Cynthia had sent Ethan to, he stood patiently, his eyes scanning the area as he searched for her.But there was no sign of Cynthia anywhere. His brows furrowed slightly. This was strange.Ethan reached for his phone and checked the message Cynthia had sent him earlier—the one containing the location. He looked at it again and read the name aloud.“SunRise Eateries.”He slowly lifted his head and looked at the building in front of him.The same name was boldly displayed on the sign above the entrance.“SunRise Eateries,” he repeated. So, he wasn't at the wrong location. But if he was in the right place, then why couldn't he find Cynthia?Curiosity gnawed at him.Ethan pulled out his phone again and decided to call her. Let me hear what she has to say.”“Do you seriously need to hear what she has to say?” the old man asked, his patience clearly wearing thin. “That girl isn't relevant. Let's just get going, okay?”Micheala remained firm.“It’s just a few minutes, Father. I’ll be back in no time.”It was, at least, a partial victory for Ivy.
