Chapter 5
John Accepting to become Dominic Volkov, the first thing I did was return to the hospital. There the doctors were losing their minds trying to find me. “Oh, Mr. Dominic, it is a miracle that you are alive.” The professor Doc said to me, looking in awe and disbelief as I sat in his office, hail and healthy. “Thank you. I need to be discharged today,” I blurted, not returning the doctor's smile. He nodded, “Of course, we have done all the necessary tests and you are completely hail and healthy, you are free to leave, as long as you pay up your bills, your wife has stopped paying your hospital expenses and also stopped visiting and she is also not taking the calls from the hospital, they only reason we kept you was that, well, you used to be a volunteer at the hospital but you have a lot of bills to settle.” He mumbled, the sadness in his voice showed how hard it was for him to tell me all these things. On the way back to the hospital, Ace filled me with everything I needed to know about Dominic Volkov. An average businessman with a fiancé, one who he loves dearly but then his business suddenly plummeted and crashed, causing him to lose his potential clients and investors. Dominic went from grace to grass and if that wasn’t enough, he was on the verge of bankruptcy. It was either he sold the company to a bigger one or he declared bankruptcy and the bank confiscated everything he owned, if possible, his life too. It was during this period that he was almost killed but Ace doesn’t know who tried to kill him by pushing him off the rooftop of his building. My daily task was to spend one million dollars and my weekly task was to keep my company which would be a little difficult because it is said that Dominic’s best friend and partner was selling his company. To accomplish this, I needed to know who my enemies were so I decided to stay in the hospital for a couple of days. I pulled out my phone and paid Ken, the doctor. He was beyond shocked, it was written all over his face that he wanted to ask where I got that sum of money from, considering that I had been lying in that hospital bed for two months and my company was going under. “I will be in the hospital for six more days. Do not tell anyone that I am awake.” I growled, glaring at him. His throat bobbed and he nodded. I went out to get a new laptop and a new phone. If I was going to live my life as Dominic, I need to make sure I do not repeat the same mistake I made with Nancy and her family. I failed to know who my enemy was, I chose to turn a blind eye because I wanted them to be good people and innocent people suffered, and innocent people died. I wasn’t going to make that mistake again. I need to know Dominic’s enemy and thanks to my skills, finding it out wasn’t very hard then again, it was something hard to believe but it happened to me so yes, I am not exactly surprised. [24: 13: 30] I had one day left to complete my first weekly task. “So, you are leaving the hospital?” Ken asked and I nodded. “If you feel any discomfort, do not hesitate to come over, I’ll check you myself.” He assured me and I couldn’t help but smile even though my new resolve was to be an unapproachable man. I went to Dominic’s apartment which was pretty basic but appropriate, I pulled out one of his suits, and …I think it’s high time I began referring to his things as my things since I live in his body now. I pulled out of the black tuxedo in the wardrobe and went to my company. Luxe Foods. That is a ridiculous name to give a company but let’s make do for now. Every staff member I met as I walked in gave me a questionable look. “Is he a ghost?” “How did he get better so fast?” “I thought the news said he might never recover?” “What the hell?” All I could do was smirk and make my way toward the boardroom. “Mr Dominic!” I heard a girl cry out. She was short, brunette, pale, and beautiful. Her name is Elise, my assistant. She ran towards me, tears rolling down her eyes, she pouted, “Boss, are you really selling the company? Are we really not going to save the company? What about us? Are you going to abandon us? Please don’t abandon us.” Of course, she is dramatic, as all short girls are. I smiled and patted her shoulders. I ignored all her questions and made my way into the board room. “Good day, gentlemen.” My voice was not loud but loud enough that it bounced on every corner of the room, announcing my arrival. They all turned to me, bewildered, confused. My fiancé, Lura jumped from her seat, she slammed her hands over her mouth, and her eyes widened as she gasped. “Honey, are you okay?” I rasped, walking closer to her as she staggered. I caught her, placing my wide palm on her back and pulling her up. Her throat bobbed as she was back on her feet and she pulled away. “Honey, you …you’re awake.” She stuttered, sneaking a peek at my so-called best friend, Francis who was fucking her. I laughed, “I know right? Everyone kept saying it was a miracle…I guess I was supposed to die.” I grinned. She forced a laugh. “I’m glad you’re awake, man.” Fransis's voice came from behind and I slowly turned to him with my eyes squinted. “Are you?” My voice was low, deep, stern, and accusing. He lost his stance and almost crumbled back but he leaned on the chair next to him. “Mr. Dominic, we didn’t know you would make it. Please sit.” The buyer of my company, Mr. Luke said politely to me. “How could I possibly miss a great day like this.” [7: 20: 3]

