First Class Through the Apocalypse

Chapter 005

Seeing Caleb Mercer walk out, the girls on the train all jogged after him. The group quickly arrived behind a small dirt wall, while Caleb stood in front of it to keep watch for them.

"Caleb, you are not allowed to peek!" Stella Lane made sure to remind him.

Caleb waved his hand helplessly and said, "Alright, I got it, and you can rest assured that I would never do something like peeking."

He then muttered softly to himself, "I only look openly and honestly!"

Soon, all the girls who had gotten off the train finished using the bathroom and boarded the carriage again under his escort, leaving only Caleb, Sylvia Hale, and Sophie Hale at the scene.

"What materials do you need to make clothes?" Caleb asked as he turned to look at Sophie.

"I just need weeds, dry branches, or any kind of soft plant," she replied.

Hearing this, Caleb looked around and quickly spotted the materials Sophie needed scattered on the ground, as these types of weeds were common even in the wasteland. The three of them crouched on the ground and began gathering the dry branches and weeds, while Caleb decided not to rush deeper into the town to search for supplies just yet. The broadcast on the train had explicitly stated that they might encounter other people at the station. Setting aside whether the other party would attack them on sight, he simply did not have the courage to wander around completely naked.

After an unknown amount of time passed, a large pile of weeds and dry branches accumulated on the ground. Caleb straightened his back, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and glanced at the pile before asking, "Is this enough?"

"No," Sophie replied as she wiped her own forehead, shaking her head while dripping with sweat. "These materials are only enough to make one set of clothes, which is far from enough for the twenty-three of us. Furthermore, we will face the deep-freeze apocalypse in a month, so I need to make much warmer clothing, otherwise the consequences will be unimaginable."

Hearing her words, Caleb furrowed his brow slightly. The three of them had spent three whole hours just to gather enough materials for a single outfit, meaning it would take until when hell freezes over to collect enough for all twenty-three people.

Wait a minute!

He suddenly remembered that he had a system that could duplicate items, wondering how he could have forgotten something so important. Realizing this, Caleb immediately spoke up. "Sophie, just make one set of clothes first, and I will figure out a way to handle the rest!"

"Alright," Sophie agreed without asking any further questions, and with a gentle wave of her delicate hand, the dry leaves and weeds on the ground instantly vanished.

In their place, a complete set of white casual clothes appeared, including underwear, pants, a shirt, and shoes. A confident smile appeared on Caleb's face as he waved his hand, causing the clothes on the ground to instantly disappear into his system storage.

"Where did the clothes go?" both women asked, looking at him in sheer confusion.

"Do not worry," Caleb replied with a mysterious smile, while shouting a command in his mind for the system to duplicate the item.

He chuckled internally at his resounding success. Overjoyed, Caleb waved his hand again, and three identical sets of clothes instantly materialized on the ground.

"How is this even possible?" Sophie asked in absolute shock, while Sylvia widened her eyes in equal disbelief.

"I actually have another ability that allows me to duplicate one item every day, but I can only make five copies at a time," Caleb lied smoothly.

He deliberately hid the fact that he could duplicate items infinitely, knowing that such a terrifying power needed to be kept secret just in case. Besides, if he took out too many clothes all at once, he would lose out on the spectacular visual benefits of his current situation. It was only a matter of getting everyone dressed a day or two later anyway.

"My goodness," Sylvia gasped in amazement. "That is an incredibly powerful ability, which means we can get enough clothes for everyone in a few days even if we stop gathering branches right now."

Caleb nodded in agreement. "Exactly, so let us put our clothes on first and let the other girls stay bare for a little while longer."

The two women exchanged a glance before speaking in deeply embarrassed tones. "Caleb, could you please turn around?"

Hearing this, Caleb felt a wave of helplessness, considering he had already seen every single inch of them from every possible angle. He could not understand why they were suddenly acting shy now that they were about to get dressed, finding their logic completely nonsensical. Despite his internal complaints, he obediently turned his back to them.

Soon, all three of them were fully dressed, and Caleb successfully sealed away his impressive natural assets.

Sophie rubbed her chest and frowned slightly. "Sister, wearing these clothes without a proper bra is incredibly uncomfortable."

Sylvia shot her a reprimanding glare. "You should just be grateful that we have something to wear at all."

"You are right," Sophie muttered as she stuck out her tongue and lowered her head in embarrassment, realizing that the other girls were still completely naked on the train.

Seeing that both women were finally dressed, Caleb turned back around to evaluate their new looks. Even though their breathtaking scenery was now hidden beneath the fabric, both women possessed absolute top-tier beauty and phenomenal figures. Sylvia radiated the mature, elegant aura of an older woman, while Sophie gave off the vibrant, innocent charm of a young girl. Perhaps due to her years of dancing, Sophie had an exceptionally toned, standard model-like figure. Surprisingly, he felt that they actually looked even more beautiful with clothes on.

"Stop staring, Caleb!" Sophie sharply scolded him, having keenly noticed his wandering gaze.

Caleb cleared his throat, scanned their barren surroundings, and replied with forced calmness, "I was just thinking that the weather is quite nice today."

"Hmph, you are such a pervert," Sophie scoffed coldly.

Caleb ignored her remark and looked up at the sky, wondering what was so nice about this terrible weather. The desolate town was completely devoid of life, offering nothing but a vast wasteland and a few scattered dirt houses. Even the sky emitted an unnatural, earthy-yellow glow that felt incredibly fake, as if it were a painted ceiling frozen in place.

"What should we do now, Caleb?" Sylvia asked as she took two steps forward.

He pointed to a dirt house a short distance away and explained, "Let us check the houses in the town to see if we can find any food or useful supplies."

Both women nodded in agreement, knowing that finding food and water was their top priority since no one on the train would last three days without them. The three of them remained on high alert as they approached the dirt house, but when Sophie gently pushed the creaky wooden door, it completely fell off its hinges and crashed to the ground in a cloud of dust.

"I did not do that on purpose," Sophie explained frantically, staring at her own hands in shock.

"There is no one here anyway," Caleb noted as he walked straight into the courtyard, only to find it completely barren without a single chair, table, or even a blade of grass. The place was absolutely stripped bare. "It does not seem dangerous here, so let us just look around."

They nodded obediently and split up to investigate the neighboring dirt houses.

Wait a second!

Just as Caleb was about to walk away, his eyes locked onto the fallen wooden door that Sophie had knocked over. He figured that the door had to count as some kind of wood material. Acting on his thought, he waved his hand and instantly stored the wooden door into his conductor backpack.

"I knew it would work!" Caleb cheered with a bright smile, casually prying a loose brick from the ground as he prepared to turn into a one-man demolition crew.
