DAMAIN'S POV

I got back home with the thought of what Bernard might have wanted to tell me. My heart is beating fast at the thought of seeing Dummy back at school.

Was he not dead?

Has he been hiding all this while?

Does my father know something about this?

All was sorted if a thought crossed my mind as I drove into the gigantic mansion. I hopped down and threw my keys to one of my father's men.

He bowed immediately as I walked into the house. I could hear my father's voice and another roar of laughter coming from the house.

Are we having a guest?

I pushed the door open, and I saw my father seated with a strange man. They both stared at me, and the man smiled. "What a handsome young man. I am sure she will be thrilled," the man said, looking at my father.

What are they talking about?

Who will be thrilled?

"Aren't you going to say hello, son?" Bernard said slowly, looking at me.

"Am I supposed to? I don't even know who he is." I said immediately.

"Ah, my bad." Hutchison said,

Damian's POV Darkness. It greeted me like an old friend, wrapping itself around my consciousness with eerie comfort. But it wasn’t the comforting kind of darkness that let you sleep peacefully — no. This one whispered. This one watched. It breathed in tandem with me.“Damian…” The voice slithered in my ear, oily and deep, though I knew my body was still unconscious, slumped against the gritty floor of the underground. But in here, in this void, I was standing. “Who’s there?” I asked, my voice echoing oddly, like I was trapped in a cave too wide and too narrow at the same time. “You are awake… and worthy,” the voice said, distorted but captivating. “Finally, after so long… one with rage potent enough to awaken the system.” The word echoed: system. My mind beat fast. "What system? What are you talking about?" [Dark system voice] Do you think Frederick is better than you? Do you think he is more powerful than you?"Who are you? What are you talking about?" I said, slightly looking

Damian's POV I noticed the way Fred had a fight with me. His moment was too fluid. It was like the last time, but this time around. It was as if he knew when I was going to throw all my deadly punches and how to counter them. I sat inside the ring with my head throbbing in pain. I hate just losing to him again, but I have lost twice. I looked up, and my face collided with my father's. I could see the anger in them. Without saying a word, he got out of the VIP section. I knew he was going home, and my fate was sealed. If only Georgia could be mine. I knew that was the only way to change his mind. "You need to get off the ring now!" A husky voice said, looking at me. "You lost, kid." I smirked and looked at him, but I knew when to behave. The man was twice my size, and I knew I could not take him down in a fight even if I wanted to transfer my negative energy. I look around to see those who were chanting his name. I wanted to tell them to stop. To shout at them, but that would on

[ DING! ] [ New Mission: Defeat Damian at the underground fight arena. ] [ Reward: $2,000,000 ] I stared at the system notification, blinking once. Twice. Two million dollars? That wasn’t pocket change. That was life-changing. That was enough to silence every voice that had ever called me worthless. Enough to fix everything. But the catch? The underground fight. No rules. No referees. No supervision. Just blood, grit, and brutal instincts. "Well?" Bernard’s voice snapped me back to reality. “Do we have a deal?” I turned my attention to him slowly, and for the first time, I saw something flicker in his eyes—doubt. Maybe he thought I’d run. Maybe he thought I’d hide behind the excuse of being injured. But he didn’t know me. Not truly. I wiped the last of the blood from my lips and stepped forward. “You want a fight? You got one. But not here.” Bernard raised an eyebrow. “What?” “I’ll fight him,” I said, loud enough for everyone to hear. “But not on the school grounds. Undergro

The tension inside the fort bristled like dry kindling near a flame.Ethan stood unmoving, eyes glowing an eerie, shifting blue. Across from him, Lt. Grayson didn’t flinch, but the way her hand hovered near the pistol at her hip betrayed her unease.Around them, the convoy group—Zack, Barnet, Talia, Miles, and the rest—stood close, weapons raised but uncertain. Soldiers from the fort, clad in a patchwork of old-world military gear and survivalist armor, responded in kind. One wrong word, and this fragile calm would shatter into blood and bullets.“Let me talk to her,” Ethan said quietly. “To Selena.”Grayson tilted her head. “Why? So you do want the serum for yourself after all!"“She never asked for this,” Ethan replied. “Neither did I. But we both had to survive.”Grayson’s mouth twisted into a bitter smile. “Survive? Don’t talk to me about survival, enhanced. You walk in here with glowing eyes and think you’re still one of us?”Zack stepped forward, rifle lowered but ready. “If you

Damian's POV I let out a scornful laugh. "Is that supposed to scare me? Do you think I care what you say? No one will believe you." I said, walking majestically towards Fred. "Really?" Fred said, looking back at me. I could see his look, and I knew he had something up his sleeve. "Do you know how many of them cower in fear when they see me? Do you honestly think you can challenge my authority here? Why don't you go back to Mandy? You both could actually work it out." "I will take the bet. You are so sure of winning, right? Why don't we try and see who comes out on top?" Fred said, dragging me back to my words. Axle walked up to me and said some words into my ear. "I don't need to fight with you, Fred. I bested you once. Why do I need to go through the stress of fighting you all over again? Besides, your little and scared princess doesn't want you to fight me." Fred looked at Georgia and said some words to her. I couldn't hear what he said to her, but she became calm an

DAMIAN'S POV The sun was scorching, but the fire inside me burned hotter. I saw him—Federick—sitting beside Georgia, the girl who was my ticket to getting what I wanted from my father.Power. I clenched my fists, ignoring the laughter from my friends beside me. They were talking about some party later tonight, but I wasn’t listening. My eyes were fixed on the two of them, fingers entwined, as if that meant something permanent. It didn’t. Not when I was still here. “Yo, Damian,” Axle nudged me. “Are you sure you want to do this here?” I didn’t answer. I adjusted the chain on my neck and took a few strides forward. Georgia saw me first. I caught the subtle panic in her eyes before she looked away. Then Federick saw me. He moved quickly, standing in front of her like he was her protector. I hated that.I hated the fact that fate was always bringing both of us together. He should fear me like all other kids do. But up till now, Fred doesn't. He does whatever he wants without givin
