Faul, along with his mother and Billie, had been adjusting to their new life in Jura for some time now. Life wasn't as easy as it was in the mountains. In the mountains, they didn't need money to buy anything they needed, as nature had provided everything.

Maria had to get work as a waiter in a small eatery in Jura to provide for Faul. Billie, on the other hand, decided to use his skill to help the family also, so he went and joined a little escort cavalry in the city. With his strength and skills, earning money was not a big deal for him.

In order to live the life of a normal kid, Maria used her unique power of matter manipulation and changed the color of Faul's eyes with a little tint of red in them, making it seem normal, except when he was too excited or angry his eyes would turn bright red like that of a dragon.

Life had been going smoothly until the day the refugee camp was attacked by the Pure Blood, as they called themselves.

Pure Blood was a group of individuals from different cities who didn't like the accommodation given to refugees, especially people from Karaza, after hearing of what happened on the island of Shunga ten years ago.

The city had been divided into two factions: those who supported the Pure Blood and those who supported the refugees.

The Pure Blood believed that the emperor wasn't supposed to give free lands to the refugees of Karaza but should have given them out as slaves to the other cities. So they had been attacking and taking the refugees as slaves from time to time.

The emperor countered them several times, leading to bloodshed, but he came to the conclusion that the refugees had to save themselves because fighting his people during the period of the lingering full-scale war with the Red Death was detrimental to the survival of the nation.

...

Billie was out on an escorted journey with his fellow escort cavalry, leaving only Maria and Faul to fend for themselves with the little funds he left for them and what Maria was earning. On the night of the attack, Maria was weak after the day's work and decided to rest for the night after preparing dinner for Faul, who was still out on the field training with other kids.

"Attack! Capture the children and women and kill the men!" said the leader of the Pure Blood raiders.

"Run! The Pure Blood has attacked again!" a man shouted, but before he could take a step, his body fell without a head. The attack continued, and the children in the field training had no idea that an attack was going on in the refugee side of the city.

All of a sudden, Faul froze and said, "My mother is in danger. I have to hurry!"

...

Maria, who was very weak, opened her eyes weakly to see what the commotion was all about, only to find out the house was on fire. She used the water magic she had to quench the fire as she ran outside.

"A sorcerer! We need her alive!" shouted the leader of the Pure Blood raiders.

Maria was ready to defend herself, but all of a sudden she lost her balance. She felt dizzy. Not knowing what was going on, she tried so hard to resist, but she heard someone say,

"Oh, don't try too much, ma'am. I know who you are and how to hold you down," a man said, holding his hands out toward Maria.

As Maria looked up to see who said those words, behold, it was Alfonsus, the servant chief of her former household. Before she could say a word, she slumped down, and everything went dark.

"I have been looking for you, ma'am Maria. Now it's time to get rid of your devilish son, who will kill us all," Alfonsus said as he bent down and carried Maria.

Faul was running at his full speed. Although he had the strength that surpassed an average human, he was still a ten-year-old boy. The more his anger rose to another level, the more powerful he felt. His scales were expanding, covering the whole of his back. His red eyes started brightening even more, and his fangs were growing longer and more crystalized.

"Roooooooooar!" Faul roared as he saw someone he didn't recognize carry his mother off the ground and drop her on a horse.

"Stop him. He might be a ten-year-old boy, but don't underestimate him. He's dangerous," said Alfonsus as he climbed the horse and sped off into the darkness with Maria.

...

The sword in Billie's scabbard started vibrating and giving out a buzzing sound.

"What's happening? Are they in trouble?" Billie asked, but before he could finish his thought, the sword had already left the scabbard and split into two. One went back into the scabbard while the other flew into the sky and disappeared.

...

"Don't touch my family!" Faul roared as a sword appeared from nowhere behind him, shining with a red murderous color.

"Kill him!" shouted one of the Pure Blood raiders.

The refugees hiding were watching how a ten-year-old boy held so much power and aura.

Zoooooom! About twenty men, fully equipped to the toe with the best weapons and skills, fell down with Faul standing at the center of the massacre with a sword in his hand. The red shining sword looked as if it had tiny veins that connected it to Faul's hand. Faul's skin was glowing like a diamond, exuding a powerful aura like that of a dragon.

"Moooooother!!!" Faul let out another roar as he vanished from sight in search of his mother.

