“You think I’ll bow for you?” Liam scoffed. “You must be mistaken if you believe a man like me would go on his knees and beg you for mercy. Neither you nor Michaela will ever hear a sorry from me!”

Anger pulsed through him, but neither Michaela nor Ethan looked disturbed.

Instead, Ethan smiled.

“One should only be proud when they have nothing to lose,” Ethan said calmly. “In your case, forty percent of your resources come from Murfers Empire. Thirty percent of your net profit flows from this same empire. Imagine what you’ll lose—how much you’ll lose—at the snap of her fingers.”

He took a step closer, lowering his voice.

“To save your reputation, let go of your pride and kneel before me, Liam Paige.”

Liam’s fists tightened so hard.

His legs began to shake even though he tried to hide it.

He knew Ethan was right.

Even if Ethan couldn’t personally carry out those threats, Michaela absolutely could.

Either way, he would be the one to suffer.

“You have five minutes to apologize. Just five minutes, Liam. And during this five minutes, I want you to understand something!” Ethan scoffed, then continued. “Your company’s life is at stake.”

Ava tugged at Liam’s sleeve, trying to pull his attention.

“You have to do this,” she whispered urgently. “Think about the collaboration. Think about the profits. Drop your ego and apologize!”

Liam ignored her, his gaze still fixed on Ethan.

“You have two minutes left,” Ethan warned, his tone sharpening. “Beg me—or you lose.”

The guests exchanged glances.

Liam was a respected figure. Could he truly kneel before Ethan?

After a long, tense silence, Liam shut his eyes.

His fists clenched.

Then, slowly—painfully—he dropped to his knees.

A collective gasp filled the lounge.

In that moment, a victorious smile spread across Ethan’s face as Liam forced the words out.

“I’m sorry, Ethan Loner,” he muttered stiffly. “Forgive me, Michaela Murfers.”

The irony was suffocating.

This was the same man who had humiliated Ethan, sent him on degrading errands, and even played a role in sending him to jail.

And now—he was kneeling. Right before him?

Ethan and Michaela exchanged a brief glance.

Instead of responding, Ethan simply took Michaela’s hand and walked away with her into the VIP section.

They settled into their luxurious seats, surrounded by intercontinental dishes and sparkling crystal glasses.

Kneeling had been easy. But standing up would be much harder.

How would Liam face those who once respected him?

He rose stiffly, then turned his looks on Ethan.

Ethan simply turned, winked at him, and gave him a deliberate thumbs-down.

“Miss Ava,” Simon said coldly, pointing toward the general guest area, “you and your family do not have access to the VIP section. Please join the other guests.”

This felt like a slap across Ava’s face. So, after all the pride she took in being invited to this party, she was receiving this level of humiliation?

Well, what could she do?

She can only do as she was instructed. And that is to go to the guests area!

When they reached the ordinary section, she froze.

The same waiter she had splashed with wine earlier was now serving drinks there.

Meaning she would be served by the same waiter she humiliated even after saying she can only be served by BILLIONAIRE WAITERS and waitresses!

Humiliation just swallowed her like a flood!

Meanwhile, Liam’s look was locked at Ethan.

He remembered how Ethan once begged him for a small allowance to buy Ava a birthday gift—how he had refused.

And now, Ethan was seated in the VIP section while he stood among ordinary guests.

This was what he was thinking when the master of ceremonies stepped onto the stage.

“Attention, everyone!” he announced into the microphone. “We have gathered tonight to announce the new CEO of Murfers Empire. Following the demise of her father, the late Mr. Dona Murfers, Michaela Murfers will now take over as the CEO of Murfers Empire! A round of applause!”

Michaela set her drink down gracefully and rose to her feet.

Thunderous applause filled the mansion.

Ethan clapped enthusiastically. “Go on, Mich!” he cheered loudly.

Several VIP guests turned to glare at him.

“I’m sorry,” Ethan said with a playful smile.

“Very disgusting,” one lady muttered under her breath.

Ethan simply smiled back, unfazed. Of course, he wasn't ready to pick up a fight with anyone.

On stage, Michaela took the microphone.

“Good evening, everyone. I’m Michaela Murfers…”

Ava’s cheeks flushed with complicated emotion.

Her company was about to grow in ranking once the partnership with Murfers Empire was finalized.

Then Michaela continued.

“I would also like you all to meet someone who makes me happy. The special person in my life—my husband, Ethan Loner.”

The applause that followed was laced with irony and disbelief.

“Wait… Ethan is truly her husband?” Ava muttered under her breath.

She didn’t know whether what she felt was jealousy or pure outrage.

Just then, Ethan joined Michaela on stage and wrapped his arms around her.

Ava’s fists clenched.

Katherine’s feet tapped furiously against the floor.

Unable to restrain herself, Katherine stepped forward.

“That’s Ethan Loner—my ex-son-in-law!” she shouted. “How is it possible that he’s your husband?”

The room quieted.

Ethan only smiled, which made Katherine even more furious.

“Yes, he is my husband. And whether he’s your ex-son-in-law is none of my concern.” Said Michaela.

“How could you marry a bastard like him?” Katherine yelled. “My daughter divorced him just four hours ago and he jumped onto you! It’s not too late—you can still divorce him!”

Ava tried to pull her mother back. “Mom, stop—”

But Katherine refused.

“My daughter fed him, sheltered him! He lived under our roof for three years. And how did he repay us? By killing my father-in-law—Charles Lugard!”

Whispers rippled through the crowd.

“So he’s a murderer?” someone murmured.

Michaela started to speak, but Ethan gently held her back.

He stepped forward slowly, eyes fixed on Katherine.

“Did you just blame me for the Death of Mr Lugards ? And even labelled me as useless?”

Katherine nodded. “Of course, ain't that what you are?”

“No that's not what I am!” Ethan opposed.

“For three years of my marriage with your daughter, I did everything in my power to please her. I never depended on her income. I endured every humiliation from you and your family without complaint. But how did she repay me?” Ethan asked, lifting his hand and pointing toward the large projector behind them.

“This is how she repaid me!”

Everyone looked up to the projector Ethan pointed.

Even Katherine turned to take a look.

And with just a glance, her handbag slipped from her fingers.

The guests couldn't even stop glaring at the screen in shock.

Some closed their eyes because it was disgusting to watch what was going on in the projector!

Ava and Liam exchange glances with their mouths opened in surprise. Especially Ava whose lips were shaking!

That was her sex video going in the Projector!

The same video where she was moaning "I love it, Liam! Oh shit... Fuvk me right there in my pussy... Yeah, that spot..."

The second man froze when he heard Ethan speak like that. In this mansion, he was used to people lowering their heads, used to hearing the word boss fall from their lips without hesitation. His eyes lingered on her, suspicion evident.“You’re done with your work? What work exactly?”Ivy opened her mouth to respond, but the first man cut in.“And who is that?” he asked, pointing directly at Ethan. “Is he with you?”Ivy nodded quickly, a little too eagerly.“Yes, sir. He’s with me. We came together!” she said. Then, as if recalling something important, she added, “Remember when I spilled your meal earlier and everything got messed up? He’s the janitor I called to clean it up.”The two officers exchanged uncertain glances before pe