Chapter 12 Dominic Before I could say another word, Lucy's eyes searched Mike, she plastered a warm smile on her cheek, “Can I talk to you, Mr Dominic?” Her voice was subtle and calm, while making sure her eyes remained on mine. “Sure.” I gestured for her to come with me as I made my way to my office. I tilted my head to see my assistant’s eyes shining at me, shaking her head and shrugging her shoulders in a way to ask me why I was still going to my office with Lucy after her father had almost humiliated me and taken away my company. I smirked and ignored her. We got to my office, I closed the door behind me and slid my hands into my pocket, my head up high as I watched her, studied her. What does she want to talk about? Why is she looking at me like that? What is going through her mind? Is she going to stick with me as my fiancée? I can’t let that happen, I need Nancy… I need to get into their family and bring them down… I need to make them suffer for everything they did to me

Chapter 11DOMINIC VOLKOV2 days agoBusinessmen always like to meet together, from the smallest companies to the biggest companies, but they all have to be on the chart. And me? Well, I am not on the chart, but I need to be on the chart—not 100, not 99—and to do that, I have to play dirty. My goal today is to help Mr. Collins Devon, owner of Lego Foods. He produces one of the best beverages in the country except he doesn’t have the finances to keep it going or take it to the next level and to make matters worse, his godforsaken children are running him dry, taking every penny, he makes, going to parties, sleeping with girls, creating scandals that are bad for the company.I need to take his place.“Dominic Volkov, it’s nice to see you.” Mr. Devon, a fifty year old man, dressed in an Italian suit stood up to shake hands with me. I took his hands and sat before him.“Good to see you too Mr. Devon, I must say, considering the troubles your son causes you, you look rather alive.” I blurt

Chapter 10DOMINIC“Elise, don’t fuck with me, I am not in the mood for jokes.” I sneered, my fist clenched, my teeth gritted with my other hand still holding the phone to my ears.“Boss, you are really attractive, but I am into girls, so no, I am not fucking with you, Mr. Luca is here with his daughter, I think Nancy and they are demanding that we all vacate the building.” She rambled over the phone, panic set in her voice.“Wait, you’re gay?” I rasped, a little confused because I swore, I saw her flirting with one of the workers.“No, I’m lesbian but sometimes I find men attractive but that is not what is important here, what do we do about Artisan Group?” She rambled again, this time, her pitch a bit higher.I took a deep breath and leaned into my chair, my head flipped back, “Tell them I am on my way and do not let them hurt you or anyone in the building, do you understand?” I ordered, my thumb rubbing my forehead. There was silence from her end and for a moment I assumed she end

Chapter 9 DOMINIC’S POV What the fuck did I do? Why? Why did I have to run my mouth and ask for Lucy? Ugh… fuck me! [You chose Lucy] “I know.” [You wanted to marry Nancy.] “I know!” [So you love Lucy?] “What the fuck, Ace? No, I don't love Lucy, Lucy is…was a friend, and don’t forget, she is a member of that Artisan’s family, the only thing I want from that family is to have them grovel on their knees and beg me while I punish them for what they did.” I spat. [Does that include Lucy?] [Do you also want to punish her for her family’s crimes] “If I have to.” [Then it’s settled, it doesn't matter who you marry, Nancy or Lucy, you will still be connected to Aritsan’s group, Your revenge is still on track.] Taking my seat, I sigh, looking into space. Luca agreed to give me his daughter, Lucy even though Nancy was pissed by it. He asked why I wanted Lucy, and all I could say was, who wouldn't want Lucy? Because, who wouldn't want Lucy, have you seen Lucy? But what I think abo

Chapter 8 DOM’S POV Getting home, I went to my laptop, trying not to think about Lucy. Not because I wanted to have anything to do with her but because I hated the thought of her getting married to that douchebag. Lucy and I barely saw each other after I got married to her sister because Nancy hated the idea of me being close to her little sister even though she got to know me through Lucy. Lucy and I had been good friends despite our age differences. I saved her from getting hit by a bus and she followed me about ever since, she helped me with May and Ara, and she helped me with life even though she was younger. I hated that I stopped talking to her because Nancy thought Lucy had feelings for me which was absurd. I shook off those old thoughts and went on to work. I opened my laptop and an email from the Artisan group popped up. I clicked on it and the messages spread through my screen and I read. “Tomorrow at Blue Hill Vio restaurant, noon. Reservation under the name, Mr Luc
Chapter 7
Chapter 7 DOM’S POV I received an email this morning. “Mr. Dominic Volkov, this is an Artisan Group. We hope this email finds you well. We are sending this email because we believe your company has potential and we would love to set up a meeting together to discuss a possible future of becoming partners.” “Ha! Ha! Ha!” I burst into laughter as I read the messages. [is there something funny about the message your enemy sent?] Ace asked, his voice echoing in my head. I slammed his hands over my mouth as I sat in the new apartment I just bought two days ago after I managed to stop the company from going to someone else and also receiving the mass resignation letter from my staff. It was a pleasant day and a bad one too. Because how on earth am I supposed to get 200 staff in 4 days? My goal is to take this company to the top and to do that, I need the best staff. I can’t just recruit anyone and besides, everyone knows that my company is going through financial instability, no one