  • Chapter 64: The Sky Burns

The air cracked around Faul’s wings as he flew faster than ever before. Trees below blurred into smears of green and brown, rivers twisted like silver threads, and the mountains faded behind him. Every heartbeat was a beat too long. His mind echoed with Yin and Yang’s warning. Leo was infected. He didn’t stop to think. He couldn’t. That wasn’t just some stranger on the battlefield. That was someone his friends trusted—someone Billie had fought beside. If the infection had reached him, then Phil, Harry, and Ralph were in more danger than they realized. His claws tightened instinctively, and fire swirled around his body, trailing behind him like a comet. The wind screamed past his ears, but his senses stretched far beyond the sky. He could feel them. Phil’s aura—steady, but dimmer than usual. Ralph’s spark—flickering, uncertain. Harry’s pulse—erratic. Fear? No… anger. But Leo’s… it was wrong. Twisted. Like a soul dipped in pitch and lit from the inside. Faul gritted his teeth

  • Chapter 63: Billie's Adventure

The Red Dragon Escort Cavalry has been a name feared by bandits in and out of many Kaar cities. Just the mere mention of the name Red Dragon Escort Cavalry, foes, and even other escort cavalries would tremble to the extent that each task they showed interest in was left alone by all other escort cavalries. But despite all the fame and glory, even a mighty cavalry like the Red Dragon Escort Cavalry has its problems but it is something that Billie can handle. Controlling five magic powers and controlling them with perfection is a thing many are envious of, but no one has the guts to let Billie know that. Billie is someone who is kind but does not tolerate any nonsense. At his age, he is the leader of a mighty escort cavalry that puts any bandit group to the ground. The name, Red Dragon Escort Cavalry, is a warrior on its own, and when the members of the escorting cavalry show up, any bandit will be annihilated. After Faul in the hands of Alfred, he embarked on his own journey to fi

  • Chapter 62: You are my master?

Faul was utterly surprised by what Yin and Yang said, but he just couldn't believe it. "What did you say?" Faul tightened his grip around Yin and Yang's neck. "I... said... my... master... is... the greatest dragon that ever lived, Braf," Yin and Yang forced himself to say while being choked. Faul dropped him to the ground, standing still for a few minutes before he opened his hands towards the thick smoke, and it spread far and wide, growing even thicker. "Why is he acting like this? No one should know my master around here, right?" Yin and Yang thought before he found himself being lifted off the ground. "You are coming with me." Faul didn't give Yin and Yang any choice and lifted him off the ground before taking flight from the area, heading deep into the mountains. Others didn't know what was going on between the two who were fighting earlier, as they no longer heard any fighting going on between them. Phil knew that Faul had left with Yin and Yang because he could no

  • Chapter 61: Yin And Yang

Faul carried Phil back to the camp at a fast pace, with the other two tagging along behind him. The journey was a quiet one. Faul felt depressed—if he had arrived any later, his friends might have been dead. Meanwhile, the others worried that maybe Faul was angry with them for being too weak. He had simply picked up Phil and left without saying a word. Faul was never someone who knew how to express himself—except with his sword when he was pissed off. They snuck into the camp through the back and found that everyone was fast asleep. Faul laid Phil down in his corner and then went to his own spot without saying anything to the others. They were all worried—wondering if their long-standing friendship might break apart in a single night. “What were they even doing in the woods at that time?” “Were they following me?” Faul had a lot on his mind and couldn’t sleep all night. The following morning, they were awakened by the clang of a metal pot. Faul noticed the two had bags unde

  • Chapter 60: Instant Kill

Faul sneaked out of the camp through the back of the tent and went into the woods to hunt for food, as recently, eating normal human food no longer quenched his hunger. Unbeknownst to him, Phil opened his eyes and followed closely behind. He was quietly tailing Faul, not caring if anyone saw him leaving the camp. Of course, he was seen by both Ralph and Harry, who also sneaked out of the camp, following the two into the woods. "What do you think these two are going into the woods to do at this time of night?" Ralph couldn’t help but wonder as they continued to follow the two. "That, I don’t know. We’ll just keep following them quietly and find out soon enough," Harry replied, walking cautiously as they trailed behind Phil, who strolled leisurely through the woods. They still found it hard to believe what Faul had told them earlier about being a reincarnated dragon. Although he had shown them his true form by entering their minds, it all still felt like just a dream. They cont

  • Chapter 59: Hunting Game

Faul went ahead to tell them who he was, and how he was reincarnated into this world. He also explained what Phil had become and what he could be. Then, he told them about his mission and revealed the true culprit behind the Red Death. He finally asked if they would fight alongside him to end it. After spending hours within their minds, the two teenagers couldn't help but pledge allegiance to Faul, vowing to become his blood brothers and fight with him. When they returned from wherever their minds had taken them, they discovered that the hours they spent inside had only been a few minutes in the real world. They were still lying on their beds. They closed their eyes and drifted to sleep, praying for a good start to the next day — the beginning of the hunting game. The entire Silver Knight class at the Alora Knight Academy was preparing for the upcoming hunting game, scheduled to take place in a week. Before the game, the knights had to be assessed in various areas to determine
