[ AFTER THE FASHION EVENT ]

[ THREE MONTH AFTER ]

FREDERICK'S POV

For a moment, I knew peace. The fact that I didn't need to look over my shoulders was actually a good thing. I was the face of the university, and my pictures were plastered all over the walls of the school.

Many freshers wanted to be like me. Most of them walked up to me to ask me questions, while some heard my story about how I changed my fate and stood up to Damian.

I know what you are thinking.

Of course, Damian and his goons were still very much around in the university, but then they knew their place. The police were still in search of the mask guy after the incident that day, but he was nowhere to be found.

It had been three months. Everyone was calm, and academic work was going the normal way.

I was now in my final years, and it was going to be exam day very soon. I and Felix burn the midnight oil.

As we studied, Garry looked at me and smiled. "I know this is not your definition of havin

FEDERICK'S POV The university buzzed with noise as many of the students were preparing for their final year exam. The awareness, the sense of going into the world, was thrilling. I was no longer the poverty-stricken boy who walked into Austin University. I was now a man who had invested in a lot of cryptocurrency trades, and not only that, I was having the power of the system backing me up. I was carried away with my eyes darting back and forth when I heard her gentle laughter. I looked back, and I saw Georgia looking at me. She has the smile on her face that made all my sorrows disappear. "What are you doing?" She asked, staring at me. The sun was catching her glowing skin, and I couldn't stop staring at her skimpy skirt. "You are not having dirty thoughts, are you?" Georgia taunted, and I laughed. "Well, I can't help it. Not when you are looking this good." I said, scratching my head. It was obvious I was in love with her. "You seem more relaxed and calm today." Geo

FEDERICK'S POV I got home feeling sore. My body aches as I land on the soft bed behind me. I let out a smile looking at the white porcelain ceiling. Things were finally working out for me. If I could get Dully to testify to everything that Damian had done, then I wouldn't need to fight with him over Georgia. He was going to be spending his time in prison while I had a blast with the love of my life. I picked up my phone to call Georgia, and another call entered. I looked at the caller, and I frowned my face a little, but. "What does she want?" I said, Clean my phone, in anger. You know the feeling when you see a call you were not expecting. The anger, rage. Yes, that feeling. That was what I was experiencing at the moment. "What do you want?" I scowled at the caller. "I know I don't have the right to call you at this moment, but can we talk?" Mandy said at the end of the call. "You know you have some nerve calling? Did he put you up to this?" I asked with a smirk o

FEDERICK'S POV The feeling of accomplishment eased over me the moment Dully accepted my request. The benefactor immediately walked up to me after the little show, and with a smirk on his face, he looked at me, "You owe me one, Fred. One day I am going to come for it," he said and walked away. "Who is that?" Dully asked, looking at me suspiciously. "No one. He helped me get to you, and that is the only reason he is here." I replied immediately. "So what next?" I asked, staring at Dully. "You tell me. You had all of this figured out before you came looking for me." Dully replied, grabbing his backpack. "Are you still fighting in the undergrounds?" I asked "I haven't lost a single match in a long time. Yes." He replied with a smile on his face. "You do know Damian is in too?" "I know everything I need to know about the fight. He will be out when he gets entangled with a stronger opponent. What about you? Are you still playing?" Dully looked at me. I was not sure if I should con

Dully's pov This all looks like a set up. Fred asking me to be his friend and help him take down Damain. It was what I wanted but then I remembered Bernard left me for a reason. I should have been killed. But he chose not to end my life right there. I winced as I felt one of my ribs broken. I don't know how Fred did it but he had become stronger and faster. There was something about him I still didn't understand. He moved more like a robot than an actual human being. My eye was fixed on him and his words kept resonating in my ears. What are the wining chances of me getting the life I wanted if I chose to help him? Can I really come out of the shadow and be free? Ever since I recovered from my injuries, I have been trying to stay off grid and watch Damian from the sideline. I noticed he had been doing all sorts of training and he was also becoming stronger. Not for himself but because of me. The bell ring and I rushed towards Fred throwing a few punches. I missed as he moved

The phone’s screen glowed in the darkness as I stood frozen, breath caught in my throat. I hadn't heard from it in a while—the distinct ding of the system. The damn thing had gone radio silent after my last fight, leaving me high and dry. I thought it had abandoned me like it said it would. Left me to claw my way through life the old-fashioned way: with blood, sweat, and broken bones. But now… [SYSTEM ALERT: Get him to be your friend ] [ SYSTEM REWARD; $1,000,000] I knew making Dully to be my friend was going to be very tough and he was not going to be as easy as I thought. Besides, I have to fight him without the help of the system. If the system wanted him on my side so bad then why didn't it just give me the power to win? I shoved the phone into my pocket, shouldered my duffel, and stepped into the waiting car. It was sleek, black, silent—like the night itself had sent it. I didn’t ask the driver anything. He didn’t speak either. We both knew why I was there. Tw

Federick's POV The card felt heavier than it should have. Just a small, dark rectangle with golden ink that caught the light in odd ways, almost like it was alive. There was no name, no title—just a number. It looked like something out of a spy movie, and yet it was very real. I turned it over again, contemplating the consequences. The thought of if I should do it or not gnawed at me. But I need to meet with him. If he could get me the fight that I wanted then it was going to be the best thing. I had no idea who the benefactor really was. All I knew was that someone—someone with money, power, and reach—had taken an interest in me. That could mean salvation or damnation. But at this point, what did I really have to lose? The phone felt slick in my hand as I dialed the number. It rang once. Twice. Then—click. A silence stretched, long enough that I thought the line had dropped. Then a voice came through, smooth, deep, and eerily calm. "I was wondering when you would call." I swal
